METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING LINEAR TRENCHES IN CONCRETE
20180347124 · 2018-12-06 ·

A portable apparatus and method for cutting linear trenches in a concrete ground surface includes two bars extending in parallel spaced relation along the concrete with an elongated track removably fastened and extending orthogonally thereto. A trolley supporting a motor-driven cutting wheel is movably engaged with the track. A depth adjuster alternately lowers and raises the cutting wheel to engage and disengage the concrete while the trolley follows contours of the concrete to cut a kerf of uniform depth. The track is selectively movable to spaced locations along the lengths of the two bars to cut a first plurality of parallel kerfs in a first direction. The apparatus is rotatable about a vertical axis to cut a second plurality of parallel kerfs oriented in a second direction at a predetermined angle, e.g., 90 degrees, to the first direction, to form a simulated tile pattern in the concrete.

Arris protection joint

The joint comprises a pair (12, 14) of complementary engineering grade polymer injection moldings. Each molding is comprised of generally equal length oblique webs (15), set at 60 to a mid-plane (16) of the assembled joint, shorter, inner webs (17) and a longer, outer webs (18). Centrally of each outer web (18) is an aperture (21) and centrally of each inner web is a pin (22) with a step (23) and a pointed head (24). The heads of one molding clip into the apertures of the other while the steps determine their separation gap (25). The trapezium wave shape of the joint provides re-entrants (31) from the plane of the outer webs (18) towards that of the inner webs. Outwards of the re-entrants extend anchoring formations (33). Behind each re-entrant these formations are joined by a tab (34).

LOAD-CARRYING CONCRETE FLOOR STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR BUILDING THE LOAD-CARRYING CONCRETE FLOOR STRUCTURE
20180283024 · 2018-10-04 ·

A construction process for enhancing or repairing a concrete floor structure that includes a carbon fiber grid as a reinforcement component is disclosed. The process includes forming a trench at a top surface of the concrete floor structure, and placing a reinforcement material in the formed trench. Then, a concrete bonding agent is applied into the trench. Then, the trench is filled with concrete. As a result, the concrete floor structure is enhanced or repaired to have at least one additional reinforcement component other than the carbon fiber grid.

A dispensing device is provided that has a nozzle that can mix together liquid reactants to dispense an expandable foam substance through concrete structures. The device features a liquid storage portion, a mixing portion and a dispensing portion. The storage portion includes liquid storage chambers in communication with a liquid passageway. The mixing portion has a mixing tube and a static mixer. The mixing tube has an elongated body with an interior passageway between opposing first and second ends. The static mixer is housed within the interior passageway of the mixing tube and features a plurality of curved baffles. The dispensing portion has a reservoir and a nozzle tip. The reservoir features a first end secured to the mixing tube and a second end communicating with a nozzle tip. The nozzle tip features a plurality of tine segments with each segment having a distal tip with an external gripping flange.

Method for modifying concrete slab on subsided ground

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for accurately modifying a concrete slab on subsided ground by injecting an expandable resin below the concrete slab more than once, which also allows for easy control of the work process. The method of the present invention as a means for resolution includes performing the following steps: on a concrete slab in an area including a region where ground subsidence has occurred, determining points to drill injection holes for injecting an expandable resin at a pitch of 0.5 to 2.0 m in a grid pattern; injecting an expandable resin below a point where the subsidence of the concrete slab is severest and expanding the expandable resin to push up the concrete slab at most 30 mm more than once.

Method and apparatus to fill and fire proof holes in concrete floors

The present apparatus and method relates in general to sealing a hole in a floor with a precast plug. A precast plug is created by pouring a wet aggregate mix into a form mold and thereafter inserting a pre formed rod into the uncured mixture, positioning it such that the center of the rod rests in the center of the form mold and the ends of the rod extend outward near the top of the form mold. The mix is then cured. The precast plug may then be transported to the hole that it is destined to fix. Grooves may be carved on either side of the hole to accommodate the rod's ends. The interior of the hole and the exterior of the plug may then be covered with a sealant, after which the plug may be inserted into the hole. Once the sealant cures, the hole is fully repaired.

System and method for plugging core holes
09695607 · 2017-07-04 · ·

A system, device, and method for plugging core holes. A core hole plug includes a top compression plate, a bottom compression plate, and a rubber expansion ring that separates the top and bottom compression plates. A beveled screw hole can be created on the top compression plate. The beveled screw hole matches the angle of the bottom surface of the head of a flat head bolt to ensure that the bolt remains flush with the top compression plate. The rubber expansion ring can be squeezed between the top and bottom compression plates as the flat head bolt is screwed into a threaded receiver nut formed on the bottom compression plate. An installation tool can be utilized to install the core hole plug so that the top compression plate remains flush with an existing floor surface.
