Tilt latch apparatus and sashes incorporating same
Tilt latch apparatus and sashes incorporating the same are described herein. The tilt latch apparatus tilt latch apparatus may provide a convenient mechanism for a user to release the tilt latches on a sash with one hand while controlling movement (e.g., rotation) of the sash with another hand.
AUTOMATIC SLIDING PANEL DEADBOLT LOCK ASSEMBLY
A sliding panel deadbolt lock assembly that is associated with a sliding panel that transitions between an open position and a closed position relative to a stationary panel that is coupled to the sliding panel. A sliding panel lock assembly includes a pin that transitions between an engaged position and a retracted position. A first magnetic field sensing device is positioned at the retracted position of the pin when the pin is in the retracted position to enable the sliding panel to transition from the closed position. The first magnetic field sensing device detects a magnetic field generated by a first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin. The first magnetic field sensing device positioned at the retracted position of the pin is aligned with the first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin when the pin is in the retracted position.
Cabinet lock for use with programmable electronic key
A cabinet lock for protecting merchandise within a merchandise display cabinet having an inner door and an outer door. The cabinet lock includes a strike plate affixed to the inner door and a lock housing affixed to the outer door such that the cabinet is in a locked configuration that prevents access to the merchandise when the lock housing is operably engaged to the strike plate. A programmable electronic key communicates a security code with the cabinet lock and transfers electrical power to the cabinet lock to operate a lock mechanism between the locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. An indicator is provided for indicating whether the cabinet lock is in the locked configuration or the unlocked configuration. The indicator includes a first segment and a second segment that can be energized to visually indicate the status of the cabinet lock.
Locking device for window or door and method of operating thereof
A locking device for a window or a door, wherein the window or the door has a sash slidable in a horizontal direction within a frame. When a user turns on a switch to control a block to move from the first position to the second position, the block protrudes out of a vertical surface of the sash, thereby driving a linkage member to disengage from the frame. At this time, the user could hold and push the block in the horizontal direction to move the sash between a third position and a fourth position. When the sash is pushed back to the third position, the block could be controlled to move back to the first position, namely back to a mounting groove, thereby moving the linkage member to a position where the linkage member is engaged with the frame. A method of operating thereof is provided as well.
Lockset for interior sliding door
A door lockset for a sliding door includes a latch assembly, a plunger, a plunger retention assembly, and a secondary unlocking feature. The latch assembly has a first end and a second end. The plunger is positioned at least partially within the latch assembly. The plunger is movable between an extended position and a retracted position relative to the second end of the latch assembly. The plunger retention assembly has a first end having a recess, a second end opposing the first end, and an actuation member positioned at least partially within the plunger retention assembly. The plunger is configured to engage the recess in the extended position.
Pass through access opening closure device
A closure device for a prison or hospital door having an access opening therethrough enables articles to be passed through the door without endangering the guard or hospital worker delivering the articles. The closure device includes a rectangular box having a top surface formed with a transparent panel, a hinged front access door, a vertically slidable rear access gate and an actuation mechanism for controlling the movement of the gate. The actuation mechanism has a pivoted actuator handle coupled to the rear gate to affect vertical movement thereof and a spring-loaded supplemental lock that requires release against a lock bar secured to the rear gate before the actuator handle can be moved. The rectangular box can have two opposing side walls or be formed with an open side that closes against a cover member secured to the door frame to close the open side of the box.
DIRECT ACTION WINDOW LOCK
A window latch for a sliding window having a sliding sash including a latch plate and a housing. The housing includes an engagement element movable relative to the housing from a locked position operatively engaged with the latch plate to an unlocked position disengaged from the latch plate. A handle is operatively coupled to the engagement element and movable from a first position to a second position in a first direction corresponding to the direction the sliding sash to which the handle is attached moves to an open position. The handle operatively moves the engagement element from the locked position to the unlocked position as the handle is moved in the first direction toward the second position.
Locking assembly for sliding doors
A method including placing a first adhesive on a first surface of a strike plate, wherein the strike plate includes a pocket extending into a second surface of the strike plate opposite the first surface of the strike plate. The method further includes placing a second adhesive on a first surface of a lock module, wherein the lock module includes a bolt operable to extend beyond a second surface of the lock module. The method also includes aligning the pocket with the bolt such that the bolt is operable to extend into the pocket, and with the pocket and the bolt aligned with one another, releasably joining the strike plate and the lock module with a releasable coupler, thereby forming an aligned locking assembly.
