In at least one embodiment, a lifeline comprises a wire rope and a shock absorber. In some embodiments, the shock absorber comprises a tubular body defining a lumen therethrough. The tubular body defines a longitudinal axis comprising curvature along its length. The wire rope extends through the lumen of the shock absorber.

Insulated Trellis Mat

An electrically insulated trellis comprises a first array of parallel tubular members 2 and a second array of parallel tubular members 4. Each of the second array of parallel tubular members 4 is pivotably connected to a plurality of the first array of parallel tubular members 2 whereby to form a trellis 1. Each of the tubular members is formed from glass-reinforced polymer. A first set of fibres in the glass-reinforced polymer are substantially parallel and aligned in a first direction and a second set of fibres in the glass-reinforced polymer, distinct from the first set, are substantially parallel and aligned in a second direction different to the first direction.

Modular building construction using composite interconnected frame panels
10253465 · 2019-04-09 ·

A building module for use in construction of a structure incorporating a plurality of said modules which together form at least part of the structure. Each building module comprises a first peripheral frame of a first size defining a space which receives a layer of barrier material, a second peripheral frame of a second size defining a space which receives a layer of barrier material and which is joined at a first junction to the first peripheral frame of the first size in abutting end to end relationship to form a first auxiliary module. A third peripheral frame has the same size as the first peripheral frame and which defines a space which receives a layer of barrier material. A fourth peripheral frame has the same size as the second peripheral frame and which defines a space which receives a layer of barrier material and which is joined at a second junction to the third peripheral frame of the first size in abutting end to end relationship to form a second auxiliary module. The first and second auxiliary modules are attached side by side to form said building module; wherein the first and second auxiliary modules are attached to each other so that the first and second junctions are staggered along the length of the structure.

Rough-in box for creating penetrations in poured concrete flooring and method of use

A rough-in box used during the construction of buildings having poured concrete flooring, such as multi-story high-rise buildings. The rough-in box may be used to retain an opening in the floor through which plumbing and mechanical components may be installed after concrete has been poured around the device and hardens into a slab. The present invention also relates to a method comprising the steps of assembling the side walls of a box, placing a lid made of a material stronger than that of the side wails and capable of supporting a weight of 2,000 pounds, placing the box over a hole on the floor, and pouring concrete to form a floor around the box. The box will remain in place providing an accessible penetration through the flooring with space for plumbing connections and a flush surface with the floor over which pallet jacks and workers may travel without obstruction.

Recessed concrete anchor

A fall protection permanently embedded safety anchor comprises a unitary housing having outwardly diverging side walls and an interior cavity. Opposed apertures in the side walls receive a uniformly curved retaining bar, the ends of which extend outside the cavity and are embedded in the concrete. The anchor may be easily installed stored and transported and installed in the field. The side walls terminate in an outwardly extending collar that receives a cover that is flush with the surrounding concrete surface.

Temporary barrier post
10233667 · 2019-03-19 ·

A temporary barrier post having a main pole, adjustable post, and bracing shaft. A joint assembly is supported on and can slide axially along the main pole. An end of the adjustable post is connected to the joint assembly such that the adjustable post can rotate relative to the joint assembly. A coupler is fixed to the adjustable post axially between the proximate and remote ends such that the bracing shaft is pivotally connected to the adjustable post. The temporary barrier post is adjustable between an expanded condition, in which the adjustable post extends laterally relative to the main pole, the bracing shaft is oblique relative to the adjustable post, and the adjustable post and the bracing shaft retain the main pole in a set location via the joint assembly, and a collapsed condition, in which the main pole, the adjustable post, and the bracing shaft are parallel.

FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM

The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.

Hazard warning system

A flooring element is used in a raised floor having removable flooring panels and a supporting structure and having a load bearing surface. The flooring element includes a roll of flexible sheet material mounted on the flooring element. The flooring element may include a flooring stringer or an insert. After removal of an overlying flooring panel to reveal an opening to a sub-floor void, the roll of flexible sheet material may be extended from the roll and affixed to an attachment means at an opposite side of the opening so as to substantially cover the opening and provide a warning of a removed panel.

Safety band longitudinal and transverse control

This invention provides fall protection systems comprising a suspension fabric, supported by a grid-work of longitudinal and lateral bands, in metal building construction. The fall protection system uses safety clips to attach lateral bands to intermediate purlins, and also provides novel attachments of the lateral bands to eaves and ridges whereby the respective eave and/or the ridge absorbs an enhanced portion of the force of impact when an object falls onto the fall protection system. The invention further provides methods of installing such systems, and buildings embodying such systems.
