Rotary knob mechanical encoder
11380497 · 2022-07-05 · ·

A rotary knob for operating an electronically actuable deadbolt is described herein. According to some embodiments, the rotary knob includes a chassis, an outer wall rotatably coupled to the chassis about a central axis of the knob, a cantilevered beam attached to an inner surface of the outer wall and extending towards the central axis of the knob such that the beam is configured to rotate with the outer wall about the central axis, a circuit board coupled to the chassis, the circuit board including signal traces, and an electrical contact extending from the cantilevered beam in a direction toward the signal traces and electrically connectable with the signal traces. A controller of the rotary knob is configured to determine a position of the deadbolt based on at least the state of the electrical connection between the electrical contact and the signal traces.

Exit device trim locking

An exemplary trim lock device is configured for use with a trim comprising a lift finger, and generally includes a housing, a blocking member, and a lock actuator. The blocking member includes a projection, and is rotatably mounted to the housing for rotation between a blocking position in which the projection blocks actuating movement of the lift finger and an unblocking position in which the blocking member does not block actuating movement of the lift finger. The lock actuator is operable to rotate the blocking member between the blocking position and the unblocking position.

Electromechanical compression latch and latching system

Latch assemblies and systems are disclosed. One latch includes a latch and a receiver. The latch has a housing and a pin extending from the housing. The pin is mounted for longitudinal movement along a pin axis. The latch further includes a motor coupled to move the pin longitudinally. The receiver defines an aperture extending along a receiver axis and positioned to receive the pin of the latch. The receiver has a retainer biased toward the receiver axis. The latch assembly has an open position in which the pin is extended distally along the pin axis and received in the aperture, and a latched position in which the pin is retracted proximally along the pin axis while the retainer is engaged with the pin. One latch system includes a plurality of latch assemblies configured to move to the latched position after all latch assemblies are in the open position.

BOOTH

A booth includes: a booth body; a door that is openable and closable and that includes first and second end portions located at different positions in a widthwise direction of the door, a user-operable portion to be touched by a user to open and close the door being provided in the first end portion; and a door lock that is used for locking the door, the door being locked under control of current supply to the door lock. A portion of the door other than the first end portion is secured to the booth body by the door lock.

Electrified exit device

A latch dogging assembly comprises an electromagnet and an actuator mounted on a bracket. A guide slide is pivotally mounted on the bracket with a lead block coupled to the guide slide. A guide pin rides along an inner surface of the bracket causing the guide slide to pivot. A pawl is slidably engaged with the guide slide. A guide link includes a post. An armature is mounted to the panic bar and the post engages the pawl. When the actuator is energized to move the lead block, the pawl engages the post to pivot the armature and thereby cause the panic bar to move from the extended position to the depressed position. When the electromagnet is energized the armature is magnetically held preventing reverse pivoting of the guide link. A method for fully retracting a door latch is also provided.

LOCKING KNIFE HOLDER

A locking knife holder uses either mechanical or electronic locking systems to secure the knives into the holder. The electronic locking system includes the implementation of one or more electromagnets into the holder. The user can then selectively lock or unlock the knives in the holder by activating or deactivating, respectively the electromagnet. In other implementations, the mechanical locking system can use magnetic keys to unlock the mechanical locking system.

Fenestration lock assemblies, fenestration units including the lock assemblies, and methods of operating the lock assemblies. The lock assemblies offer a lock assembly construction that is capable of being assembled, installed, and used in a purely manual mode (i.e., in the absence of any driving unit such as, e.g., a motor, solenoid, etc.) or that may be assembled, installed, and used with a driving unit such that the lock assembly can be operated manually or in a driven mode, with the manual and driven modes of operation being unaffected by each other.

Push-to-open/signal-to-open appliance door latching system with an integrated locking device

Provided is a push-to-open latch for an oven appliance and other household appliances. The push-to-open latch includes an integrated locking device for locking an appliance door in place and initiate a downstream appliance function such as a self-cleaning function. The integrated locking device includes a rotating cam having a latching slot which engages a pawl. The rotating cam also includes a guiding ramp and a catch surface which may be used to engage a latching finger to lock the cam in place. In addition, the locking device may include a locking slide and a locking slide pin that is actuated by a solenoid to engage the cam. Once the appliance door is locked, one or more switches send a signal to the appliance controller to activate the downstream function.
