Surface underlayment system with interlocking resilient assemblies of shock tiles
A surface underlayment system and its method of manufacture that is sandwiched between an impact-receiving upper surface and a lower foundation. The energy absorbing system has subassemblies of interconnected modules that cooperate to absorb and distribute impact forces applied thereto. Each module has one or more frustoconical support structures. At least some of the frustoconical support structures have bases that underlie the upper impact-receiving surface such as a golf putting green, a football field, marine decking, and senior living flooring.
INTERLOCKING MODULAR MAT WITH SPONGE INSERT
An interlocking modular mat having four sides has female connectors on two sides and male connectors on the other two sides so that the modular mat can interlock with an adjacent mat and its connectors. The modular mat is configured with a plurality of structures surrounding a periphery of a top portion of the mat. The plurality of structures in combination with an underside of the top portion of the mat form a cavity. A sponge insert is configured to fit in the cavity and have a height such that a portion of the sponge insert extends from a bottom side the mat body. With the sponge insert extending beyond the bottom side of the mat body, the sponge insert bottom face generally become the supporting bottom of the modular mat to provide a more cushioned feel for a mat user.
Padded injury reducing non slip pool decking
A padded injury reducing non slip pool decking has an expanded polypropylene substrate as a core with its surfaces and a coating upon the surfaces adhered following skiving upon the surfaces. The present invention seeks to reduce slip injuries around a pool by providing a padded surface. The padded surface attenuates impact forces that occur when a person falls, or a body part of a person, hits the deck. The present invention provides a cushioning action that has increased energy absorption properties over the existing surfaces around swimming pools. The core utilizes expanded polypropylene melted from its pellet stage into generally slab form with a polyurethane coating. The coating has a precise mixture of three components and various additives. The components include methylenebis and isothianzolin and the additives include traction, tints, among other things.
Flooring construction and method
This invention relates to an assembly type floor panel that is easy to assemble, dismantle, and maintain, and that closely and nonadhesively contacts an underlying floor. The floor panel is composed of a base panel of elastic material, e.g., calcium carbonate, a stiffer panel on the upper side of the base panel and a sliding protective sheet on the bottom side of the base panel. Adjacent panels are joined by the cooperation of a projection and groove along an edge of one panel with a projection and groove along an edge of an adjacent panel. By virtue of the elasticity of the base panel and the protective sheet, the floor panel can closely contact an underlying floor, accommodate uneveness in the underlying floor, and conduct heat from the underlying floor.
Interdigitated cellular cushioning
An interdigitated cellular cushioning system includes an array of void cells protruding from each of two sheet layers interdigitated between the two sheet layers. Peaks of each of the void cells are attached to the opposite sheet layer forming the interdigitated cellular cushioning system. The interdigitated cellular cushioning system may be used to absorb and distribute a source of kinetic energy incident on the interdigitated cellular cushioning system (e.g., an impact or explosion) so that the amount of force transmitted through the interdigitated cellular cushioning system is low enough that it does not cause injury to personnel or damage to personnel and/or equipment adjacent the interdigitated cellular cushioning system.

STRUCTURAL PANEL
A structural panel includes a core and first and second facing sheets. The core has bonding surfaces on first and second, opposite sides thereof. The first facing sheet is a non-thermoplastic, fire retardant facing sheet having an inner surface bonded to the bonding surface on the first side. The second facing sheet is bonded to the bonding surface on the second side. The first facing sheet is fire retardant or non-flammable and the core is at least fire retardant. The structural panel finds particular utility as a building-cladding panel.

IMPACT DAMPING MAT, EQUIPMENT ACCESSORY AND FLOORING SYSTEM
An impact damping mat comprises a plurality of layers arranged in a stacked formation. The stacked formation has a total thickness of no greater than 4 and 7/16 inches. The plurality of layers cooperate to provide the impact damping mat with at least one of a coefficient of restitution no greater than 30% and a selected sound reduction characteristic. The selected sound reduction characteristic can be a reduction of a maximum sound level of at least 5 dB from 40 to 63 Hz 1/3 octave bands and at least 13 dB at and above 80 Hz 1/3 octave bands normalized to a conventional inch rollout rubber flooring product.
