SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FALL PROTECTION OF WORKERS AT A CONSTRUCTION SITE
A fall protection system can include towers configured to be coupled together with horizontal lifelines. Each tower can have a base removably coupled to a bottom of the frame. A lower slip sleeve can be slidably coupled to the base. The lower slip sleeve can have an elongate opening extending therethrough. An internal piece can be slidably received in the elongate opening and coupled to the lower slip sleeve. In addition, an upper slip sleeve can be coupled to an exterior of the internal piece such that the upper slip sleeve is not movable relative to the internal piece. Further, a mount plate can be slidably coupled to an exterior of the upper slip sleeve and mounted to a top of the frame. Finally, a stanchion can be slidably received in the upper elongate opening and coupled to the upper slip sleeve.
Fall restraint apparatus and associated systems and methods
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for preventing a user from moving beyond a first distance from a support structure. The apparatus comprises an extension member, comprising a first end and a second end that is opposite the first end. The first end is configured to be fixed to the support structure. The second end is movable relative to the first end along a plane and the second end is configured to extend away from the first end to an extended position and retract from the extended position towards the first end to a retracted position. The apparatus also comprises a flexible tether, having a fixed length and comprising an anchor end, attached to the second end of the extension member, and a user end, configured to attach to a user. The extended position is no more than a second distance away from the first end. The sum of the fixed length and the second distance is less than the first distance.
Personal safety apparatus and system
A personal safety apparatus and systems include a mast connected to a base. The mast includes a plurality of mast sections and is vertically extendable from the base between a collapsed position and an extended position. A jib is rotatably connected to the mast. The jib is moveable between a first position wherein the jib is generally parallel to the mast and a second position wherein the jib extends outward from the mast. The jib includes a first jib arm and a second jib arm. The second jib arm is moveable relative to the first jib arm. An anchor point is secured to the jib. The anchor point is configured to connect to a cable configured to secure to a person.
Line securing device
A securing device for securing a person has an axle element attached torque-proofly to a rope drum and rotatably to a support structure, such that, by the axle element, the rope drum is supported rotatably at the support structure. A lever is attached pivotably to the support structure at a deflection point. In a blocking position of the lever, a blocking section is coupled to the rope drum in order to disable a rotation of the rope drum, and in a releasing position of the lever, the blocking section is decoupled from the rope drum and the rope drum is rotatable. A thread section of the lever is coupled to a further thread section of the axle element, such that, upon rotation of the axial element, due to the rotation of the rope drum, the thread section is shifted along the axle element, such that, due to the shifting of the thread section, a rotation of the lever around the deflection point and an adjustment between the blocking position and the releasing position of the lever are effected.
PROTECTIVE DEVICE TO PREVENT PERSONS FROM FALLING
A protective device to prevent persons from falling has a base and an anchor mast system in connection with the base. On a free upper end of the anchor mast system, personal protective equipment (PPE) is fastened at an anchor point. To increase stability, the anchor mast system is provided with a lower standing section and a cantilever section. The standing section and the cantilever section are pivoted by a pivot drive relative to each other and relative to the base such that the anchor point in connection with the PPE is displaced downwards and away from the tilting edge of the base. This reduces the total height of the protective device, and increases the stability in the event of load in the region of the anchor point, while the weight of the protective device, particular also of the base, is reduced.
Integrated safety rail protection system
A safety rail protection system disclosed herein is adaptable to be positioned adjacent to a portal. The system may include a hinged gate having an opening and first and second opposing members, with the hinged gate being operable to open from a closed position to an open position. A first side rail may be present, and may include a first side gate projection extending at least partially into the hinged gate opening, with the first side rail interfacing with at least one of the first and second opposing members when the hinged gate is in the closed position. A second side rail may be present, and may include a second side gate projection extending at least partially into the hinged gate opening when the hinged gate is in the closed position.
RETRACTABLE LIFELINE ASSEMBLY
A retractable lifeline assembly includes a housing including a sidewall, a rotatable member inside the housing, a first engaging mechanism coupled to the rotatable member, and a crank including a crank handle and a second engaging mechanism. The crank is pivotally coupled to the sidewall such that the crank is selectively movable between a first crank position, in which the second engaging mechanism is engaged with the first engaging mechanism, and a second crank position, in which the second engaging mechanism is disengaged from the first engaging mechanism. The crank handle selectively engages the first engaging mechanism when the crank is in the first crank position to rotate the rotatable member.
Safety barrier netting system
A system for substantially enclosing the periphery of a building top with a netting system which is easily and efficiently movable or reconfigurable during the building construction process comprises a lightweight netting system for extending above a completed work area or floor, a strong lightweight structural support system for the netting, wherein the structural support system is vertically adjustable via slidable engagement with brackets attached to the floors which are already completed, provides enhanced safety for workers and for pedestrians below by preventing passage of workers or debris through the netting and enhances efficiency of construction by providing an easily reconfigurable, inexpensive and lightweight system for providing such enhanced safety.
Rebar biter
A device may include an anchor point operationally connected to a rebar, an E-clamp coupled to the anchor point, and a forcing handle configured to tighten the E-clamp to the rebar.
Rope based fall protection device
A rope based fall protection device including a rotation unit, a brake unit, and a rope. A first end of the rope is connected to the rotation unit. The rope includes a first rope loop and a second rope loop that are wound around the rotation unit. A first retaining portion of a retaining ring is sleeved on the first rope loop and a second retaining portion thereof is sleeved on the second rope loop, such that the rope forms a rope section which has a fixed length between the second retaining portion and the first end and is wound around the rotation unit. When a free end of the rope is pulled by an external force to release the rope wound around the rotation unit in a direction away from the rotation unit, the retaining ring is broken to release the rope section of the rope. The external force is greater than or equal to a pulling force generated by a user's free fall. By releasing the rope section of the rope, the rotation unit rotates and simultaneously drives the brake unit to rotate to slow down or stop the rotation of the rotation unit.
