Portions of a device; methods of making and using them
A first portion of a security device, the first portion configured to have a separate state with respect to a second portion and a combined state with respect to the second portion, such that when in the combined state, the first portion is mated, interlocked, and/or locked with the second portion to collectively form the security device.
Mount with hidden magnetically actuated positioning
A mounting and leveling system for an electronic image display device (10) formed of an array of multiple display sections (12) facilitates adjustment of the alignment of adjacent display sections to minimize visible seams between display sections. Some embodiments include one or more magnetically actuated fasteners (220) that facilitate front-access-only installation and adjustment without requiring access to the rear, top, bottom, or sides of the array. Tools (300, 410) for installation and removal of display modules (50) from a front side of the display device are also disclosed. Fasteners (220) for providing a hidden adjustable connection between first and second objects are also disclosed. One such fastener includes a screw (226) having a magnetic head (222) that presents a magnetic moment perpendicular to its axis of rotation (234).
TAMPER-RESISTANT LOCK
A locking system includes a tamper-resistant lock and key. The tamper-resistant lock can include a cylindrical lock body with an upper portion having an engagement surface defining a pattern of engagement features, a housing, and a hidden component sized and shaped to fit within the housing that includes an internal lock base into which the cylindrical lock body fastens and a padlock pin configured to secure the internal lock base to a hasp or staple. The key operable for use with the tamper-resistant lock can include a cylindrical key body defining an engagement cavity configured to receive the engagement surface of the cylindrical lock body, a set of complementary engagement features, a plurality of retractable engagement members, and a retractable collar at least partially covering the cylindrical key body.
Combination non-programmable and programmable key for security device
A security device for an item of merchandise is provided. The security device includes a non-programmable locking mechanism comprising a mechanical lock and a programmable locking mechanism comprising a monitoring circuit operatively coupled to an alarm. The security device is configured to secure an item of merchandise from theft or removal when the mechanical lock is locked and to be separated from the item of merchandise when the mechanical lock is unlocked. The alarm is configured to provide an alarm signal if the security device is separated from the item of merchandise while the monitoring circuit is armed.
Key and associated lock
The invention relates to a key (1) for locking a lock, comprising at least one first surface (2) and at least one second surface (2), with at least one sensing position (4) provided along the longitudinal extent of the key (1), at which sensing position on the first surface (2) at least one first code (3) is provided for reading in the lock and/or at least one second code (3) is provided on the second surface (2) for reading in the lock, wherein at least one code (3) of the first surface (2) differs at least at one sensing position (4) from the second code (3) at the same sensing position (4). The invention furthermore relates to a lock for a key of this type, and a system made up of at least two locks or lock groups and at least one key according to the invention.
PRODUCT SECURITY DEVICE WITH ENGAGEMENT PIN
Example product security devices and associated methods are provided. An example product security device may include a first jaw and a second jaw that are operably coupled together to slide between an open position and a closed position. The example product security device may include a locking mechanism. In a locked state, the locking mechanism may permit movement of the first jaw towards the second jaw but prevent movement away from the second jaw. The example product security device may also include a product engagement pin. The product engagement pin may fasten the product security device to a product by piercing through the product and being received by the second jaw. A shroud having a shroud orifice may surround the product engagement pin and be operably coupled to the first jaw such that the shroud is movable relative to the product engagement pin.
FLUID GUARD AND ABSORBER FOR LOCKING DEVICES
Described herein are example fluid guards that can be used with locking devices. Various aspects may be particularly applicable to electrical locks, but they may also be applicable to mechanical locks. A locking device guard can include a guard head, a guard body, and a hinge. The guard head may include a fluid absorber, a frame that is shaped to receive the fluid absorber, and a fastening mechanism. The guard body can be coupled with an electronic lock. The guard body can include an aperture that is configured to expose a face of the electronic lock.
Tamper-resistant lock
A locking system includes a tamper-resistant lock and key. The tamper-resistant lock includes a cylindrical lock body with external threading on at least a portion thereof and a bore extending into an end of the cylindrical lock body. The bore includes an engagement feature disposed on the wall that defines the bore, and the engagement feature is disposed a particular distance away from the bore opening. The key includes a collar that has a cylindrical key body that fits within the bore of the cylindrical lock body. The cylindrical key body also includes an opening defined by the collar sidewall, a retractable engagement member at least partially disposed within the opening, a spring disposed within the collar, and a plunger disposed within the collar that is operable to engage the spring and has a recess sized and shaped to accommodate the retractable engagement member.
Magnetic lock mechanism
A magnetic lock has a barrel and keyway, the barrel when rotated unlocking the lock. Locking element cavities each contain a moveable locking element such as a ball, movable in response to a magnetic field applied by a magnetic key. A locking bar is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking bar has coded projections which extend into the respective locking element cavities when the locking bar moves from the locked position to the unlocked position. A code plate is shaped in registration with the coded projections. When the locking bar is in the locked position the code plate and the coded projections form a substantially uninterrupted surface. The locking elements prevent movement of the locking bar from the locked position to the unlocked position except when magnetically moved to a coded position.
Magnetic lock and utility carts including same
A magnetic lock which requires only a single magnet for operation, yet which is biased into a locking position. A latch is slideably mounted in a slide way defined by a housing with a latch opening at one end. The latch comprises a magnet at its base, and a latch positioner of ferromagnetic material is positioned within the housing alongside the latch. The positioner is longer than the magnet, such that the magnetic field biases the magnet to locate at the center of the length of the latch positioner. The latch itself is sufficiently long that it projects beyond the latch opening of the housing when the magnet is allowed to center. The slide way is open below the magnet a sufficient distance that when a key of a ferromagnetic, or optionally magnetic, material, is located near the base of the housing, the magnet and its associated latch are drawn further into the housing a sufficient distance that the latch is drawn out of the way of an associated catch.
