COMPOSITE SLEEVE ROD AXIAL DAMPENER FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES
Axial buckling restrained braces are provided. In various embodiments, a device comprises a plurality of cylindrical sleeves arranged parallel to each other. Each of the plurality of sleeves has an interior surface defining an interior region. A plastically deformable rod is arranged within the interior region of each of the plurality of sleeves. The plastically deformable rod is adapted to assume a helical shape upon compression.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRESTRESSED STRUCTURES AND STRUCTURAL PARTS BY MEANS OF SMA TENSION ELEMENTS, AND STRUCTURE AND STRUCTURAL PART EQUIPPED THEREWITH
The method includes a tension element, for example in the form of flat steel, that is placed on the structure or structural part and can be guided around a corner. The flat steel can also wrap as a band around the structure, in which the two ends of the flat steel are either connected to one another or are separately connected to the structure by the end anchors or intersect to produce a clamping connection. The flat steel contracts as a result of a subsequent active and controlled input of heat using a heating element and generates a permanent tensile stress and, correspondingly, a permanent prestress on the structure. The structure, as equipped, has at least one tension element as a shape memory alloy which extends along the outer side of the structure and is connected by one or more end anchors
Panel-to-panel connections for stay-in-place liners used to repair structures
A stay-in-place lining is provided for lining a structure fabricated from concrete. The lining comprises a plurality of panels connectable via complementary connector components on their longitudinal edges. Each panel comprises a first connector component on a first longitudinal edge thereof and a second (complementary) connector component on a second longitudinal edge thereof. The lining comprises at least one edge-to-edge connection between the first connector component of a first panel and the second connector component of a second panel, the edge-to-edge connection comprising a protrusion of the first panel extended into a receptacle of the second panel through a receptacle opening. The receptacle is shaped to prevent removal of the protrusion from the receptacle and the receptacle is resiliently deformed by the extension of the protrusion into the receptacle to thereby apply a restorative force to the protrusion to maintain the edge-to-edge connection.
Systems for restoring, repairing, reinforcing, protecting, insulating and/or cladding structures with locatable stand-off components
Apparatus covering at least a portion of a surface of an existing structure with a repair structure comprise: a plurality of longitudinally and transversely extending panels connected to one another in edge-adjacent relationship; and a plurality of standoffs connected to the panels and extending from the panels toward the existing structure. Each panel comprises a panel connector component which extends longitudinally along the panel and from an interior surface of the panel toward the existing structure, and each standoff comprises a standoff connector component complementary to the panel connector component. The connector components are shaped such that a connection formed therebetween comprises deformation of at least one of the panel connector component and the standoff connector component and creates corresponding restorative deformation forces that prevent relative movement between the panel and the standoff under the force of gravity.
Fiber reinforced anchors and connectors, methods of making anchors and connectors, and processes for reinforcing a structure
A method of anchoring surface mounted strengthening systems to a structural member being repaired/strengthened or connecting the surface mounted strengthening systems to adjacent structural members to provide force-transfer or terminating a surface-mounted strengthening system includes drilling a hole in an existing structural member and inserting a portion of a fiber-reinforced anchor or connector into the hole in the existing structural member. The anchor or connector includes a bundle of fibers/rovings, and the portion includes rovings encapsulated in a pre-cured adhesive to form a reinforced portion having a desired cross-sectional size and shape to be received by the hole. The method further includes splaying free ends of the fibers/rovings at an end of the anchor and adhering the splayed ends of the fibers/rovings onto the surface-mounted strengthening system of the strengthened member or onto adjacent members with adhesive.
VIBRATION DAMPING DEVICE FOR STRUCTURE
A vibration damping device for a structure 1 includes a circular tubular member 3 having a circular tubular inner peripheral surface 2; a columnar elongated member 6 which is disposed in the circular tubular member 3 relatively movably in a direction X with respect to the circular tubular member 3 and having a circular tubular outer peripheral surface 5; and a circular tubular elastic member 10 which has a circular tubular member outer peripheral surface 8 fixed to the inner peripheral surface 2 of the circular tubular member 3 and a circular tubular member inner peripheral surface 9 fixed to the circular tubular outer peripheral surface 5 of the elongated member 6, and which is disposed between the inner peripheral surface 2 of the circular tubular member 3 and the outer peripheral surface 5 of the elongated member 6.
On-Site Construction and Repair of Structural Elements and Pipes of any Desired Diameter with Reusable Materials
A method and an article of manufacture are disclosed for constructing, reinforcing, and repairing various structural elements such as columns, piles and the like using formworks that are reusable. The reusable articles of manufacture employed in the disclosed methods are or, if desired, may be permanently left in place. Same or similar methods and articles of manufacture may be employed to easily construct pipes of any desired diameter in a very short time.
CONCRETE WALL STABILIZING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Concrete wall supports that reduce or eliminate wall movement due to exterior horizontal forces. One support is a bracket mounted to a floor joist with a plate extending below the top of the wall and two legs extending from the plate and attaching to the joist. One leg is above the concrete wall on one horizontal side of the plate, and the other leg is on the opposite side of the plate. Another support has a plate that extends below the top of the wall with two legs on opposite sides of the joist above the wall. A leg attaches to the lower edge of the joist. A support against shear forces includes a highly water permeable aggregate composite disposed in the voids of the wall, with a supportive strip that is enclosed in the aggregate composite and extends out of the voids to the face of the wall.

EARTHQUAKE ISOLATOR
Invention; is related to isolators eliminating circular forces caused by earthquake forces acting on the building. It is placed between foundation of structures manufactured by steel construction, concrete, prefabricated structure or other methods and structure and which reduces/terminates impact of earthquakes on structures. Thus, damage to be given by earthquake to carrying elements of building is eliminated.
