Direct wireless control of lighting systems for use in a high-moisture environment

A lighting system for use in a high-moisture environment, such as a swimming pool, includes a lighting unit having a housing and at least one light-emitting device positioned within the housing. A power supply provides power to the light-emitting device. A receiver positioned within the housing operates with a LoRa modulation format. A mobile control unit located remote from the lighting unit is configured to transmit at least one wireless control signal to the receiver, whereby the at least one control signal controls or changes a characteristic of the at least one light-emitting device, such as an on/off state, a color, a lighting effect, or a pattern of display. Related systems and methods for installing a lighting system for use in a high-moisture environment are also disclosed.

A water spraying device and an above-ground pool including the water spraying device are provided. The water spraying device includes: a sprayer assembly having a water inlet end, a water outlet end, and a first magnetic element disposed on the water inlet end; and a mounting assembly including a first end, a second end in fluid communication with the first end, and a second magnetic element disposed on the first end of the mounting assembly. The mounting assembly defines therein a water passage to the sprayer assembly. The first magnetic element is mutually attractive to the second magnetic element such that the water inlet end of the sprayer assembly and the first end of the mounting assembly are detachably connectable via the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element.

Swimming pool insert and related installation and replacement methods

A tanning ledge insert for a swimming pool is provided. In various embodiments, the tanning ledge includes a fiberglass insert that is adapted for use within the context of a vinyl liner pool. A depth of the tanning ledge may be, for example, between 14 and 16 inches. However, in other embodiments, the tanning ledge may be of any other suitable depth. The tanning ledge insert may include a vertical wall and a tanning ledge extending horizontally from the vertical wall. A step may be disposed adjacent the tanning ledge's upper surface. The tanning ledge insert may include a connection lip that is dimensioned for use in securing the tanning ledge insert in place within the structure of a vinyl liner pool. Methods of installing and replacing the tanning ledge insert are also provided.

An at least one underwater pendant or accent light having a housing, a lens body, an electronics section, an at least one heat sink, and one or more LEDs is mounted within the niche tube. The underwater pendant or accent light being coupled in a watertight fashion to a power source through the watertight coupling and being contained within the niche tube such that the water gap section surrounds at least in part the housing and permits water from the water feature to circulate in contact the housing but not penetrate into the watertight electrical connection.

A suitable dye substance then is inserted into the distal top or free end of the leak detection tube while the latter is positioned just below the surface of the swimming pool water by a leak specialist positioned on the deck or beam of the pool. A light fixture may be mounted in the wall surface and the aforementioned leakage test conducted to determine water leaks in the niche containing the light fixture.

When the control circuit is connected to an external device via at least one wireless network, a user may use the external device to adjust the setting. The external device does not need to be paired with the control circuit in advance. Instead, the external device interacts with the control circuit via a protocol to access and adjust the setting.
