COSMETIC COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
It is described here a cosmetic composition and its use for the reduction of dermatological disorders resulting from the use of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), while maintaining their effectiveness in the cell renewal process. In particular, said composition comprises one or more AHA compounds as active ingredients, wherein preferably the AHA compounds are glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid and malic acid. Additionally, said composition comprises one or more polyhydroxy acid (PHAs) compounds, wherein preferably the PHA compound is lactobionic acid.
BARRIER GUARD TECHNOLOGY
Disclosed is a method of treating skin. The method can include applying to skin a composition including cholesterol, ceramide II, and shea butter, wherein the composition comprises a wt. % ratio of cholesterol:ceramide II:shea butter of 3:1:1.
REDNESS CORRECTING SKIN CARE FORMULATIONS
In some embodiments, soothing redness correction formulations are provided. In other embodiments, formulations to treat skin discoloration via a multi-modal approach are provided in some embodiments in which select ingredients work together to effectively brighten skin and treat hyperpigmentation. In yet other embodiments, certain formulations are renewal formulations adapted to treat the eye area to, for example, reduce laxity, puffiness, wrinkles and/or dark circles around the eye.
SKIN CARE FORMULATIONS
Skin care formulations that function via a multi-modal approach are provided in some embodiments in which select ingredients work together to protect skin from ultraviolet light, hydrates the skin and provides antioxidant properties.
Pawpaw and/or peach derived composition
There is provided a process for making a composition suitable for topical application comprising the steps of a) heating at least one fruit and/or vegetable pulp to up to a temperature in the range of about 40 C. to 100 C.; b) mixing between 1 and 40% w/w of a mild base with the heated fruit and/or vegetable pulp. There is also provided a fruit and/or vegetable derived composition suitable for topical application prepared by the above process. There is further provided a fruit and/or vegetable derived composition comprising at least one fruit and/or vegetable-derived pulp and a mild base, said composition having a pH in the range of about 7.5 to about 9.5.
Oil-in-water emulsions enriched with salt which are highly viscous and stable over time
Disclosed is a composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, including: 5-55 wt % of an oil phase; 0.025-3.75 wt % of at least one cross-linked anionic polyelectrolyte resulting from the polymerization of partially or completely salified 2-methyl 2-[(1-oxo 2-propenyl) amino] 1-propanesulfonic acid, with at least one neutral monomer selected from acrylamide, (2-hydroxy ethyl) acrylate, and N,N-dialkyl arylamides. Each alkyl group includes 1-4 carbon atoms, and at least one monomer, where R is an alkyl radical including 8-20 carbon atoms and n is a number no smaller than one and no larger than twenty, in the presence of a cross-linking agent; 0.025-3.75 wt % of a galactomannan having a degree of substitution of approximately 1/3; 37.5-94.95 wt % of a cosmetically acceptable aqueous phase, the aqueous phase including 1-25 wt % of a salt, the weight ratio between the galactomannan and the cross-linked anionic polyelectrolyte being 1:3 to 3:1.
SUNSCREEN
As people age, the microbiome of human skin changes through processes of selection due both to external and intrinsic factors. While human lifespan is finite determined by the inevitable decay of human cellular and genomic structures, the lifespan and aging of the microbiome is more ecological in nature, driven by selective pressures both connected and unconnected to human's own aging.
Through the manipulation of the microbiome, using corollaries of processes used in ecosystem restoration, this invention includes ways, compositions and formulations to restore the microbiome of the skin allowing the skin to be in a more youthful and/or native state and prevent or reverse some of the undesirable appearances of aging. The invention described herein restores a putative ancestral microbiome function and thus protects the skin from damage caused by the UV rays present in sunshine.
Hair care solid granules that sustain essential oils and or plant herbal extracts that emulsify in water creating therapeutic solution
A hair care product comprising 100% plant derived, biodegradable solid granules that sustain beneficial essential oils or herbal extracts that emulsify in water to create an emulsified therapeutic solution is disclosed. The hair care product improves over existing liquids in that its solid granule form is completely plant derived and biodegradable and can sustain essential oils and antioxidants without the requirement of chemical preservatives, and can be packaged in eco-friendly water soluble film and compostable paper. It improves over existing solid forms in that it is a 100% water soluble granule that emulsifies easily in water to form an easy to use liquid product.
