UNIVERSAL ELECTRONIC LATCH RETRACTION MECHANISM

An electronic latch retraction mechanism for an exit device may include an actuator including an output shaft coupled to a crank head, where the crank head is configured to rotate between first and second rotational positions. The electronic latch retraction mechanism may also include a crank coupled to the crank head such that the crank is at least partially rotatable to the crank head, where the crank is configured to engage a push bar of the exit device to move the push bar from the from the extended position to the retracted position when the crank head moves from the first rotational position to the second rotational position.

Embodiments described herein relate to an exit device having a construction that facilitates visual inspection of the state of the exit device. Embodiments of the exit device include a visual indicator as to the state (dogged or undogged) of the exit device.

DUAL FUNCTION SECURITY/FIRE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR FIRE RATED DEVICES
20240141699 · 2024-05-02 ·

An exit device located in a door frame having a door strike including a latchbolt assembly, a pushbar assembly, and a link assembly. The latchbolt assembly includes an extended position configured to engage the door strike, and a retracted position configured to move past the door strike. The pushbar assembly moves from a released position to a pressed position to move the latchbolt assembly from the extended position to the retracted position. The link assembly is operatively connected to the pushbar assembly and includes a security link having an elongated aperture and a pin configured to extend through the elongated aperture about which the security link rotates. A keeper surrounds the pin and supports the security link for rotation. In the event of extreme heat, the keeper melts and the security link moves to a position to substantially prevent opening of the door.

DOGGING INDICATOR FOR DOOR EXIT DEVICE

A dogging mechanism for an exit device may include a dogging indicator configured to pivot about a pivot axis over a travel path between a first position and a second position, where the travel path comprises a midpoint between the first position and the second position. The dogging mechanism may also include a spring coupled to the dogging indicator, where the spring is configured to bias the dogging indicator towards the first position when the dogging indicator is positioned on the travel path between the midpoint and the first position, and where the spring is configured to bias the dogging indicator towards the second position when the dogging indicator is positioned on the travel path between the midpoint and the second position.

Emergency Access Privacy Lock and Access Key

An exit device according to one embodiment includes a plurality of sensors and an electronic dogging mechanism. The exit device is configured to locally analyze sensor data to determine the security state of the exit device, report data to a management system via a wireless communication channel established between the exit device and the management system, and receive and process instructions to perform an electronic dogging operation.

Universal dogging and electronic latch retraction

A dogging mechanism for an exit device may include a progressive latching arrangement to allow for dogging at a plurality of positions of a push bar. An electronic latch retraction device may include a camming arrangement configured to provide mechanical advantage when retracting a push bar of an exit device.

EXIT DEVICE WITH OVER-TRAVEL MECHANISM
20190136582 · 2019-05-09 ·

An over-travel mechanism configured to couple an input shaft and an output shaft in an exit device assembly. The input is connected to an actuator that linearly displaces the input shaft, and the output shaft is connected to a locking member of the exit device. The over-travel mechanism includes a link coupled to the output shaft, and a preloaded elastic member transmits force between the input shaft and the link. Movement of the input shaft from a first input shaft position to a second input shaft position causes the elastic member to urge the link from a first link position toward a second link position. Movement of the input shaft from the second input shaft position to a third input shaft position causes the elastic member to elastic member to elastically deform without moving the link from the second link position.

EXIT DEVICE WITH SELF-ADJUSTING COUPLING MECHANISM
20190128018 · 2019-05-02 ·

An exemplary exit device includes a remote latch mechanism and a transmission assembly operably coupled with the remote latch mechanism. The exit device further includes a pushbar assembly including a drive assembly and a latch control assembly operably coupled with the drive assembly such that the drive assembly is operable to actuate the latch control assembly. A self-adjusting coupling assembly operably connects the transmission assembly with the latch control assembly. The self-adjusting coupling assembly includes a lift finger movably mounted to a movable component of the latch control assembly, and a spring urging the lift finger into contact with a transmission of the transmission assembly. A first fastener selectively secures the first lift finger to the first movable component.

EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOW SYSTEM

There are provided emergency exit window systems. In one form, there is provided an emergency exit window system that includes: a frame; a sash pivotally carried by the frame so as to pivot between a closed position in which the sash is flush with the frame, and an open position permitting human egress through the frame; and a locking mechanism adapted for locking the window sash in the closed position. The locking mechanism may include a locking arm movably carried by the sash, wherein the locking arm is movable relative to the sash between a lock position and an unlock position. Further, the locking mechanism may include at least one biasing member acting between the locking arm and the sash to bias the locking arm toward the lock position; an inwardly projecting locking catch fixedly carried by the frame; and an inwardly projecting safety guard movably carried by the frame.
