Systems and methods for treating artificial turf
A method of reducing or preventing the transfer of pathogens between individuals interacting on artificial turf comprises treating the various components of the artificial turf with a residual antimicrobial coating composition. Treating the artificial turf comprises moving an artificial turf treatment apparatus over the turf in at least one pass, the apparatus being capable of liberating particles of infill material out from between the plastic blades of grass of the artificial turf and spraying the particles with the residual antimicrobial coating composition while the particles are in the air above the turf.
Devices, systems, and methods for sterilization, disinfection, sanitization and decontamination
A sterilization, disinfection, sanitization, or decontamination system having a chamber defining a region, and a generator for creating a free radical effluent with reactive oxygen, nitrogen, and other species and/or a vaporizer. A closed loop circulating system without a free-radical destroyer is provided for supplying the mixture of free radicals from the generator mixed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the form of the effluent to the chamber. The system is used in sterilizing, disinfecting, sanitizing, or decontaminating items in the chamber or room and, with a wound chamber, in treating wounds on a body. The wound chamber may be designed to maintain separation from wounds being treated. Various embodiments can control moisture to reduce or avoid unwanted condensation. Some embodiments can be incorporated into an appliance having a closed space, such as a washing machine. Some embodiments may include a residual coating device that deposits a bactericidal coating on sterilized items.
Devices for applying a topical treatment
A device comprising a housing having a handle end and a treatment end. The treatment end is configured to provide an antimicrobial treatment and a heat treatment. The treatment end comprises an applicator having an applicator surface for providing at least the heat treatment. The device includes a heat generation unit configured to heat the applicator surface in use, a source of antimicrobial agent, and a control unit operatively connected to at least the heat generation unit for controlling the heat generation unit. The device can be a hand-held device and used to apply topical treatment to a treatment area of a subject.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR TREATING INFECTIONS
The composition for treating infections may be used for treating a wide variety of different infection and conditions, including viral infections, such as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and influenza. The composition includes isoamyl hexanoates and at least one acid. The at least one acid may be lactic acid, propanoic acid, isobutyric acid, butyric acid, lactic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, uric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, or combinations thereof. The composition may be provided in any suitable form, including, but not limited to, a cream, an ointment, a rinse, an oil, a scrub, a spray, a shampoo, a gel, a plaster, a paste, a solution, a suspension, a dip, a salve, an ear rinse, a powder, an eyewash, mouthwash, a nail lacquer, a gas or an orally administered treatment. The composition may also be used as a feed or feed supplement, or a waste treatment.
AN ULTRASONIC IRRIGATOR DEVICE FOR IN-BODY CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Nanoparticles are suspended in a fluid medium which is activated using an ultrasonic transducer in contact with the fluid medium. The fluid may be injected into a body cavity and ultrasonically activated to induce a cavitation effect. The body cavity may contain a natural or artificial hard surface, inflamed or with a biofilm harnessing bacteria, such as a bone, joint or implant, as well as the surrounding tissue. In an embodiment, a treatment device may be used before, during or after a procedure such as a minimally invasive or open surgery to disinfect the body cavity via irrigation with liquid containing suspended nanoparticles and ultrasonically activated. The irrigation device may supply the cavity with the liquid and include therein an ultrasonic transducer. The cleaning and disinfecting process may be performed as treatment of infection in absence of another surgical procedure.
Use of materials incorporating microparticles for avoiding the proliferation of contaminants
A solid material including a matrix, dispersed in which are microparticles of at least one antimicrobial agent for preventing, limiting and/or eliminating the contamination of the material and/or the contamination of a composition which is in contact with the material for at least a given time, and/or preventing, eliminating and/or slowing down the formation of biofilms on the surface of the material, wherein the antimicrobial agent is an oxide of at least one positively charged metal ion and the antimicrobial agent does not migrate out of the material. Also, the use of such material for manufacturing an article, to the process for manufacturing the article, and to the article obtained. In particular, the article is selected from stoppers, lids, seals, caps, covers, plugs and valves intended for sealing bottles, flasks, jars, cans, canisters, barrels, tanks, or various containers used for packaging and/or storing food products, dietetic products, cosmetic products, dermatological products or pharmaceutical products.
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for continuously inactivating a virus during manufacture of a biological product
Methods for continuously inactivating virus during manufacture of a biological product are provided. The methods include steps of (1) combining (a) a composition including a biological product, and (b) a composition including a virus-inactivation reagent, to obtain (c) a treatment composition having a predetermined property for inactivation of a virus, (2) confirming that the treatment composition exhibits the predetermined property, (3) transferring the treatment composition to a treatment vessel that includes an inlet, an outlet, and a static mixer, the transferring occurring at the inlet, (4) incubating the treatment composition in the treatment vessel at a predetermined temperature while the treatment composition flows at a predetermined rate and contacts the static mixer, and (5) collecting the treatment composition from the treatment vessel at the outlet, wherein steps (1) to (5) are carried out continuously. Apparatuses and systems including such a treatment vessel are also provided.
MODULAR LIGHT DEVICE FOR A BIOLOGICAL FLUID TREATMENT SYSTEM
Provided herein are systems and methods for implementing a modular light device for use in an electronic treatment device according to examples of the disclosure. In one or more examples, the modular light device can be implemented as a stand-alone component that can be swapped in and out of the treatment device. In one or more examples, the light device can include a light source array chamber configured to transmit UV light of a selected wavelength, the light source array chamber including one or more light source arrays and light sensors collectively configured as part of the light device to deliver light to a biological sample.
