A simple, hand-held tool for applying drywall compound or other spackle type cement or adhesive substance into a tight space through the entire length and height of the space, such as in a corner next to molding or other obstruction. The device as described may be fashioned in various widths at its applicator end to accommodate various widths of such spaces.

A hand tool is provided for the application of joint compound to drywall board joints, a planar blade affixed to a handle. The blade has a concave arcuate working edge, wherein the concave arcuate curve extends the entire length of the working edge to each corner of the working edge. The concave arcuate working edge may be used to apply a self-featured layer joint compound over drywall tape on planar butt joint or an inside corner joint. The blade is laterally flexible.

More specifically, a means of applying a predetermined formulation of dispensable compound material in liquefied form at continuous flow with simultaneous finishing characteristics thereby reducing labor intensity and maximizing finish quality to a level 5 standard.

The invention is hand tool and methods of use therefor for removing excess mastic and other debris from spacing between tiles. The device has a polygonal body, with a single projection extending from each side. Each projection has a different width and/or length, and is sized to fit in the spacing between adjacent tiles. Methods of installing and/or renovating and/or repairing tile with the hand tool are also disclosed.

A utility tool with at least one blade that is capable of being disposed at least partially within the body of the utility tool. The at least one blade may swivel around an access of rotation and engage with a locking mechanism to keep the blade secure when in use and secure in the body when in a closed position.

A sealant applicator for spreading caulk material along a surface of a structure. The sealant applicator has an attachment base with a channel through which the tapered nozzle of the sealant tube extends. The sealant applicator also has an application blade that extends from the upper surface of the attachment base. The application blade has a triangular-shaped blade with a distal tip and opposed lateral wings, for spreading caulk material that is dispensed from the tapered nozzle, along a surface of a structure, to cover and seal joints and crevices in the surface of a structure.

An automated insulation application system that includes a robotic arm and an insulation end effector coupled at a distal end of the robotic arm, the insulation end effector configured to apply insulation material to a target surface. The system can further include a computing device executing a computational planner that: generates instructions for driving the insulation end effector and robotic arm to perform at least one insulation application task that includes applying insulation material via the insulation end effector to a target surface, the generating based at least in part on obtained target surface data; and drives the end effector and robotic arm to perform the at least one insulation application task.

A hand held combined tool for drywall taping including a drywall tape applicator attached to a smoothening blade is described. The dry wall tape applicator includes a gated protrusion for feeding a dry wall tape through a ridged slot and to be held securely in position by a user before dipping the dry wall tape in a joint compound container to coat the dry wall tape with the joint compound on both side of the dry wall tape. The user then pulls the dry wall tape through the gated protrusion and the ridged slot to obtain a uniformly dual side coated drywall tape ready to be placed on a joint and to be immediately smoothened with the smoothening blade attached to the dry wall tape applicator.

A caulk smoothing device is provided for wetting and smoothing caulk after application. The caulk smoothing device comprises a body, an inlet port, and an outlet port. The body has an outer surface with a first portion having a tapered end suitable for contacting and smoothing caulk. The tapered end may include a smoothing tip designed to match the surface to which the caulk is applied. The body defines a chamber configured to be a reservoir to hold fluid. An inlet port is defined by the body which allows fluid to be introduced into the reservoir. The body further defines an outlet port in fluid flow communication between the reservoir and the first portion of the outer surface of the body.

A mechanism to secure the base of a pole to the lid of a flatbox finisher is provided. The mechanism utilizes at least one spring grasping device on the lid of the flat box finisher to grasp and secure the base of the pole. The grasping mechanism is depressed and grasps a generally flat rectangular edge of the base of the pole and secures the base of the pole to the lid of the flatbox finisher by friction. In particular, as the base having the pole of the flatbox finisher is first slid over the grasping mechanism, the grasping mechanism is first pushed downward. After the base slides over the grasping mechanism, the grasping mechanism springs back upward and locks the base of the pole into place on the lid of the flatbox finisher. Wing nuts may then be used to further secure the base of the pole to the lid of the flatbox finisher.
