A floor panel has a rectangular and oblong shape, and includes a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate and forming a decorative side of the floor panel. The top layer is composed of a print provided on a carrier sheet and a transparent thermoplastic layer situated above the print. The substrate has a thickness from 2 to 10 millimeter and forms at least half of the thickness of the floor panel. The substrate is a polyurethane-based substrate and the transparent thermoplastic layer is polyurethane-based. The floor panel has a length of more than 1.1 meters and has a plurality of reinforcing layers situated outside the center line of the substrate. A reinforcing layer may be provided in combination with the substrate and the top layer.

As opposed to running various data and/or power wires, a construction crew can use set of tiles that have built in data and/or power transmission capabilities. These tiles can be keyed such that they interlock together to form a relatively uniform surface, such that the surface can also be used as a floor. Further, the tiles can have hardware components that enable the data and/or power transmission capabilities. These hardware components can be environmentally protected such that their performance is not subject to environmental factors.

Panel and methods for manufacturing panels

A panel may include at a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate. The top layer may include a motif and a transparent or translucent synthetic material layer provided above the motif. The motif may be a print formed by digitally applying inks on the substrate with the intermediary of one or more primer layers extending underneath the print. The transparent or translucent synthetic material layer may include polypropylene and have a thickness of less than 1 millimeter.

A male connecting member is associated with an opposite lateral edge of the tile body, the male connecting member having a shape corresponding to a curved profile of a female connecting member of an adjacent tile to thereby mate with the adjacent floor tile. A draft angle of the female connecting member and the male connecting member may be substantially parallel.

The front and rear butting faces extend from the tile 2024/052006 top to the tile bottom, preferably over the entire height of the flooring tile. Each one the front butting faces and the rear butting faces has a top face portion (22a, 24a) adjacent the tile top and a bottom face portion (22b, 24b) adjacent the tile bottom.
