Provided is a pool and/or spa cover leading edge that provides for minimal deflection across the width of the pool and/or spa, and in particular from 0 to less than or equal to 0.10 inches per 10 feet of width of the pool and/or spa. The pool and/or spa cover leading edge includes at least one fiber reinforced polymer composite with an axial length of from 5 feet to 50 feet with a linear weight per foot from 4 to 14 ounces per foot of axial length and an optional joiner for coupling together two or more composites. The composite includes at least one of continuous fibers or discontinuous fibers oriented at least partially in the axial direction and encapsulated by a thermoset or thermoplastic resin matrix. Also provided are pool and/or spa cover system and a method of reducing the deflection of a leading edge for a pool and/or spa cover.

Swimming pool construction

A pool shell including a wall, a floor and a region of curvature running along a bottom of the wall and connecting the wall to the floor. A fastener-receiving formation, on an exterior of the region of curvature is for rigidly connecting the bottom to a support. Also discussed is a swimming pool including a pool shell, having a wall and two or more upright supports. The wall has a top, a bottom, a first elongate stiffening portion and an exterior. The upright supports are spaced along the exterior. The first elongate stiffening portion runs along the wall and is positioned more than 250 mm from each of the top and the bottom. Each of the upright supports are rigidly connected to the first elongate stiffening portion and at least one of the top and the bottom, and predominantly formed of elongate rigid members.

A reusable pool mold for forming a swimming pool coping or overhang above a peripheral portion of pool water in accordance with the present invention includes multiple bracket members detachably secured to a liner receiver for a swimming pool. Each bracket having a lower portion of an outer vertical member integrally joined to an outer portion of a horizontal member, and having an inner portion of said horizontal member integrally joined to an upper portion of an inner vertical member. Each bracket member includes a securing member for detachably securing a bracket member to the liner receiver. The pool mold includes a form member that continuously extends above a water portion of a swimming pool; the form member receiving deformable material that ultimately solidifies, whereupon, the form member and brackets are removed from the solidified material to reveal a configured coping or overhang continuously extending above a peripheral portion of water inside the swimming pool.

Swimming pool coping members

Coping arrangements and methods for mounting coping arrangements for swimming pools and related structures are provided. The coping arrangements include an elongated base member shaped and adapted to be received by a wall of a swimming pool; and a plurality of elongated top members, each of the plurality of elongated top members are adapted to be replaceably mounted to the elongated base member, and each of the plurality of elongated top members having an exposed contour different from each of the other elongated top members. The different exposed contours of the top members of the coping arrangement may comprise different cross-sectional. Methods for changing a coping arrangement, coping arrangement kits, coping members, and methods for installing a pool are also disclosed.

Molding system for swimming pool copings

A molding system for a swimming pool coping having a track for receiving a pool cover includes an adaptor configured to be positioned at least partially within the track, the adaptor having a front wall, a lower portion extending from the front wall, an upper portion extending from the front wall, and an upper flange extending from the upper portion. The molding system may further include a spacer configured to be at least partially positioned between and abut against the lower portion and the upper portion of the adaptor. A tool for removing a molding system includes a blade having a top surface, a bottom surface, and an edge, a base connected to the blade opposite the edge having an abutment arranged substantially coplanar with the bottom surface, and a handle connected to the blade disposed along an axis that is obliquely angled with respect to the bottom surface.
