Plasma treating an implant
11495438 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A method is provided for treating an implant in a medical care center prior to using the implant in a medical procedure. The method comprises applying a plasma-generating electromagnetic (EM) field using at least one electrode so as to generate plasma in a vicinity of the implant while displacing the electrode and the implant relative to one another. A portable plasma module and a docking station configured to connect to the portable plasma module, thereby forming a plasma generating system, are also provided. A plasma generating apparatus for treating an implant prior to using the implant in a medical procedure is also provided.

An RF generating device 2, which attenuates harmonics in RF power amplified by an RF amplifier and supplied to plasma generating electrodes, includes an RF generation unit 201 that generates a composite wave by combining a fundamental wave with a compensation wave which is made by inverting a phase of a harmonic generated by inputting the fundamental wave.

Seal Integrity Indicator for a Sterilization Container

Seal integrity indicators for sterilization containers are provided. For example, a seal indicator may indicate whether the container is sufficiently sealed to prevent an ingress of contaminants into the container. If the container is sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is visible, but if not, the seal indicator is not visible. Thus, the seal indicator undergoes a change in state when the sterilization container transitions from unsealed to sealed, or vice versa, such that a user may ascertain whether the container is properly sealed to maintain the container's sterility. An exemplary seal indicator includes an invertible projection formed with the container gasket that is not visible from outside the container until inverted, due to force applied by the lid, to extend through an opening in the container body. Closure mechanisms for sterilization containers also are provided.

Free radical sterilization system and method
RE049474 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A free radical sterilization system having a chamber defining a region, and a generator for generating free radical reach effluent from a free radical electric generator and/or a vaporizer. A closed loop circulating system without a free-radical destroyer is provided for supplying the mixture of free radicals from the electric generator mixed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the form of the effluent to the chamber. The free-radical sterilization system is used in sterilizing items in the chamber and, with an open-bottomed wound chamber, in treating wounds on a body.

Disclosed herein is a plasma coating system, including a plasma treatment device configured to generate a plasma discharge to treat a product; a coating station that treats the product with a liquid coating; and a transport surface that transports a product from the plasma treatment device to the coating station.

Electrode array for a dielectrically impeded plasma treatment

The invention relates to an electrode array for a dielectrically impeded plasma treatment of a surface of a body, comprising at least one flexible flat electrode (1) and one dielectric (2) consisting of a flat flexible first material which protects the electrode (1) from the surface to be treated, with a layer (3) impeding a direct current flow. The dielectric (2) can lie on the surface to be treated, above a structure (4) with projections (7), air spaces (5) being formed between the projections (7) for the creation of the plasma, which have a side open towards the surface to be treated, and a bottom-side closure as a result of the layer (3) impeding the direct current flow. The structure (4) comprises a plurality of spacer elements (6) consisting of a second material that has less flexibility than the first material, and the projections (7) of the structure (4) are partially or completely formed by the spacer elements (6).
