Self supporting tilt over mast
The system of the present invention is a tilt over mast that is easy to construct from the ground and permits azimuthal adjustments from the ground with the mast elevated to working heights. The system used for calibrating a directional antenna and includes two or more mast sections, namely a base member, a mid member, and a top member. The mid member may be pivotally coupled about the base member at a number of positions. The top member is coupled to an opposing end of the mid member and supports the desired equipment. A method of constructing and operating the system is described.
Ice shield for tower mounted equipment
A tower (1) having equipment (3) mounted thereon is disclosed. The tower (1) has an ice shield assembly (2) for protection to of the equipment (3) against falling ice mounted thereon. The ice shield assembly (2) comprises a tower fixture arrangement (5) being secured to the tower (1) and an ice shield (4) connected 5 to the tower fixture arrangement (5) via a hinge (6). The ice shield (4) is configured for vertically overlapping the horizontal extends of the equipment (3). The ice shield assembly (2) further comprises at least one spring element (7), e.g. in the form of a curved rod, connected at one end to the ice shield (4) and at an opposite end to the tower (1), the at least one spring element (7) 10 being configured to allow the ice shield (4) to pivot relative to the tower (1) at the hinge (6) in order to ensure a gradual transfer of energy from falling ice, which collides with the ice shield (4).
Tower hoist, platform and davit system
Hoists, platforms and davits are described as well as methods of securing same to telecommunication and other towers. The hoists, platforms and davits may be secured to the towers on a temporary basis using clamps. The clamps may include brackets and cables. The cables may be attached to the brackets, may wrap around the outer surface/perimeter of the tower pole/leg and may use tension to keep the bracket in place.
Emergency restoration system and method
An emergency restoration system is disclosed. The emergency restoration system including a base and a tower pivotally connected to the base. The tower including at least one tower section and at least one insulated tower section pivotally connected to the at least one tower section, the insulated tower section including at least one insulator pivotally connected thereto.
COLUMN BRACKET ASSEMBLY AND RELATED METHODS AND STRUCTURES
A column bracket assembly is provided. The column bracket assembly comprises a bottom base bracket and a top base bracket, each including a bracket body adapted to receive an end of support element (e.g. a wooden column) and a mounting bracket/plate pivotally coupled to the bracket body and adapted to be coupled to a structural element (e.g. a footing, pile, header, beam etc.). The column bracket assembly optionally includes mounting brackets for installing cross brace brackets and/or tension rods to the bracket bodies. A method of installing the column bracket assembly, and a method of repairing, resettling, shoring, and/or leveling a structure with the column bracket assembly are also provided, along with structures comprising the column bracket assembly.
Mobile Tower for Transportation And Remote Deployment
A mobile tower for transportation to and rapid deployment at remote sites where the mobile tower can be engaged with the ground, the mobile tower including an extendable and retractable tower secured to a mobile support structure including a frame having a plurality of rapidly deployable outriggers, wherein the tower includes three series of pivotally interconnected tower sections or segments, sections or segments of which engage with segments of each of the other series when the tower is assembled; the mobile tower including a plurality of guy wires secured between the extendable and retractable tower and the respective outriggers to stabilize the tower after the tower is assembled. The guy wires are preferably secured to the extendable and retractable tower at first and second connecting positions that are displaced from one another about an outer perimeter. Methods of deploying the mobile tower are also disclosed.
Articulated utility pole
Disclosed and described herein are embodiments of an articulated utility pole that facilitates repair and/or reinstallation in the event of damage to the pole caused by wind loading (e.g., storms), trees or other items striking the utility lines, collisions with the poles, and the like. Also disclosed herein are methods of repairing and/or re-installing the articulated utility pole. Further disclosed herein are components for fabricating an articulated utility pole.
Base assembly for a lattice tower
A tower includes a foot welded to each leg of a lattice section of the tower, each foot having an aperture; an inner gusset welded to each foot and the respective leg, the inner gusset extends toward an inner edge of the respective foot; and an outer gusset welded to each foot, the outer gusset extends toward the aperture of the respective foot.
