ALCOHOL CONTAINING NON-ANTIMICROBIAL CLEANSING COMPOSITION
A non-antimicrobial cleansing composition is disclosed comprising from about 10.0 wt. % to less than about 40 wt. % of one or more C.sub.1-C.sub.8 alcohols; about 0.5 wt. % to about 10.0 wt. % of at least one primary surfactant; 0 wt. % to about 10.0 wt. % of at least one secondary surfactant, with the primary and secondary surfactants having an HLB value greater than 8; a pH adjusting agent; and water. The composition does not achieve a microbial kill level greater than 2.0 log.
SILICONE-FREE ANTIPERSPIRANT AND DEODORANT COMPOSITIONS
Described herein are antiperspirant and deodorant compositions which are advantageously free of silicone. Particular embodiments concern silicone-free compositions comprising at least one emollient, at least one structuring agent, and at least one natural or synthetic wax, wherein the at least one emollient comprises isoamyl laurate. Embodiments also concern silicone-free antiperspirant and deodorant compositions comprising a plurality of emollients, the plurality of emollients comprising isoamyl laurate. Also described are methods for making these compositions and others. Also described are uses of the silicone-free compositions for manufacturing antiperspirant sticks or antiperspirant creams, and/or for controlling malodors and transpiration.
COMPOSITION FOR SUPPRESSING SKIN IRRITATION OR INHIBITING SEBUM SECRETION
The disclosure relates to the method for alleviating skin irritation or inhibiting sebum production, which includes administering a composition including a compound represented by Chemical Formula 1, a salt thereof, a stereoisomer thereof, a hydrate thereof, or a solvate thereof as an active ingredient to a subject in need of alleviating skin irritation or inhibiting sebum production, and specifically the composition can alleviate the irritation of the skin stimulated by ultraviolet rays, and more specifically, the composition can alleviate the skin irritation by reducing inflammatory factors in the cells of the skin stimulated by simultaneous stimulation of UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays, and in addition, specifically, it is possible to suppress the sebum production by inhibiting intracellular lipid synthesis with the composition, and more specifically, the sebum production of the skin can be suppressed by reducing the expression level of the factors related to intracellular lipid synthesis with the composition.
BOTANICAL AND BACTERIAL EXTRACTS DISPLAYING RETINOL-LIKE ACTIVITY
Provided are botanical or bacterial extracts and methods of treating skin and other tissues by applying certain botanical or bacterial extracts, such as from Acronychia acidula, Licaria vernicosa, Calendula officinalis, Trigonella foenum-graecum or Actimomyces bacteria, to the skin or other tissue.
Topical skin care formulations comprising plant extracts
Disclosed is a method for treating skin. The method can include topically applying to skin a composition comprising an effective amount of an aqueous, alcoholic, aqueous-alcoholic, or oil-soluble extract from Condurango, wherein the Condurango extract reduces oxidation in the skin, reduces tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) activity in the skin, or reduces matrix metalloprotease (MMP) 3 activity in the skin.
Protective skin compositions
The subject of the present invention is cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions which are protective against common skin irritants or allergens. The invention is also directed to the use of these compositions to protect skin from the effects of metal. Another object of the invention is a method of preventing or protecting the skin from the effects of metal, using the compositions of the invention.
Compositions and methods for invasive and non-invasive procedural skincare
Compositions and methods for skincare treatment are provided. The invention relates more generally to skin care treatment and more particularly, to compositions and methods for promoting healthy skin, skin regeneration, skin repair, skin bed preparation, and enhanced wound healing.
Relation to the manufacture of personal cleansing compositions
The invention relates to a method of making solid cleansing compositions which comprise a non-soap anionic surfactant, a carrier, an emulsifier and water. The method entails preparing an emulsion of the components at an elevated temperature using excess water and subjecting the emulsion to cooling and solidification, wherein the water content is reduced. The invention further relates to the emulsions and to the novel solid cleansing compositions formed therefrom.
Stable Silk Protein Fragment Compositions
A composition is disclosed that includes pure silk fibroin-based protein fragments that are substantially devoid of sericin, wherein the composition has an average weight average molecular weight ranging from about 17 kDa to about 38 kDa, wherein the composition has a polydispersity of between about 1.5 and about 3.0, wherein the composition is substantially homogeneous, wherein the composition between 0 ppm to about 500 ppm of inorganic residuals, and wherein the composition includes between 0 ppm to about 500 ppm of organic residuals.
Composition comprising hyaluronic acid and mepivacaine
Compositions and methods for the surface appearance of the skin a subject are provided. An injectable composition comprising at least hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof; and an effective amount of at least mepivacaine or a salt thereof are provided. The hyaluronic acid optionally has an average molecular weight ranging from 50,000 to 10,000,000 Daltons, and may be crosslinked hyaluronic acids, non-crosslinked hyaluronic acids, or a combination, in some embodiments. The compositions and methods of the present invention are useful for treating and preventing the cutaneous signs of chronological aging and/or induced by external factors such as stress, air pollution, tobacco or prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) exposure, impaired surface appearance of the skin, impaired viscoelastic or biomechanical properties of the skin, and/or the long-lasting filling of volume defects of the skin.
