Locking system for door on over-the-road vehicle
In combination: an over-the-road vehicle with a frame bounding a cargo space and at least one door having inside and outside surfaces and a peripheral edge; and a first locking assembly connected to the vehicle. The first locking assembly extends in an inside to outside direction over at least a portion of the thickness dimension of the peripheral door edge and so that a first portion extends to beyond the outside door surface. The first portion of the first locking assembly is configured to be engaged by a locking device that acts between the first locking assembly and another component to maintain the first door in the closed position. The first locking assembly is configured so that a region of the first portion is locally strengthened in a manner to resist severance and/or bending.
Locks configured to deter cylinder removal
Certain embodiments described herein are directed to locks that include one or more cylinder members effective to deter removal of a lock cylinder. In some configurations, the cylinder member is configured to engage a circumferential surface of the lock cylinder to deter removal of the lock cylinder on circumferential rotation of the lock cylinder. In other instances, the cylinder member is configured to etch the lock cylinder upon circumferential rotation of the lock cylinder.
JOINT LOCK
A joint lock comprises a lock body that accommodates a combination locking mechanism; and a jointed bar hoop. The combination locking mechanism has a plurality of code rings rotatable about an axis of rotation and a latch that is preloaded along the axis of rotation in the direction of a locked position. The lock body has an introduction opening through which the locking bar of the jointed bar hoop can be introduced into the lock body along an introduction direction that is oriented transversely to the axis of rotation of the code rings, with the locking bar introduced into the lock body being locked to the lock body when the latch is in the locked position and is blocked. The latch and/or the locking bar of the jointed bar hoop has/have at least one slope that is configured to effect an urging back of the preloaded latch from the locked position into a release position on a removal of the locking bar from the introduction opening of the lock body and/or on an introduction of the locking bar into the introduction opening of the lock body.
BICYCLE SECURITY DEVICES AND SYSTEM
A bicycle security device and associated bicycle theft alert or security systems are described. In some embodiments, the security devices and systems are configured to deter theft or other unauthorized uses of a bicycle, such as an electric bicycle, by providing multiple points or mechanisms of protection for the bicycle. For example, a bicycle security device, or bike lock, can include a cable or tether component integrated with a shackle of a wheel lock mechanism, which enables a rider to secure his/her bicycle via two integrated mechanisms of deterrence or protection within the bike lock.
LOW PROFILE DEADBOLT
A deadbolt assembly with a latch assembly and a lock cylinder. The deadbolt assembly includes a first torque blade longitudinally extending along a first axis and a second torque blade longitudinally extending along a second axis. The second torque blade is operatively coupled with the latch assembly to actuate the bolt between the retracted position and the extended position. The deadbolt assembly includes a geared arrangement operatively coupling the first torque blade and the second torque blade. The gear arrangement is configured to apply rotational movement of the first torque blade to the second torque blade.
Emergency school door barricade retrofit system apparatus and method
A reinforcement system and method for a door having a window provides for a window shutter that slides into a position covering the window during a shooting incident. An elongated bar has one end pivotally supported by a securing bracket, which is attached to a wall adjacent the door. A release pin is attached to the securing bracket; it normally supports the bar in a vertical stored position. A holster is secured to the wall on the opposite side of the door in alignment with the securing bracket. The shutter, the securing bracket, and the holster are formed from a ballistic resistant material. During a shooting incident, the user moves the shutter to cover the window, removes the release pin and pivots the bar into a horizontal position barring the door. The free end of bar is received in the holster, thereby reinforcing the door independently of the door frame and door hinges.
WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE LIGHTNING RECEPTOR ARRANGEMENT
A wind turbine rotor blade lightning receptor arrangement (12) is provided with an electrically conductive block (123) and a shielding component (122). In use, the electrically conductive block (123) forms an electrical bridge between a receptor element (121) of a lightning protection system and a down conductor (15) of the lightning protection system. The electrically conductive block (123) comprises a first engagement surface (124) for, in use, receiving the receptor element (121). The shielding component (122) overlays a portion of the first engagement surface (124) of the electrically conductive block (123), while leaving open an area for receiving the receptor element (121).
LOCKING DEVICE
A link arm for securing bicycles and other vehicles and their components to each other and to fixed objects such as bike racks and street poles. The link arm is composed of a plurality of elements flexibly joined to each other by cylindrical joints, joined to the bicycle or vehicle by a perpendicularly oriented central hinge, allowing for restricted movement and rotation of other elements in the link arm. The link arm is designed to, when fastened, form a closed loop around the bicycle or vehicle frame, wheel and bike rack. When not in use, the device can be folded into a neat, compact configuration for convenient storage. The central perpendicular hinge enables fast and simple transition between the two states of fastened and in storage.
Ceramic spine security cable
A cable lock including a lock body having a locking mechanism with a locked state and an unlocked state. A ceramic body cable includes a plurality of nested ceramic bodies and a cord, wherein each one of the plurality of ceramic bodies includes a center portion having an aperture. Each aperture of the plurality of nested ceramic bodies forms a channel through which the cord is positioned. Each of the ceramic bodies also includes a projection and a space such that the projection of one of the ceramic bodies overlaps the space of an adjacent ceramic body. A mesh sleeve is positioned on an exterior of the ceramic body cable and a shrunken heat shrinkable tube is positioned over the mesh sleeve. The combined ceramic body cable, mesh sleeve, and shrunken heat shrinkable tube are coupled to the lock body.
