A molded pool step, a method of fabricating the pool step and a method of matching a decorative pattern on the pool step to the decorative pattern on a pool liner is disclosed. The pool step is fabricated by applying a decorative pattern to one surface of a transparent sheet of moldable material; positioning the sheet of material on a pool step mold such that the sheet contacts a molding surface of the pool step mold; molding the sheet of material on the pool step mold such that the decorative pattern is located a distance inwardly from an outer surface of the pool step and is thereby prevented being contacted by pool water or people using the pool. When the pool step is molded and installed the decorative pattern on the three-dimension pool step is substantially continuous with the decorative pattern on the liner adjacent the pool step.

An in-wall ladder to be installed in a swimming pool, and a method of constructing the ladder, the ladder including a frame portion configured with a substantially flat front surface and a central opening, a plurality of step portions configured to extend back from the front surface of the frame portion, in a substantially parallel arrangement in the central opening, and a plurality of riser portions configured to extend back in the central opening at an angle from the front surface of the frame portion to a point proximate a back edge of each respective step portion located below each respective riser portion.

Disclosed is a container, such as an above-ground pool, with an improved porthole. The container can include a base, a side wall joined to the base, and at least one porthole. The porthole can comprise an aperture in the side wall and a generally transparent window sheet attached to the side wall and completely covering the aperture in the side wall. The present invention provides a pool ladder with an automatic wash-down system for cleaning a person's feet before entering a swimming pool. The pool ladder includes a staircase to allow a person to climb into the swimming pool. The wash-down system includes nozzles positioned in the staircase to direct water spray towards the person's feet. The wash-down system further includes sensors to detect the presence of the person on the staircase and a controller to regulate the flow of water to the nozzles, based on signals from the nozzles, for automatic washing of the person's feet when the person is standing on one of the steps of the staircase.
