The scissor lift includes a horizontally collapsible base, a vertically collapsible frame mounted on the base, a horizontally foldable platform mounted on top of the vertically collapsible frame, and a plurality of wheels mounted on the base. The horizontally and vertically collapsible scissor lift is steerable and the plurality of wheels may be coupled such that they each rotate about a vertical axis synchronously with respect to one another to steer the lift. Further, at least one of the wheels may be self-driving to controllably propel the horizontally and vertically collapsible scissor lift. One or more winches with associated cables may be used to selectively raise and lower the vertically collapsible frame.

The present invention is an improved apparatus and method for forming a retractable tower or column. The present invention includes pointed hooks wherein the hooks are attached to each section of a section chain, one in a horizontal direction and one in an off-set manner. The section chains are placed on a take up mechanism in an operable position and then raised utilizing a motor. As the section chains are raised, they are guided by a guide tower, rollers, shims, and gear racks into a position whereby hooks from adjacent sections of the section chains form coupled engagements. The coupled engagement of the hooks of the sections of each adjacent section chains thereby form the column.

An access deck assembly is provided for an aerial lift vehicle mobile platform. A base member defines an upper surface to support an operator, and has first and second guides to cooperate with the platform. A locking mechanism is supported by the base member and retains the access deck to the platform. A method of connecting an access deck assembly to a mobile platform is provided. The access deck assembly is positioned relative to the platform to be above and spaced apart from the platform floor surface, with the base member of the access deck assembly substantially within a perimeter frame of the platform. An access deck assembly has a guide member connected to a base member and configured to connect the base member to the mobile platform and support the base member directly above and spaced apart from the platform floor surface.

The invention relates to an aerial work platform including: a frame (1) mounted on wheels (4, 5); a work platform (3) mounted on a lifting mechanism (2); two side bars (10) arranged under the frame and movable relative to said frame between: either a raised position, and/or a lowered position in which said bars extend past the frame toward the ground; and an actuator (30) assigned solely to actuating the two bars to move said bars between these two positions, the actuator having two opposite ends by means of which said actuator moves the two bars by varying the distance between the two ends. The actuator moves each of the two bars by means of another of the two ends and is maintained only by the two ends. This actuation device is particularly simple, compact, and cost effective.

The present invention relates to a novel utility scaffold device. The device is a multifunctional scaffolding featuring a set of detachable steps and a slide locking gate. The utility scaffold device comprises a base component which is a workspace that is approximately six feet in length and three feet wide. Further, a horizontal bar positioned around the base component is secured by four vertical bars, to provide a handrail for the user. Additionally, four vertical legs are secured on the underside of the base component with a large wheel at each end for facilitating movement over any type of terrain. The base component also comprises a locking gate that provides entrance to the base component and a set of detachable stairs in front of the gate to allow a user to easily enter and exit the device.
