The object of the present invention is a method for producing oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions from self-emulsifying O/W gel concentrates without agitation, such as stirring, or in a laminar flow field.

A liquid cosmetic which minimizes stickiness or stiffness caused by the incorporation of a large amount of a moisturizing agent is provided. This liquid cosmetic contains 10 to 40% by mass of a moisturizing agent (a), 0.01 to 3% by mass of an oil (b), 0.01 to 5% by mass of a hydrophilic surfactant (c), and 0.001 to 0.3% by mass polyacrylic acid or a metal salt thereof (d), and wherein an average emulsified particle size is 500 nm or smaller. Preferably, the amount of polyalkylene glycol contained in the moisturizing agent (a) is adjusted to 0.1 to 3 mass % relative to the whole cosmetic.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition in the form of a nanoemulsion comprising at least one particular non-ionic surfactant, at least one fatty substance, water and at least one propellant. The invention also relates to an aerosol device and also to a process for styling keratin fibres using such a composition.

A hair conditioner composition comprising arginine, a fatty acid having a C16 to C22 alkyl chain, and an aqueous carrier, all of which form a gel structure, and wherein the composition is free of a fatty alcohol.

Aqueous nanoemulsions of carbamato-functional organopolysiloxanes prepared using a polyoxyethylene emulsifier having an HLB greater than 15 and at least 40 oxyethylene moieties and having a D.sub.50 particle size ≤100 nm are transparent, stable, and useful in cosmetic compositions, particularly hair care compositions.

Disclosed is a process for preparing an encapsulated fragrance composition. The composition comprises a plurality of microcapsules dispersed in a dispersion medium. The microcapsules comprise a core and a shell around the core. The process comprises the consecutive steps of: a) Providing an aqueous phase (I) comprising at least one anionically modified polyisocyanate (A); b) Providing an organic phase (II) comprising at least one fragrance ingredient; c) Mixing the aqueous phase (I) and the an organic phase (II) to obtain a mixture; d) Forming an emulsion comprising droplets of the organic phase (II) in the continuous aqueous phase (I); e) Adding at least one polyfunctional amine; f) Effecting formation of shells around the droplets formed in step d), to obtain a dispersion of microcapsules. The process comprises the additional step of adding a polyisocyanate (B), which is different from polyisocyanate (A).

Methods for forming dermatological compositions that deliver water and/or other hydrophilic compounds into or through the dermis using reverse micelles. The methods include forming compositions with an oil-based continuous phase and an emulsifier that form nanoparticle micelles. The nanoparticle micelles are formulated into biocompatible topical ointments that are stable at room temperature and can be distributed in consumer packaging and consumer distribution channels.

The invention relates to oil-in-water emulsion in which specific oils (e.g., lauric oils) are used in the oil phase while surprisingly maintaining excellent transparency. In one aspect, said emulsions comprise fatty acid in oil phase. The invention comprises an energy efficient process for making said fatty acid containing transparent nanoemulsions.

Multiple emulsions comprising an internal phase which is an oil continuous nanoemulsion are described. The multiple emulsions are water continuous, stable, provide moisturizing benefits and can comprise a high concentration of water soluble actives.

The present invention provides a compound which is a polyether phosphate ester and which does not comprise an alkylene oxide residue. The invention also provides a composition which comprises: i) a polyether phosphate ester; ii) a mono-alcohol phosphate ester; and iii) a polyether which comprises at least two terminal C6 to C36 hydrocarbyl groups.
