20230104532 · 2023-04-06 ·

A locking apparatus and method for securing a door or window comprising a substantial controllable mechanical locking mechanism that secures the sliding door or window into the receiving channel such that the locking mechanism cannot be disengaged from the receiving structure by a manual force; prevents the door or window from being lifted out of a bottom track by mere manual force; is able to report the door or window status as closed or open and as locked or unlocked to a remote user; is able to be remotely locked and unlocked using an application running on a mobile device or computer, or, alternatively by accessing a web accessible portal from a mobile device, electronic device or computer; and is manually operable by a user in the event of a power outage. A manually operated embodiment is useful for use cases in which no electric power is available.

A dial ring assembly for an electromechanical combination lock includes a housing configured to be mounted on an exterior of a securable enclosure, a dial rotatably disposed on the housing, the dial being rotatable about a dial axis for use in connection with entry of a combination, a lever rotatably disposed on the housing, the lever being rotatable about a lever axis, an external generator disposed in the housing, the external generator being configured to generate electrical energy through rotation of an external generator shaft of the external generator, and a gear train disposed in the housing and operatively connecting the dial, the lever, and the external generator shaft such that rotation of the dial rotates the external generator shaft to produce electrical energy and rotation of the lever rotates the external generator shaft to produce electrical energy.

DEVICE AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING UNWANTED ACCESS TO A LOCKED ENCLOSURE

A device for preventing unwanted opening of a locked enclosure includes a lock bolt moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A face gear is meshable with and rotatable by the worm gear between locking and unlocking positions when the worm gear is driven in the first and second directions, respectively. A blocker member is rotatable between first and second positions. A biasing member is operatively coupled to the face gear and the blocker member to bias the blocker member in a biasing direction. A sliding member selectively disengages the blocker member to allow the blocker member to rotate in the biasing direction. A lever arm is operatively coupled to the sliding member such that the lever arm is in the disengaged and engageable positions when the sliding member engages the blocker member in the first and second positions, respectively.

Provided are electronic door locks, systems, and computer implemented methods of use. In one example, the electronic door lock includes a locking mechanism configured to change a state of a door of a room between a locked state and an unlocked state. The electronic door lock further includes a communications interface configured to communicate wirelessly or wired with one or more fire devices. The one of more fire devices are configured to transmit a wireless or wired alert signal to the communications interface in response to detecting an occurrence of fire. The electronic door lock further includes a display unit configured to display an alert upon the communications interface receiving the wireless alert signal from the one or more fire devices, and configured to display an indication as to occupancy of the room.

Deadbolt indicator

An apparatus for a cylindrical deadbolt assembly indicates whether the deadbolt is locked or unlocked. The apparatus comprises a trim piece, such as an escutcheon or collar, configured to be mounted on the inside face of a door, a dial mounted on an inside surface of the trim piece, and a cam. The trim piece comprises one or more windows for displaying information from the dial. The dial is operative to travel between first and second positions to provide a first indication when the deadbolt is locked and a second indication when the deadbolt is unlocked. The cylinder tail piece turns the cam to move the dial between its first and second positions.

ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PERSISTENT DISPLAY

An electronic entry device such as a door lock includes a display that uses substantially no power when a static image is presented. Such a display can be “always on” and be used to display information to users of the entry device on a continuous basis. In some embodiments, the persistent display is an e-ink display. In some embodiments, the persistent display may present a scannable code, such as a QR code, that is statically displayed on the persistent display when a new product is unboxed. The persistent display can also present weather, news, scheduling, or other information.

HOCKEY PUCK DOOR KNOB

A door knob having a handle shaped as a hockey puck. An illumination device, carried in a face of the handle is selectively illuminated by a control circuit carried within the handle. The control circuit may include a motion sensor to detect a movement of the handle or a motion in front of the device and activate the illumination device. A timer may be connected with the control circuit to deactivate the illumination device after passage of a predetermined time. The door knob may also include a sound emitter coupled to the control circuit to make a sound when the illumination device is activated or in the case without illumination to activate when a movement of the handle is detected. The sounds may be selected to correspond to a sports event, holidays, phrases, sayings or slogans.

Axial clutch mechanism

An exemplary trim assembly comprises an escutcheon, a drive spindle, a lock mechanism, a cam mechanism, and a driver. The drive spindle is mounted to the escutcheon for rotation about a longitudinal axis. The lock mechanism includes a lock gear movably mounted in the escutcheon. The cam mechanism includes a first cam defined by the escutcheon and a second cam defined by the lock gear. The driver is operable to rotate the lock gear between a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The cam mechanism is configured to longitudinally drive the lock gear from a first longitudinal position to a second longitudinal position as the lock gear rotates from the first rotational position to the second rotational position. Movement of the lock gear between the first longitudinal position and the second longitudinal position transitions the lock mechanism between a locked state and an unlocked state.

Safety locking device

The present invention relates to a safety locking device for interlocking a safety door, having a movable part designed for being fastened to a moving part of the safety door and having a locking element, and a stationary part designed for being fastened to a non-moving part of the safety door. The stationary part includes a receiving section having an opening for the reception of the locking element, where the locking element can be inserted into the receiving section from different insertion directions when the locking element is aligned in the insertion direction. The stationary part includes a latch selectively movable from a locking position into a release position.

IGNITION LOCK
