Bleaching composition
The present invention relates to a bleaching composition for keratin fibres, especially human hair, comprising at least one compound with bleaching effect and two different silicate based alkalizing agents.
ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT
An antimicrobial agent contains amino acids extracted from grains as antimicrobial components. The antimicrobial agent includes a soybean-derived amino acid that functions as an antimicrobial component, extracted by separating solids from a grain solution to which a flocculent was added after heat treatment and filtration treatment. The antimicrobial composition also has butylene glycol, alkyldiaminoethylglycine hydrochloride, alkaline electrolyzed water, a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric ion surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, a chelating agent, and purified water.
Topical skin care formulations comprising plant extracts
A method for treating skin of a person is disclosed. The method can include topically applying to the skin of the person a composition comprising an effective amount of an aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic extract from Livistona chinensis, wherein the composition reduces tyrosinase activity or melanin production in the skin, increases antioxidant activity in the skin, and/or increases skin moisture content.
A LIQUID AND TRANSPARENT BLEND OF UV FILTERS
Suggested is a liquid and transparent blend of UV filters, comprising, consisting or essentially consisting of (a) at least one solid UVA filter dissolved in (b) at least one liquid UVB filter exhibiting a linear UV absorbance curve with a variance of +/−10% in the range of 290 to 360 nm as measured from a solution containing 10 mg/l of said mixture in ethanol, wherein said solid UVA filters are selected from the group consisting of Avobenzone, Bemotrizinol and mixtures thereof.
DISSOLVABLE SOLID ARTICLE CONTAINING ANTI-BACTERIAL ACTIVES
Disclosed is a dissolvable solid article, comprising by weight of the article: from about 10% to about 50% of a water soluble polymer; from about 20% to about 80% of a surfactant; from about 0.5% to about 2% of diaminocarboxylic acid chelants and salts thereof having an average molecular weight in acid form of from about 250 to about 450 daltons and having a weighted log P value at pH 4 of from about −12 to about −7; from about 0.1% to about 6% of an aromatic carboxylic acid and salts thereof having an average molecular weight in acid form of from about 100 to about 400 daltons and having a weighted log P value at pH 4 of from about −2 to about 4; from about 0.1% to about 18% of an non-aromatic organic alpha hydroxy acid and salts thereof; wherein the dissolvable solid article has a pH of from about 3 to about 5.1 when dissolved with 30 parts water to 1 part of the dissolvable solid article. The present invention provides dissolvable solid articles which provide anti-bacterial benefit even after dissolution of the articles, while controlling the concentration of anti-bacterial active ingredients in the solid articles.
USE OF A CREAM THAT PROTECTS AGAINST THE EFFECTS OF AGGRESSIVE CHEMICAL AGENTS IN CONTACT WITH THE SKIN
The use of an emulsion for protecting the skin against aggressive chemical agents, wherein this emulsion includes at least one amphoteric chelating agent which includes a complex based on aluminium and on ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or the trisodium salt thereof, having the general formula [Al(Y)B.sub.n].sup.C′D.sub.c with B being OH.sup.−, BO.sub.2.sup.− or H.sup.+, Y being a tetracarboxylate which can be protonated four times to form ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, n being an integer equal to 0, 1, 2 or 3, D being a counterion, preferably Na.sup.+, c being an integer equal to 0, 1, 2 or 3 and c′ being a relative number having the same absolute value as c.
DEODORANT AND ANTIPERSPIRANT COMPOSITIONS
A deodorant stick having a substituted or unsubstituted 2-pyridinol-N-oxide material and at least one material selected from the group consisting of hexamidine, magnesium carbonate, zinc carbonate, thymol, magnesium hydroxide, dead sea salt, calcium carbonate, polyvinyl formate, salycilic acid, niacinamide, and combinations thereof.
Personal care compositions including naringin:zinc complexes and methods for the same
Personal care compositions including a naringin:zinc complex and methods for preparing and using the same are provided. The personal care compositions may include a carrier and a naringin:zinc complex having a 2:1 naringin to zinc molar ratio.
Compositions and methods for reducing oral biofilm
Compositions comprising iron-sequestering glycoproteins, chelating agents, stabilizing agents, binding agents, surfactants, fluorides, antimicrobials and a pH adjuster or buffer for the prevention and treatment of oral cavity diseases caused by dental plaque/biofilm, such as dental caries, gingivitis and periodontitis, through anti-infective properties are disclosed. The anti-infective properties of a composition include reduction or killing of anaerobic/aerobic/facultative gram-negative and gram-positive oral bacteria occurring in polymicrobial dental biofilms. The composition may be in the form of wash, rinse, soak, paste, gel, spray, or other suitable form. Additionally, the invention offers an efficient method of delivering the formulated composition containing a PEGylated or fluorinated iron-sequestering glycoprotein and one or two chelating agents or chelating agents alone using either a liposomal or a nanoparticle delivery system.
TOPICAL SKIN CARE FORMULATIONS COMPRISING PLANT EXTRACTS
A method for treating skin of a person is disclosed. The method can include topically applying to the skin of the person a composition comprising an effective amount of an aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic extract from Callicarpa macrophylla, wherein the composition reduces TNF-α activity in skin, increases antioxidant activity in the skin, and/or increases skin moisture content.
