System and method for stair assembly and installation
A manufacturing system provides for building staircase assemblies of different design criteria and different building codes. The assemblies are manufactured in an assembly-line manner from one or more centralized manufacturing facilities. Individual projects are shipped to different job sites. The assembly is formed in an off-site, manufacturing facility. The completed assembly obtains a certification to indicate successful building code compliance for the final jurisdiction. The completed stair assembly is disassembled, packaged and shipped to the final building construction site where the assembly can be reassembled and installed. Final installation adjustments, as needed, can accommodate height, width or length adjustments needed to overcome manufacturing tolerances between the assembly and its stairwell. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLY OF MODULAR STAIR ASSISTANCE DEVICE FOR PETS
A pet staircase may be formed by joining modular units to each other in succession and that overlie a household staircase. They are retained in position over the household staircase. Each modular unit has stairs and/or ramps. The treads may be adjusted so that they all are parallel to each other and extend horizontally.
System to deter external climbing of open stairs
The present invention provides a guard which is a surface that is adapted for mounting over the open end of the tread of a step of an open stairway such that when associated with a stairway: the exposed area of the OTEP is reduced. The present invention further provides for a retention means to maintain stable association of the guard with the stairway. The present invention further comprises kits comprising one or more guards, one or more retention means and instructions for use.
Suspension Mounted Heating System
A suspension mounted heating system is designed to allow easy installation of electric heating cable that is positioned against the bottom surface of a suspended stair or walkway so that heat generated by the cable is efficiently transferred up into the stair or walkway material to raise its temperature enough to prevent the accumulation of snow and ice on the material's top surface.
STAIR SYSTEM AND MANUFACTURING
In one implementation, a stair system disclosed herein allows for efficient manufacturing and installation of stairs. The stair system includes a stair comprising a plurality of steps, a lower landing rotatably attached to the bottom of the stair, and an upper landing rotatably attached to the top of the stair, wherein each of the upper landing and the lower landing are configured to be attached to vertical posts.
RUG MOUNTING SYSTEMS AND METHOD
A rug mounting system and method includes an elongate fastening driven into a flooring surface. The elongate fastener is coupled with a fastening area and a complementary fastener. The underside of the rug is fitted with a complementary fastening area and fastener. A flat item that includes the fastening area is affixed to the flooring surface, and the elongate fastener is applied to the flooring surface therethrough, thus exposing the lower end fasteners. The rug is then placed over both fastening types and mounted on the ground. One, or more, mounting systems may be used to secure a rug to the ground.
UNIVERSAL WRAPAROUND STEP COVER
A universal wraparound cover for a step includes opposed ends with equivalent number of multiple tabs and fasteners engaging the tabs through holes in the opposed ends to secure the cover to the step. Rear tabs include multiple reinforced attachment points, and the forward tabs include a single attachment point each. The wraparound cover can therefore be fitted over numerous side supported step types.
Combined stairway and lift installation and method for converting said stairway into said lift
A stairway (1) comprising a plurality of steps (2) each defining a top surface or tread (3) is converted into a lift platform by employing a mechanism concealed beneath an envelope defined by the treads of all of the steps to guide each step of the plurality vertically from a stairway configuration in which the steps form a stairway enabling access from a lower (7) level to an upper level (8) to a flat configuration in which the top edge of each step is substantially in a horizontal plane level with one of the lower and upper levels from which a wheelchair user may wish to travel to the other of the lower and upper levels. As a result, a wheelchair user may move horizontally from the said one of the lower and upper levels on to a platform defined by the top edges of the plurality of steps in the flat configuration. The stairway and flat configurations occupy the same footprint.
