20230175289 · 2023-06-08 ·

An illustrative access control system includes a locking assembly operable in locked and unlocked states, and a drive assembly operable to actuate the locking assembly. The drive assembly includes an electromechanical actuator, and energy storage device, and a control system. The electromechanical actuator is operable, upon receiving power, to transition the locking assembly between the locked state and the unlocked state. The energy storage device is electrically coupled to the electromechanical actuator, and configured to store electrical power from the power supply when the drive assembly is coupled to the power supply. The control system is configured to couple the drive assembly to the power supply in response to a first condition, and to thereafter transmit energy only from the energy storage device to power the electromechanical actuator, based at least in part upon a level of energy stored in the energy storage device.

Electric latch retraction device for vertical rod door latches

An electric latch retraction device for vertical rod door latches includes an automatic adjustment feature including a limit switch and a linear sensor, such as a Hall effect sensor, which detects vertical position. A microcontroller monitors the vertical position of a pivoting retraction lever driven at the pivot by a linear driver. The housing for the electric latch retraction device is preferably external to the door and one end of the retraction lever extends into the door to drive a vertical rod door latch mechanism while an opposed end contacts the limit switch to signal that continued driving of the linear driver will begin to drive the vertical rod door latch. The microcontroller determines from the vertical position of the retraction lever when the limit switch is actuated whether the electric latch retraction device is mounted too high or too low.

ELECTRIC LOCK
20170328086 · 2017-11-16 · ·

An electric lock includes an input switching clutch for selectively transmitting the electric or manual driving force to the output line. The input switching clutch includes an outer ring that rotates together with an electrically driven input gear, and an inner ring which rotates together with an output gear. Wedge-shaped spaces are defined between the outer ring and the inner ring. Two rollers are mounted in each wedge-shaped space and are biased toward the narrow portions of the wedge-shaped space by a coil spring also mounted in the wedge-shaped space. The input switching clutch further includes an unlocking piece having crossbars inserted at both circumferential ends of the respective wedge-shaped spaces, and coupled to a manually driven input shaft so that its rotation can be transmitted thereto; and a torque transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotation of the manually driven input shaft to the inner ring.

System for a lock closure, a lock for use with such a system, and a closure system

A system for a closure lock comprises a battery-powered remote module with a lock mechanism for operating the lock, the remote module communicating with a base station coupled to a closure controller, the base station able to send lock control signals to the remote module to operate the lock. The module is arranged to have an operation mode and a non-operation mode, power consumption in the non-operation mode being lower than that in the operation mode, and is further configured to switch between the modes based on instructions from the base station. In the non-operation mode, the module maintains a communication link with the base station based on a pre-established synchronisation protocol.

The invention provides reliability against interference between base station and remote module, whilst greatly limiting the power consumption of the remote module.

Safety locking device

The present invention relates to a safety locking device for interlocking a safety door, having a movable part designed for being fastened to a moving part of the safety door and having a locking element, and a stationary part designed for being fastened to a non-moving part of the safety door. The stationary part includes a receiving section having an opening for the reception of the locking element, where the locking element can be inserted into the receiving section from different insertion directions when the locking element is aligned in the insertion direction. The stationary part includes a latch selectively movable from a locking position into a release position.

Lock devices, systems and methods

Disclosed are various embodiments of lock devices, systems, and methods. A lock of the application can include an internal mechanism to permit backdriven operation and lost motion operation. In one form the lock can be made from an assembly of parts that have locating features that require one way installation/assembly. The lock can include an internal power source capable of driving electronics used to determine handedness of a door.
