SUBFLOOR ASSEMBLY ON A SUPPORT SUBSTRATE
20210115682 · 2021-04-22 ·

A subfloor assembly that supports a flooring section on a substrate. The subfloor assembly includes a subfloor section and a resilient component. The subfloor section includes an offset groove in an underside of the subfloor section. The offset groove is defined by a side of the groove spaced apart from an opposing side of the groove and a ceiling spanning between the side and the opposing side and sloped relative to an upper surface of the substrate. The resilient component is positioned in the offset groove and between the ceiling and the upper surface of the substrate.

Interlocking modular mat with sponge insert

An interlocking modular mat having four sides has female connectors on two sides and male connectors on the other two sides so that the modular mat can interlock with an adjacent mat and its connectors. The modular mat is configured with a plurality of structures surrounding a periphery of a top portion of the mat. The plurality of structures in combination with an underside of the top portion of the mat form a cavity. A sponge insert is configured to fit in the cavity and have a height such that a portion of the sponge insert extends from a bottom side the mat body. With the sponge insert extending beyond the bottom side of the mat body, the sponge insert bottom face generally become the supporting bottom of the modular mat to provide a more cushioned feel for a mat user.

DUAL-PURPOSE PROGRESSIVE STAGE LOAD-DISTRIBUTING AND ABSORBING SYSTEM
20240003143 · 2024-01-04 ·

A multi-purpose progressive stage load distributing and absorbing system that lies below a superstructure material that is exposed to percussive forces. The progressive stage load distributing and absorbing system is interposed between the superstructure material and a foundation. The system has a barrier layer that lies below the superstructure material and an underlayment infrastructure positioned below the barrier layer. Included in the underlayment infrastructure are hat-shaped absorbing members that have a relatively compliant region and one or more relatively stiff regions.

UNDERLAYMENT PANEL HAVING DRAINAGE CHANNELS
20240003100 · 2024-01-04 · ·

An impact-absorbing assembly includes a covering layer being one or more of artificial turf, rubber mats, polymer mats, short pile carpeting, particulate infill, wood chips, and ground rubber chips. Also included is a layer of underlayment panels positioned beneath the covering layer. The panels have a panel section with a plurality of drain holes formed therethrough. A top surface of the panels is configured to support the covering layer. A bottom surface of the panels has a plurality of bottom projections that cooperate to define bottom channels suitable to permit water flow across the bottom surface, the bottom channels being in fluid communication with the panel drain holes. The bottom projections define a first spring rate characteristic that is part of a first stage and a second spring rate characteristic is part of a second stage, the first stage having a smaller volume of material than the second stage.

Floor pavement structure with gel layer

A floor pavement structure includes a top layer that seals the floor pavement structure and a PU gel layer. The PU gel layer includes a solid and a liquid component and is positioned between a base material and the top layer. The solid component is a polyurethane polymer matrix. The liquid component is a plasticizer.

NEW ATHLETIC FLOOR AND METHOD THEREFOR
20200386000 · 2020-12-10 ·

A new athletic floor resiliently retrofit to a worn athletic floor having a supporting sleeper connected to a ground substrate. The new athletic floor incudes a channel section connected to the supporting sleeper, the channel section having a top plate located between and connected to each of a left vertical side wall spaced apart from a right vertical side wall. The left vertical side wall includes a left horizontal flange extending outward from the top plate and the right vertical side wall includes a right horizontal flange extending outward from the top plate. A left resilient pad rests on the left horizontal flange and a right resilient pad rests on the right horizontal flange. A new floor rests on the left resilient pad and the right resilient pad and is spaced from the top plate a first distance in a first resilient compression condition.

SHOCK ABSORBING MAT/TILE AND FLOOR COVERING EMPLOYING THE SAME
20200378138 · 2020-12-03 ·

A shock absorbing mat/tile comprises a body having a generally planar, major top surface and an opposite bottom surface and a plurality of shock absorbing members depending from the bottom surface. At least one of the shock absorbing members has at least one relief formation formed therein configured to accommodate lateral expansion of the shock absorbing member during axial compression thereof.

SUBFLOOR ASSEMBLY FOR ATHLETIC PLAYING SURFACE
20200378137 · 2020-12-03 ·

A subfloor assembly that supports a floor on a substrate. The assembly includes an upper profile panel, a lower profile panel, and a resilient member positioned therebetween. The upper profile panel has at least one upper protruding rib and an upper groove on each side of the upper protruding rib. The lower profile panel has at least one lower protruding rib and a lower groove on each side of the lower protruding rib. The resilient member is sandwiched therebetween and has a resilient elastic modulus that results in (i) the resilient member being spaced from the upper profile panel and from the lower profile panel when the subfloor assembly is in an unloaded state and (ii) the resilient member deforming and in contact with the upper profile panel and the lower profile panel when the subfloor assembly is in a loaded state.

Modular Sprung Floor

A method, system and apparatus for a modular sprung floor. An example embodiment is a sprung floor module having interchangeable components. Interchangeable components make up standardized assemblies. An example embodiment has a frame module that may be installed in a series to cover a given area. The frame and edge modules comprise a frame that supports a performance surface. Standardized components include fiber-reinforced composite linear-structural members combined with elastomeric joints and support members.
