DOOR LOCK SENSOR AND ALARM

A door lock mechanism is disclosed that includes door lock and alarm features. The mechanism includes a controller and a sensor useful to detect motions that are representative of attempted access through a door to which the door lock mechanism is attached. The controller can set an alarm condition if a measured motion, such as a measured acceleration, meet and/or exceeds a threshold. If an appropriate access control credential is provided through a user device then the alarm condition may not be set by the controller. The door lock mechanism can be coupled to a remote station via a communications link if needed, such as a radio frequency link. The remote station can additionally be in communication with the door lock mechanism via a network. The remote station can be used to send and receive messages regarding door lock mechanism status, configuration, etc.

A sliding panel deadbolt lock assembly that is associated with a sliding panel that transitions between an open position and a closed position relative to a stationary panel that is coupled to the sliding panel. A sliding panel lock assembly includes a pin that transitions between an engaged position and a retracted position. A first magnetic field sensing device is positioned at the retracted position of the pin when the pin is in the retracted position to enable the sliding panel to transition from the closed position. The first magnetic field sensing device detects a magnetic field generated by a first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin. The first magnetic field sensing device positioned at the retracted position of the pin is aligned with the first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin when the pin is in the retracted position.

System for alarm system arming and door lock operation

A building alarm system and automated door lock arranged to place the alarm system in an armed state when a door lock fails to engage to lock an associated door in a closed position. Activation of a single button by a user or use of specific code by a user to gain access to a building can cause the alarm system to automatically rearm and for door locks at the building to be locked after entry by the user. A first responder code can be used by first responder personnel to gain access to a building after an alarm system indicates an alarm state, e.g., that corresponds to an emergency condition.

In order to secure a door in a locked (or locked open) position without a key, such as to resist a forced entry through the door, a removable, remotely-controlled door locking apparatus is provided, which includes a rear plate for attachment against a surface of a door, a cover for enclosing components on the rear plate, and a telescoping arm assembly connected to the rear plate and extendible so that the other end attaches to a door knob. A DC-powered linear actuator connected to the rear plate and at least one electronics module configured to communicate wirelessly is within the cover. A foot of the actuator is configured to be extended in a lock state against a floor surface to secure the door or retracted in an unlock state, based on a wireless signal received from a remote smart device to control the actuator.

Methods and systems are disclosed that, in some aspects, provide an opening mechanism comprising an interior and an exterior door handle and sensors to detect movement of each door handle. A door position sensor may be provided. An alarm module for generating an alarm may be connected to at least one of the sensors. A method may include receiving a door handle actuation signal, determining whether the door handle actuation signal is from an inside door handle or an outside door handle and performing a function. One or more methods include determining an event, including an attempted entry, a forced entry and an incomplete entry.
