MANUAL RELEASE SAFETY SYSTEM AND METHOD
An emergency escape system is provided. The system comprises a quick release safety pin, a manual release box configured with a metal jacket that contains the pin, and a swing arm attached via a rod to a locking mechanism, the swing arm held immobile by the pin. Upon release of the pin, the arm is configured to move in a horizontal direction and cause the rod to pull and release the locking mechanism from an engaged position. The locking mechanism, when in engaged position, securely maintains at least one of a window, a door, and a panel. The safety pin, the metal jacket, and the swing arm are positioned on an outward facing surface of the manual release box. A load spring surrounding the rod is manipulated by action of the swing arm and causes release of the locking mechanism.
Auto-Latching Latch Assembly
An auto-latching latch assembly (10) is mounted to a follower door (275) of a double door (257). The latch assembly (10) includes a latch (231) movable between an unlatching position and a latching position and a movable member (50) jointly movable with the latch (231). A positioning member (911) is jointly pivotable with the movable member (50). When the latch (231) moves to the unlatching position, the positioning member (911) positions the latch (231) in the unlatching position. When the follower door (275) is closed while a primary door (259) of the double door (257) is closed, an actuation latch (131) presses against and releases the positioning member (911) to move the latch (231) to the latching position, reliably locking the follower door (275).
VENTED SAFETY CABINET WITH THERMALLY-ACTUATED DAMPER
A safety cabinet includes an enclosure and at least one door to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet can be used to store, for example, flammable liquids, flammable waste, corrosives, pesticides, or combustible waste. The safety cabinet incorporates a thermally-actuated damper that includes a body, a valve plate, and a pivot assembly. The valve plate is disposed within the passage of the body such that the valve plate is movable between an open position and a closed position. The pivot assembly includes a biasing system adapted to bias the valve plate to the closed position and a fusible link interconnected between the body and the biasing system to constrain the valve plate from moving from the open position to the closed position. The fusible link is configured to melt at a predetermined temperature to thereby allow the biasing system to move the valve plate to the closed position.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR CLOSURES
A safety device for closures that comprises, a casing (6) that can be fastened in a closure, a bolt (4) that is movable inside the casing (6), a stop (4.1) that is integral to the bolt (4), a seal (2) arranged in a fixed manner with respect to the casing (6), a spring (5) in contact with the stop (4.1) and arranged in a compressed manner in the casing (6) due to the effect of the seal (2); wherein the seal (2) is made of a material that is configured to change state at a preset temperature, such that when it changes state, the spring (5) is free to move the bolt (4), passing through the seal (2) until it projects outside the casing (6).
Latch assembly
A latch assembly disposed in an anti-fire door includes a tube, a blocking pin, an elastic member and a wedging member, wherein the tube comprises a main body and an accommodating space. The main body comprises a constraining slot communicating with the accommodating space, wherein the blocking pin, the elastic member and the wedging member are disposed in the accommodating space. The elastic member is used for pushing the blocking pin and the wedging member to move and making the blocking pin protruding to the tube and lodging in a door frame. The wedging member lodged in the constraining slot is used for blocking the blocking pin protruded to the tube therefore preventing the blocking pin from retracting back into the accommodating space.
Fire door lock
A fire door lock is provides. A first opening unit is installed in a fire door panel to move a door locking bolt. A second opening unit laterally located on the fire door has a pressing handle coupled with an actuating block for operating the locking bolt. When the pressing handle is pushed and pressed, the actuating block activates an actuating rod and a linking arm to move horizontally. One end of the linking arm is coupled to a driving lever which is induced by the linking arm to swing. One end of the driving lever has a pulley extending into the first opening unit to activate a locking bolt base connected to the locking bolt to move horizontally. The locking bolt is accordingly adapted to extend from or retract into the first opening unit in a horizontal direction to facilitate the release or engagement of the lock.
Blocking structure of anti-fire door lock
A blocking structure of an anti-fire door lock includes a latch set, a blocking pin set and a blocking base, wherein the latch set comprises a lock base and a latch that pivotally connected to the lock base. The blocking pin set disposed in an accommodating hole of the latch comprises a blocking pin and an elastic member, and the blocking base comprises a constraining slot. The elastic member is used for pushing the blocking pin to move and making the blocking pin to lodge into the constraining slot to prevent an anti-fire door from being opened.
DUAL FUNCTION SECURITY/FIRE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR FIRE RATED DEVICES
An exit device located in a door frame having a door strike including a latchbolt assembly, a pushbar assembly, and a link assembly. The latchbolt assembly includes an extended position configured to engage the door strike, and a retracted position configured to move past the door strike. The pushbar assembly moves from a released position to a pressed position to move the latchbolt assembly from the extended position to the retracted position. The link assembly is operatively connected to the pushbar assembly and includes a security link having an elongated aperture and a pin configured to extend through the elongated aperture about which the security link rotates. A keeper surrounds the pin and supports the security link for rotation. In the event of extreme heat, the keeper melts and the security link moves to a position to substantially prevent opening of the door.
Shape memory alloy locking mechanism
A hardware retention mechanism comprising a frame including a first guide shoulder and a pivot point; an actuator arm including a first guide post; and a first shape memory alloy wire strung between the first guide shoulder and the first guide post that rotates the actuator arm between a locked position and an unlocked position. The actuator arm is rotatable around the pivot point between a locked position and an unlocked position. In some embodiments, the frame may further comprise a second guide shoulder, the actuator arm may further comprise a second guide post, and a second shape memory alloy wire may be strung between the second guide shoulder and the second guide post that rotates the actuator arm between an unlocked position and a locked position.
