WATER-SOLUBILIZED MIXTURE OF GINSENOSIDE COMPOUND K AND METHOD OF WATERSOLUBILIZING GINSENOSIDE COMPOUND K
Disclosed is a water-solubilized mixture of ginsenoside compound K manufactured by mixing hexanediol and polyol with ginsenoside compound K and then adding water, and a method of water-solubilizing ginsenoside compound K. The method includes manufacturing a mixture of ginsenoside compound K powder and hexanediol by adding hexanediol to ginsenoside compound K powder and performing mixing, manufacturing a mixture of ginsenoside compound K powder, hexanediol, and polyol by adding polyol to the mixture of ginsenoside compound K powder and hexanediol and performing mixing, and manufacturing an aqueous solution containing ginsenoside compound K by adding the mixture of ginsenoside compound K powder, hexanediol, and polyol to water at 65 to 75° C. during agitation and performing mixing. The water solubility of ginsenoside compound K is improved, and cosmetics including high concentrations of ginsenoside compound K are readily manufactured.
TOPICAL COMPOSITIONS FOR REDUCING THE EFFECTS OF AGING
The present invention comprises ternary compositions of tamibarotene and/or ammonium lactate in Pemulen for treatment of effects of aging.
Rinse-off cleansing compositions
The present invention relates to rinse-off cleansing compositions comprising a surfactant system, in which the surfactant system comprises an alkyl polyglycoside and an acyl glutamate present in specific amounts, for providing compositions that are not only mild on the skin and/or eyes that are stable especially under acidic pH conditions, but also have simpler formulations which have fewer ingredients, good rinse-off property, and preferably more cost effective.
DISINTEGRATING SOLID CONTAINING DISINTEGRANT COMPONENT AND MICROFIBROUS CELLULOSE
The present application provides a disintegrating particulate composition containing microfibrous cellulose; a disintegrating solid containing the composition; and the like.
Methods for treating scars and aging skin
Beneficial topical compositions for treating scar or aging skin are provided. In one embodiment, the compositions include Bulbine frutescens, Centella asiatica and a phenol derived from olives, such as oleuropein. The composition may be used in the treatment of scars formed during surgery. The composition may also be used cosmeceutically in the treatment of aged skin, and may include phosphatidylserine, vitamins, and other beneficial anti-aging ingredients.
Process for straightening keratin fibres with a composition comprising a urea and/or a urea derivative and a polymeric thickener
The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising: (a) at least 2% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition, of one or more compounds chosen from urea and/or urea derivatives, (b) one or more polymeric thickeners chosen from nonionic, cationic, amphoteric polymeric associative thickeners or anionic polymeric associative thickeners comprising one or more acrylic and/or methacrylic units. The invention also relates to the use of this composition for straightening keratin fibres. Finally the invention relates to a process for straightening keratin fibres.
ANTIMICROBIAL PERSONAL CLEANSING COMPOSITIONS
The invention provides an antimicrobial personal cleansing composition comprising: (i) an aqueous continuous phase including cleansing surfactant, (ii) a dispersed phase including dispersed particles of one or more zinc-containing antimicrobial agents; and (iii) a solubilised oily liquid conditioning agent for skin and/or hair; in which the oily liquid conditioning agent is light mineral oil having a kinematic viscosity of 3 to 5 cS (mm.sup.2.Math.s.sup.−1) at 40° C. and is solubilised in wormlike micelles in the aqueous continuous phase via the incorporation of at least one inorganic electrolyte and at least one linker molecule which is selected from compounds of general formula R(X).sub.n, in which R is an aryl ring having from 6 to 10 carbon atoms or a mono-, di- or trivalent alkyl or hydroxyalkyl chain having from 3 to 14 carbon atoms; n is 1 to 3 and each X is independently selected from —OH, —COOH and —COO.sup.−M.sup.+ groups, where M is an alkali metal, ammonium or alkanolammonium cation; and in which the level of solubilised oily liquid conditioning agent in the conditioning shampoo composition ranges from 0.45 to 3% by weight based on the total weight of the conditioning shampoo composition. The invention also provides the use of the composition described above for the enhanced deposition of one or more zinc-containing antimicrobial agents onto the skin and/or hair.
Highly branched alpha-D-glucans
Compositions including a highly branched alpha-D-glucan or modified forms thereof and a solute compound are described herein. The compositions can provide increased water solubility and/or increased rate of dissolution for the solute compound. The compositions can also provide increased stability for the solute compound. Methods for preparing and using compositions including a solute compound and a highly branched alpha-D-glucan are also described.
