FLEXIBLE CABLE GUIDE LINK ASSEMLBY FOR A HINGED TOWER
A tower includes a base section; a tower section hinged to the base section; a hinge assembly between the base section and the tower section, the hinge assembly defines a hinge axis about which the tower section hinges relative to the base section; and a flexible cable guide link assembly attached to the tower section such that the flexible cable guide link assembly extends across the hinge axis and into the base section.
EXHAUST STACK LATTICE TOWER
A lattice tower structure includes a first lattice section that comprises a first leg, a second leg, and a third leg forming a triangular shaped first lattice section of the tower, the first, second and third leg each constructed of a solid galvanized steel rod; and an exhaust stack at least partially secured within the first, second and third leg.
Break Resistant Utility Pole Design
A utility pole is resistant to breakage by providing a connection between an upper and a lower portion. In many embodiments, the upper portion with an arm supporting a utility line is able to deflect relative to a lower portion at the connection and then either be replaced or restored to the upright configuration.
PORTABLE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM AND REALIZATION METHOD THEREOF
A portable multi-functional system having a multi-functional apparatus customizable by way of devices arranged to respectively perform different functions, and a container arranged to be transported by way of ground, naval or air transportation and having predetermined external dimensions is provided. The multi-functional apparatus is secured to the container, and is arranged to take at least two types of layout: a first layout or transport layout wherein the multi-functional apparatus is inside the predetermined external dimensions and a second layout or lifting up layout wherein the multi-functional apparatus projects from the predetermined external dimensions of the container so as to realize a tower. The invention also relates to a method for realizing the multi-functional system.
EXTENDABLE ARM STRUCTURE
An extendable arm structure includes: an upper extendable arm and a lower extendable arm which extend parallel in a same direction; and a vertical coupling member that couples the upper and lower extendable arms. Each of the extendable arms includes a plurality of X-shaped cross units each formed by pivotally coupling two rigid members via a middle coupling shaft, and two end coupling shafts that pivotally couple ends of adjacent ones of the cross units. The extendable arm structure further includes: a planar member that closes, in a planar fashion, a space between the rigid member of the upper extendable arm and the rigid member of the lower extendable arm which extends parallel to the rigid member of the upper extendable arm in a same direction.
Mobile Tower for Transportation And Remote Deployment
A mobile tower for transportation to and rapid deployment at remote sites where the mobile tower can be engaged with the ground, the mobile tower including an extendable and retractable tower secured to a mobile support structure including a frame having a plurality of rapidly deployable outriggers, wherein the tower includes three series of pivotally interconnected tower sections or segments, sections or segments of which engage with segments of each of the other series when the tower is assembled; the mobile tower including a rigging apparatus that generally encircles the tower and a plurality of guy wires secured between the tower and the respective outriggers to stabilize the tower after the tower is assembled. The guy wires are preferably secured to the rigging apparatus at first and second connecting positions that are displaced from one another about an outer perimeter of the rigging apparatus. Methods of deploying the mobile tower are also disclosed.
Deployable Mast Structure
A deployable mast structure (100) is disclosed, comprising a body configured to adopt a tubular shape when the mast structure is in a deployed configuration, and a plurality of openings (102) formed in a wall of the body so as to define a plurality of integral tape-spring hinges (103) in the wall of the body, the plurality of openings being configured so as to permit the body to collapse along its longitudinal axis into a stowed configuration when the tape-spring hinges are buckled. In the stowed configuration, the integral tape-spring hinges are configured to exert a force which urges the structure towards the deployed configuration. Since the mast structure collapses along its longitudinal axis, the structure only occupies a small volume in the stowed configuration. A method of fabricating the deployable mast structure from a layered composite material is also disclosed.
Tool for use in modifying poles
A method of installing a joint into a light pole is described. The method includes the steps of supporting the light pole during cutting, then lowering a free portion of the lightpole about a hinge. The hinge is configured such that when a free portion of the light pole is lowered, wiring internal of the light pole is not significantly stretched.
TILT TOWER WITH TWO SWING ARMS
A tilt tower including a mast fixed to ground, a first swing arm, and a first bearing rotatably coupling the first swing arm to a first side of an upper end of the mast. The tilt tower further includes a second swing arm and a second bearing rotatably coupling the second swing arm to a second side of the upper end of the mast opposing the first side of the upper end of the mast.
Self-installing column stabilized offshore wind turbine system and method of installation
A self-installing offshore column stabilized semi-submersible platform has at least one vertical buoyant ballastable column, a telescoping keel tank or stiffened damper plate movably connected with the vertical column that extends and retracts relative to a lower end thereof, and a tilt and telescoping wind turbine tower assembly pivotally coupled to an upper end of the vertical column telescopes and reciprocates relative thereto between a horizontal retracted position and an axially extended vertical position. A wind turbine with blades is coupled to a top portion of the upper section of the tower assembly. The relative position and weight of the keel tank or damper plate is selectively adjustable to raise or lower the center of gravity of the entire mass of the semi-submersible platform including the wind turbine and tower assembly with respect to the center of buoyancy of the platform.
