METALLIC GEL NAIL POLISH AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

The present invention is a metallic gel nail polish composition and method of application. The polish lacks harmful airborne toxins and is comprised of monomers, aluminum, epoxy acrylate oligomer, acrylic acid polymer and photoinitiator. The aluminum is deduced to a semi-solid phase before mixing in with the remaining chemicals. When the composition is applied to a solid surface, the surface tension between the aluminum and remaining chemicals disperses the aluminum evenly across a surface resulting in a shiny, metallic color. The composition is cured for about 2 minutes using an about 36-watt UV light or about 10-60 seconds using an LED light. The composition may be applied above a cured standard base coat or under a cured standard top coat. If a colored metallic color is desired, a translucent gel polish is applied atop the cured metallic gel polish whereby the aluminum particles reflect off the translucent coat.

COVALENT TREATMENT WITH THIOLS OF KERATIN-CONTAINING MATERIALS

Disclosed are methods of preparing thiol keratin-containing materials, comprising applying a mixture comprising one or more thiol compounds and a catalyst. Methods of preparing cross-linked keratin-containing materials by applying a mixture comprising one or more thiol compounds and an oxidizing agent are also disclosed. Methods of grafting monomeric and polymeric materials on keratin-containing materials to provide a covalent coating on keratin-containing materials are disclosed. A mixture comprising one or more thiol compounds is applied to the keratin-containing material sample. The keratin-containing material sample then comprises a plurality of free thiol groups. A monomer is optionally applied to the keratin-containing material sample to form a plurality of covalent bonds between the free thiol groups and the monomers. The disclosed grafting methods can be carried out with or without catalyst.

COSMETIC COMPOSITION CONTAINING AT LEAST ONE COSMETIC POWDER WITH CHROMOPHORE-BASED SURFACE COATING
20240148621 · 2024-05-09 · ·

A powder cosmetic composition with a chromophore-based coating is described. The composition comprises from 0.1% to 50% by weight of at least one chromophore selected among polymeric chromophores chemically linked to polyols with reactive functional groups and from 99.9% to 50% by weight of a cosmetic powder or mixture of cosmetic powders having superficial reactive groups.

Bonding tissues and cross-linking proteins with naphthalimide compounds

Naphthalimide compounds as used in tissue bonding and protein cross-linking applications. When activated by an activating agent, such as light in the 400-500 nm absorption range, the naphthalimide compounds form chemically-reactive species that cross-link proteins, bond connective tissues together, and bone tissues and other biomaterials together. A naphthalimide-labeled biomolecule, such as a naphthalimide-labeled chitosan, is also capable of bonding tissues without subsequent direct illumination of the contacted tissue area. The naphthalimide compounds may be used in tissue or arterial repair, stabiliation of an expanded arterial wall after angioplasty, tethering pharmaceutical agents to tissue surfaces to provide local drug delivery, and for chemically bonding skin care products, sunscreens, and cosmetics to the skin.

AQUEOUS COMPOSITIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF HAIR

The invention relates to aqueous compositions for hair treatment, comprising polyorganosiloxanes A) or organic compounds B) having certain functional groups, in particular aldehyde and unsaturated dicarboxylic acid moieties, hair treatment or hair care compositions comprising the aqueous compositions, a process for the treatment of hair which comprises the steps of providing the aqueous compositions and applying said aqueous compositions to the hair, and the use of the aqueous compositions for the treatment of hair.

Keratin treatment formulations and methods

Formulations, kits, and methods for rebuilding the disulfide bonds in keratin found in hair, skin, or nails. Hair that is damaged due to a hair coloring treatment and/or other reducing treatment, such as during a permanent wave, can be treated with the formulations containing one or more active agents. The formulations may be applied subsequent to a hair coloring treatment or simultaneously with a hair coloring treatment. Use of the active agent formulations during a permanent wave treatment prevents the reversion of the hair to its previous state, for at least one week, preferably at least three months, more preferably at least one year, most preferably greater than one year, after one or more than one application of the formulation. Application of the active agent formulation to skin or nails can help repair damaged disulfide bonds due to natural wear and tear or natural aging.

(METH)ACRYLAMIDE BASED URETHANE OLIGOMER AND ACTIVE ENERGY RAY CURABLE RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME

An object is to provide a (meth)acrylamide based urethane oligomer which has excellent compatibility with organic solvents and general purpose acrylic monomers and oligomers, a high curing property with an active energy ray, and a low curing shrinkage property, and to provide an active energy ray curable resin composition containing the same which has an excellent adhesion property, moisture resistance, surface curing property, and also a low curing shrinkage property, and a molded article of the same. By using a (meth)acrylamide based urethane oligomer characterized by having a (meth)acrylamide group at the end or in side chain thereof and a cure shrinkage rate of 5% or less, it is possible to prepare a urethane oligomer having high curing property and excellent compatibility with organic solvents and general purpose acrylic monomers and oligomers, and an active energy ray curable resin composition containing the same and having excellent adhesion property can be prepared.
