Floating dispensers

A floating dispenser having an external float or an internal float for supporting a cartridge or cartridges for floatingly delivering a dispersant or dispersants to a body of water with the floating dispenser having cartridges rotationally positionable with respect to one another to control the rate of dispensing while the dispenser floats in an upright condition with the floating dispenser changing its flotation orientation in response to consumption of the dispersant or dispersants in the a cartridge to thereby provide a visual alert to replace a spent cartridge with a fresh cartridge. In addition, the inventions described herein permit changing the dispensing nature of the system from a multiple dispensing system to a single dispensing system without changing the floating characteristics of the floating dispensers through replacement of a dispersant in one of the cartridges with an inert or ballast material that has no effect on the water characteristics.

Chemical dispensing apparatus
10435901 · 2019-10-08 ·

A chemical dispensing system broadly including a mounting ring and a dispenser apparatus. The mounting ring securely attaches the dispenser apparatus to a water return jet in a swimming pool or spa. The dispenser apparatus broadly includes a connector ring, a screen, a housing, and an adjustable basket. The connector ring fastens the dispenser apparatus to the mounting ring. The screen is removably attached to the housing. The adjustable basket nests inside the housing and includes a tab that protrudes through the housing sidewall. The tab is used to rotate the adjustable basket within the housing, thereby regulating the sanitizing chemical dispersal rate. Pressurized water from the return jet flows across the surface of the screen, creating an upward-rising current within the dispenser apparatus. The sanitizing chemicals in the adjustable basket dissolve as the water flows upward through and exits through the screen of the dispensing apparatus.

METHOD, DEVICE AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING HALOGEN LEVELS IN A BODY OF WATER

A method and an apparatus are presented for monitoring a concentration of a specific halogen in a body of water such as a spa or bathing unit for example. The apparatus comprises a housing in which is positioned an optical absorption analyzer for making first and second measurement of transmission of ultraviolet light from a light source emitting light at a specific wavelength. The second and first measurements are taken respectively before and after the ultraviolet light has travelled through a sample of water and are used to derive a concentration of the specific halogen. The derived concentration may then be communicated to a user using a display device and/or may be used to control operational components of a bathing unit for adjusting the concentration of halogen in the water. In some practical implementations, the apparatus may be embodied as a standalone device, which may be configured to float on the water of the bathing unit or, alternatively, may be configured for being installed in-line in a water circulation path of the bathing input by connecting the housing to circulation piping.

Ozone-assisted fluid treatment apparatus and method
10414677 · 2019-09-17 ·

An apparatus for treating fluid in a main reservoir includes an auxiliary reservoir and filter located outside the main reservoir. Ozonated air bubbles are injected by a diffuser into a lift tube containing fluid from the main reservoir. The fluid flows up the lift tube and into the auxiliary reservoir due to the expansion of the ozonated air bubbles as they go up the lift tube. The fluid is caused to pass through the auxiliary reservoir and filter and back into the main reservoir as a result of the flow of ozonated air in the lift tube. A UV germicidal lamp is positioned in the path of fluid flow downstream of said diffuser. In an alternate embodiment, fluid flow to and from the main reservoir is via conduits normally used to connect the main reservoir to a conventional high pressure water pump and filter.

POOL CLEANING SYSTEM AND METHOD TO AUTOMATIALLY CLEAN SURFACES OF A POOL USING IMAGES FROM A CAMERA

A pool cleaning system for cleaning debris from a submerged surface of a swimming pool includes a self-propelled pool cleaner having rotatably-mounted supports for supporting and guiding the cleaner on the pool surface; an electric motor for enabling the rotation of the rotatably-mounted supports on the pool surface; at least one camera to capture imagery of the pool surface; a controller, in electronic communication with the at least one camera, to determine a cleanliness characteristic of the pool surface on which the cleaner has passed based on the camera imagery and generate a control signal to direct movement of the cleaner based on the cleanliness characteristic of the pool surface, and a portable electronic device configured to present a graphic on a display, the graphic depicting the submerged surface of the pool and those portions of the surface that remain uncleaned as the cleaner traverses the pool surface.

Dispenser systems

A dispenser system for delivering various combinations of dispersants to a body of water with the various combinations of dispersants supplied to the body of water through the interchanging of dispensing cartridges which are attachable to a main dispensing cartridge where a condition for interchanging of dispensing cartridges may be triggered by an event and the dispersants are isolated from a floatation member in the dispenser system.
