LOCKING STRUCTURE
A locking structure, for fastening together a first case and a second case, includes: a fastening portion disposed on the first case, a hook portion movable between a locking position and a release position, and a tension spring with one end disposed at the second case and the other end disposed at the hook portion. When the hook portion moves to the locking position under an applied force, the hook portion becomes fastened to the fastening portion. After the hook portion has separated from the fastening portion under an applied force, the tension spring exerts a restoring force under which the hook portion returns to the release position. After the hook portion has separated from the fastening portion under the applied force, the tension spring pulls the hook portion back to the release position without a user's manipulation.
Locking assembly for electronic tablet and other devices
A method for securing a portable electronic device having a housing to a substantially immovable object utilizing a locking assembly having a security rod or spike formed with an anchoring end separated axially by a protruding end, a locking device with an internal locking mechanism and a cable permanently attached to lire locking device at one end, includes several steps. The steps include securedly fixing the anchoring end of the security rod or spike to the portable electronic device upon or through the housing, attaching an other end of the cable to the substantially immovable object and inserting the protruding end of the security rod into an opening in the locking device to actuate the internal locking mechanism and lock the locking device to die captive security rod. Locking the security rod to the locking device concurrently locks the portable electronic device to which it is anchored to the substantially immovable object.
Electronic device and latching mechanism
A latching mechanism includes a latch provided to a first unit, provided with a first engaging portion at its tip, and is rotatable about a rotation shaft from a first rotation position to a second rotation position, a shaft support provided to the first unit, rotatably supporting the rotation shaft, and is movable between a first position and a second position, a biasing portion provided to the first unit, and biasing the shaft support in a direction from the first position to the second position, and a second engaging portion provided to a second unit, and is engageable with the first engaging portion. The first and second engaging portions engage when the second unit is closed with respect to the first unit, the shaft support lies at the second position, and the latch lies at the second rotation position.
Method of optimizing memory wire actuator energy output
An apparatus for locking an electronic device includes an actuator, a return mechanism, and an arm. The actuator includes an actuator SMM wire that is configured to apply a contraction force. The return mechanism includes a return SMM wire that is configured to apply a return force opposite the contraction force. The arm is movable toward an unlocked position by the actuator and movable toward a locked position by the return force. The arm has at least one equilibrium position with less than 1 Newton of force on the arm from the actuator and less than 1 Newton of force on the arm from the return mechanism.
Active pop-up finger access in a portable information handling system
Systems and methods for active pop-up finger access in a portable information handling system. The portable system may include a housing having a first housing portion and a second housing portion rotationally coupled by a hinge. The first housing portion may include an electromagnet disposed proximate a front portion of the first housing portion. The second housing portion may include a finger access feature proximate a front portion of the second housing portion and a second magnet disposed proximate the front portion of the second housing portion. The processor may, when a sensor detects a finger of a user proximate the finger access feature, activate the electromagnet to create a magnetic repulsion force with the first magnet. The magnetic repulsion force may cause the portable information handling system to move from a closed position to a finger access open position.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE, DOCK FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEM
An electronic device includes a first housing section and a second housing section of which one side is rotatably connected to the first housing section. A locking portion including a recessed portion which is recessed in a first direction is disposed in the first housing section, and a locking member that is movable between a first position and a second position and is urged toward the second position is disposed in the second housing section. A limiting member that is configured to move between the first position and the second position with insertion of an anchoring member and is configured to limit movement of the locking member from the second position to the first position is disposed in the second housing section.
Extension device and electronic system
An extension device, including a connecting base and an anti-theft lock assembly, is provided. The connecting base includes a housing, a first moving member, a fixed member, and a second moving member. The fixed member is disposed at one side of the housing and includes a lock hole. The second moving member is movably disposed between the first moving member and the fixed member. The anti-theft lock assembly is detachably disposed at one side of the fixed member opposite to the second moving member. The anti-theft lock assembly is adapted to pass through the lock hole of the fixed member and push against the second moving member, so that the second moving member abuts against the first moving member to stop the first moving member at a buckling position. In addition, an electronic system, including the extension device, is also provided.
Computing device security lock
A base member for a tablet computing device including a fastener to removably couple a tablet computing device to the base. A receptacle can receive a security lock to secure the base, wherein the security lock is to prevent the fastener from releasing the tablet computing device in a first mode and allows the releasing of the tablet computing device in a second mode.
LOCKING MECHANISMS IN ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Locking mechanisms and electronic devices having locking mechanisms are described herein. In one example, a locking mechanism includes a latch configured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position, wherein a component of the electronic device is secured in the locked position and removable in the unlocked position. The locking mechanism further includes a memory wire in communication with the latch, wherein the memory wire is configured to contract in length to move the latch between the locked position and the unlocked position to release the component of the electronic device.
Door bolt structure of electronic device
A door bolt structure of an electronic device includes a door frame, a door panel, and a resilient metallic wire. The door panel is movably disposed at the door frame and provides a hermetic seal to the door frame. The two ends of the resilient metallic wire are connected to the door panel. The resilient metallic wire bends to form hook portions which protrude from the edge of the door panel. When the door panel provides a hermetic seal for the door frame, the hook portions are engaged with an inner edge of the door frame. When pulled, the resilient metallic wire drives the hook portions to separate from the door frame, thereby allowing the door panel to move relative to the door frame.
