Exit device assembly

An exit device assembly for use in association with a door having a top, a bottom and a generally vertical surface. The exit door assembly includes an exit device configured to be mounted on the surface of the door, the exit device including a manually movable member, a latch mechanism configured to be mounted adjacent one of the top and the bottom of the door, the latch mechanism including a latch movable between a locking position and a non-locking position, and a non-rigid device for causing movement of the latch in response to movement of the manually movable member.

Universal door lock-driving assembly

A universal door lock-driving assembly is installed in an exterior space of a door panel. The door panel is furnished with at least one of an embedded lock cartridge, an embedded vertical-extending lock bar assembly and an exposed vertical-extending lock bar assembly. The universal door lock-driving assembly includes a base set, an action unit, a driving member and a slidable unit. The slidable unit can assemble a first assembling member and a second assembling member. The first assembling member can apply a penetration slot on the base set to generate interaction with the embedded lock cartridge or the embedded vertical-extending lock bar assembly. The second assembling member can interact with an exposed lock bar. Thus, the universal door lock-driving assembly can be used to unlock at least the lock cartridge and the lock bar assembly.

ELECTRIFIED EXIT DEVICE

A latch dogging assembly comprises an electromagnet and an actuator mounted on a bracket. A guide slide is pivotally mounted on the bracket with a lead block coupled to the guide slide. A guide pin rides along an inner surface of the bracket causing the guide slide to pivot. A pawl is slidably engaged with the guide slide. A guide link includes a post. An armature is mounted to the panic bar and the post engages the pawl. When the actuator is energized to move the lead block, the pawl engages the post to pivot the armature and thereby cause the panic bar to move from the extended position to the depressed position. When the electromagnet is energized the armature is magnetically held preventing reverse pivoting of the guide link. A method for fully retracting a door latch is also provided.

MULTI-POINT EXIT DEVICE

A center slide assembly for a multi-point exit device. Upper and lower spool assemblies may be displaced from first positions to second positions along an inner region of a center slide. The displacement of the spool assemblies may displace upper and lower pull cables so as to retract latch mechanisms from extended positions to retracted positions. A first latching pin may be displaced, along with the displacement of the upper spool assembly, along an abutment surface of a tilting link so as to pivotally displace the tilting link from an unlocked position to a locked position. Displacement of the lower spool assembly may displace a second latching pin to a position wherein the second latching pin may be received and retained within a jog of the tilting link when the tilting link is in the locked position, which may thereby retain the associated latch mechanism in the retracted position.

Embodiments described herein relate to an exit device having a construction that facilitates visual inspection of the state of the exit device. Embodiments of the exit device include a visual indicator as to the state (dogged or undogged) of the exit device.

Interchangeable Latch Assembly for an Exit Device

A door latch system comprises an interchangeable latch assembly for securing a door to a door frame. The interchangeable latch assembly comprises a head and a latch mounted to the head. The latch is moveable between latched and unlatched positions. A driven member is operatively connected to the latch, the driven member moveable to latch or unlatch the latch. The door latch system further comprises a universal actuating assembly removably couple-able to the interchangeable latch assembly. The universal actuating assembly comprises a mounting bracket and a driving member releasably coupled to the driven member. Actuation of the universal actuating assembly translates the driving member and the driven member, moving the latch to the unlatched position. A first interchangeable latch assembly may be swapped with a second interchangeable latch assembly without requiring modification of the universal actuating assembly.

An exit device for a door includes an elongate housing, a latch, a touch bar assembly, a panel, and a dogging assembly. The elongate housing is configured to be mounted to the door. The touch bar assembly is attached to the elongate housing. The touch bar assembly includes a touch bar that is movable relative to the elongate housing and has a linkage that operably connects the touch bar to the latch. The panel is connected to the elongate housing. The dogging assembly has a combination lock dogging operator and a dogging mechanism. The dogging mechanism is rotatably coupled to the elongate housing. The combination lock dogging operator is mounted to the panel, and is drivably engaged with the dogging mechanism.

CYLINDRICAL LATCH EXIT DEVICE

A push bar door exit device includes a latch actuation assembly configured to be installed in a door and including a linearly-movable latch retractor; a door latch operatively coupled to the latch retractor so as to be moved from a latched position to an unlatched position by the linear movement of the latch retractor; and a push bar mechanism configured for being mounted on the door and including a linearly-movable push bar operatively coupled to the latch actuation assembly so as to translate a linear motion of the push bar into the linear movement of the latch retractor.

An apparatus includes a panel swingably mounted relative to a frame, and a locking element supported by a support arrangement. The support arrangement supports the locking element relative to the frame so as to be displaceable between a locked position in which at least part of the locking element is interposed between a pressure surface of the panel and a contact surface of the frame, thereby locking the panel to the frame, and an unlocked position. The support arrangement defines a path of motion of the locking element from an unlocked position to the locked position in which at least a terminal part of the path of motion is in a direction obliquely angled relative to a plane of closure of the panel within the frame.
