A handle-equipped lock. The lock comprises a latch bolt, a lock housing, and a release mechanism inside the lock housing. The handle includes handgrip, a spindle sleeve contiguous with the handgrip, and a polygonal shaped spindle, which has a part of its length inside the spindle sleeve and which is dimensioned to extend to an engagement with the lock's release mechanism. The shaped spindle, or a part thereof, is adapted to be manipulated inside the spindle sleeve between an unlocking position and a locking position. In the unlocking position, the shaped spindle extends to the lock's release mechanism and in the locking position it does not extend. The shaped spindle and the spindle sleeve are provided with locking means for securing the same relative to each other in said locking position, wherein manipulation of the shaped spindle is prevented. Alternatively, a continuous shaped spindle extends through the lock and the handle is capable of being manipulated relative to the shaped spindle between an unlocking position and a locking position.

A twist handle latch assembly is provided for use on compartment doors of a utility vehicle. The assembly includes a plastic housing with a steel backer plate to which the latch pawl is mounted. A T-handle is rotatably mounted on the front of a housing with a post extending through the housing and the steel plate for connection to the latch pawl. Rotation of the handle rotates the latch pawl between locked and unlocked positions. A power actuator may be provided to remotely lock and unlock the latch pawl. A key cylinder actuator allows manual locking and unlocking of the latch pawl. A cam connected to the actuator has a window to receive a portion of the pawl in the locked condition.

A privacy lock assembly and method of operation are provided. The lock assembly has a push button offset from the central axis of the lock assembly for locking and unlocking the assembly. The lock assembly includes compression springs to maintain integrated handles in predetermined orientations when the handles are not subject to a load.

Vehicle Door Latch Security Tether

A vehicle that includes a door, handle, shaft, and a latch assembly is provided. The latch assembly is coupled to the door to selectively secure the door. The latch assembly includes a security tether configured to prevent the shaft from moving the pawl when the lock lever is located in the locked condition. The security tether further includes: a plate attachable to the latch assembly; the plate includes an aperture sized to receive at least a portion of the lock lever that is disposed through the aperture; the plate includes first and second stop surfaces to limit movement of the lock lever; the first and second stop surfaces are also spaced apart from each other; the lock lever is movable between the first and second stop surfaces; at least the first stop surface is spaced apart from the first location on the pawl; and the lock lever engages the first stop surface when the lock lever is located in the locked condition to prevent the pawl from moving to the unlatched condition and unlatching the latching assembly.

INDICATOR LOCK

Disclosed herein are cylindrical door locks configured to indicate the lock status of the door lock to nearby persons. In some instances, the lock status is indicated on a first side of the door. In other instances, the lock status is indicated on both a first side and a second side of the door.

A tamper resistant cover assembly for a lock assembly operably connected to a shipping container is disclosed. The lock assembly has a closed configuration when a door of the shipping container is in a shut configuration. The tamper resistant cover assembly has a cover housing defining an interior chamber and a bottom opening in communication with the interior chamber. A slot is defined in the housing and being in communication with the interior chamber, the slot dimensioned to be configured to receive the lock assembly of the shipping container. A projection arm has a proximal end and distal end. The proximal end is connected to an inner surface of the cover housing wherein the projection arm extends into the interior chamber. The projection arm has an aperture therein. When the lock assembly of the shipping container is in the closed configuration, the cover assembly is positioned on the shipping container wherein the slot is configured to receive the lock assembly. The projection arm is positioned proximate the lock assembly wherein the aperture is generally aligned with openings in the lock assembly. The bottom opening is configured to receive a padlock wherein a shackle of the padlock is configured to be inserted through the projection arm aperture, the shackle configured to be inserted into the openings of the lock assembly wherein the padlock is configured to be locked to place the lock assembly in a locked configuration, wherein the cover assembly is configured to provide a tamper-resistant configuration for the lock assembly.

Each of the plurality of blocking positions may respectively limit to different extents the driving back of the bolt under action of an external force on the bolt. There is also disclosed a leaf or door comprising the bolt module, wherein the bolt module is mounted on the leaf or door for securing the leaf or door.

Each lock includes a blocking member. The remote power transmission unit transmits a displacement of the displaceable unit from the first to the second position such that the locking member releases a latching mechanism of a door whereas the locking member locks the latching mechanism when the displaceable unit is in the first position.

A lockset with a sliding spindle assembly allows ingress using a key on the outside or a button on the inside. The sliding spindle assembly provides first and second sliding mechanisms operated from the outside and inside, respectively, that operate a clutch to couple the outside handle to the main spindle. Each sliding mechanism comprises a key cylinder or twist and/or push button lock that rotates a cam to linearly advance (slide) a cam follower that incorporates a spindle receiver. The first sliding mechanism slides its spindle receiver between clutching and non-clutching positions with respect to the main spindle. The second sliding mechanism slides the main spindle itself between clutching and non-clutching positions with respect to the first sliding mechanism's spindle receiver. The sliding spindle assembly can be incorporated into a legacy lockset and also be used in a double-latch lockset.
