ELECTRIC LATCH RETRACTION WITH POWER INTERRUPT
An exemplary access control device includes a locking member having a locked position and an unlocked position; an electronic actuator operably connected with the locking member; a switch connected between the electronic actuator and a power supply, the switch having a closed state in which the electronic actuator is connected to the power supply and is operable to maintain the locking member in the unlocked position, the switch having an open state in which the electronic actuator is disconnected from the power supply; and a manual actuator operable to transition the switch between the open state and the closed state.
Emergency incident detection, response, and mitigation using autonomous drones
A system may be configured to detect an emergency condition at a premises; dispatch one or more autonomous drones to a location associated with the emergency condition; receive from the one or more autonomous drones, sensor data associated with the emergency condition; generate, based on the sensor data, a plan identifying an evacuation route for safely evacuating the premises; and transmit an instruction that causes the one or more autonomous drones to indicate, to one or more persons in a vicinity of the emergency condition, the evacuation route. The system may further detect, based on the sensor data, one or more safe areas in the premises, and the evacuation route may pass through at least one of the one or more safe areas.
EXIT DEVICE WITH OVER-TRAVEL MECHANISM
An over-travel mechanism configured to couple an input shaft and an output shaft in an exit device assembly. The input shaft is connected to an actuator that linearly displaces the input shaft, and the output shaft is connected to a locking member of the exit device. The over-travel mechanism includes a link coupled to the output shaft, and a preloaded elastic member transmits force between the input shaft and the link. Movement of the input shaft from a first input shaft position to a second input shaft position causes the elastic member to urge the link from a first link position toward a second link position. Movement of the input shaft from the second input shaft position to a third input shaft position causes the elastic member to elastically deform without moving the link from the second link position.
ELECTRIFIED EXIT DEVICE
A latch dogging assembly comprises an electromagnet and an actuator mounted on a bracket. A guide slide is pivotally mounted on the bracket with a lead block coupled to the guide slide. A guide pin rides along an inner surface of the bracket causing the guide slide to pivot. A pawl is slidably engaged with the guide slide. A guide link includes a post. An armature is mounted to the panic bar and the post engages the pawl. When the actuator is energized to move the lead block, the pawl engages the post to pivot the armature and thereby cause the panic bar to move from the extended position to the depressed position. When the electromagnet is energized the armature is magnetically held preventing reverse pivoting of the guide link. A method for fully retracting a door latch is also provided.
Exit device systems and methods
An exit device according to one embodiment includes a plurality of sensors and an electronic dogging mechanism. The exit device is configured to locally analyze sensor data to determine the security state of the exit device, report data to a management system via a wireless communication channel established between the exit device and the management system, and receive and process instructions to perform an electronic dogging operation.
Electric Door Lock Controller and Monitoring System and Method of Use
An electric door lock and monitoring system and method of use provides for intelligent control of a door lock, including fire alarm control and monitoring. The system employs location-based rules to facilitate code compliance, such that the system controls the door lock at least in part based on a selected subset of the location-based rules data, the subset of location-based rules data being automatically selected by the processor at least in part based on data indicative of a geographic location of the electronic door lock. The system, also employs spoken word alarms increase in frequency and/or in sound pitch over time to portray increased urgency.
USER SENSING EXIT DEVICE
One embodiment relates to an exit device assembly. The exit device assembly includes a center case, a push pad movably mounted on the center case, and a mechanical case coupled to the center case, wherein the exit device includes an opening. The assembly also includes a sensor aligned with the opening, wherein the sensor is structured to detect a user from a distance through the opening and to generate an output signal in response to detecting the user. The assembly also includes a latch and a latch actuator. The assembly also includes a controller in communication with the sensor and the latch actuator, wherein the controller is structured to transmit an actuating signal in response to receiving the output signal from the sensor, wherein the latch actuator is configured to move the latch from the locked position to the unlocked position in response to the actuating signal.
ROTATION CONVERTER
An exemplary rotation converter includes an input component, an output component, and an intermediate component engaged between the input component and the output component. The input component is rotatable from an input component home position in each of a first direction and an opposite second direction. The intermediate component is configured to move to an actuated position in response to rotation of the input component in either direction, and to rotate the output component in an actuating direction as the intermediate component moves to the actuated position.
Strike assembly for door locking mechanism, and method of operation
The electric strike can have a housing having an internal face receivable against a receiving face of a door frame, an external strike face, a socket recessed into the strike face along a socket axis normal to the receiving face of the door frame, for receiving a male locking member retractably mounted to a door, the male locking member also being moveable transversally to the socket axis, along a horizontal escape path, by opening the door, the electric strike further having a keeper pivotally mounted around a pivot axis between a closed configuration and an open configuration, the pivot axis parallel to the socket axis and offset from the escape path on a first side of the socket, inside the housing, the keeper having a gate member forming a restraining wall of the socket blocking the escape path when in the closed configuration, and a distal end.
