SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOBILE DEVICE INVENTORY CONTROL
A system and method for mobile device inventory control is disclosed. A mobile device is docked and locked in a docking station. When a user wishes to retrieve the mobile device from the docking station, the user may access software, such as an app, on the mobile device that is configured to receive user identification information, such as a user ID. The mobile device transmits the user identification information to an inventory control server, which determines whether to authorize the removal of the mobile device from the docking station. Responsive to the inventory control server authorizing the removal, the mobile device sends a command to the docking station to unlock the docking station. Responsive to the inventory control server denying the removal, the mobile device causes an output to be generated, either on the mobile device or on the docking station, indicating the denial. Thus, the mobile device functionality, including the interface, the communication, the processing, and the memory functionality, may be leverage in order to manage inventory control of the mobile devices.
Security lock for electronic device
A security apparatus having a lock head and lock body is disclosed. The lock head includes lock fingers capable of shifting horizontally. When collapsed, the lock fingers may be withdrawn from a security slot of a portable electronic device. Engaging members are set at the lock head and lock body respectively such that the two can be secured together or be readily removable from each other when needed. The lock body includes a locking mechanism operably coupled to the lock head. Configurations of the lock fingers are alterable via the locking mechanism. The lock head and the locking mechanism are on different planes.
Secure tablet mount
A tablet support includes a backing member and a faceplate connected to the backing member to at least partially define a housing configured to receive a tablet. A bracket is configured to retain the tablet in the housing. The housing includes a first connecting feature and the bracket includes a second connecting feature configured to mate with the first connecting feature. Adjustment of one of the first connecting feature and the second connecting feature determines the relative position of the tablet in the housing.
Extension device and electronic system
An extension device, including a connecting base and an anti-theft lock assembly, is provided. The connecting base includes a housing, a first moving member, a fixed member, and a second moving member. The fixed member is disposed at one side of the housing and includes a lock hole. The second moving member is movably disposed between the first moving member and the fixed member. The anti-theft lock assembly is detachably disposed at one side of the fixed member opposite to the second moving member. The anti-theft lock assembly is adapted to pass through the lock hole of the fixed member and push against the second moving member, so that the second moving member abuts against the first moving member to stop the first moving member at a buckling position. In addition, an electronic system, including the extension device, is also provided.
Electronic system with locking function by electronically controlled
An electronic system with an electronically controlled electronic locking mechanism is provided. The system includes a first electronic device having a first part, a first fastening element, a second part, and an electronic locking element. The first fastening element is pivotally connected to the first part and rotates relatively to the first part. The second part includes a fastening portion. The electronic locking element is disposed at the first part, electronically connected to the first electronic device, and connected to the first fastening element. When the fastening portion of the second part contacts and fastens to the first fastening element of the first part, the first electronic device supplies power to the electronic locking element, and thus the electronic locking element fixes the first fastening element to lock the first part and the second part together.
Secure 3D printer and 3D printer management network
A printer management system includes one or more printing devices having a printing area for printing according to a digital file, an access area through which a user may access the printing area, and a locking mechanism configured to lock the access area preventing access to the printing area. A management server is communicatively coupled to the one or more printing devices over a communication network and is configured to receive a print request from one or more user devices or one of the one or more printing devices to print the digital file, transmit the digital file to one of the one or more printing devices, and transmit commands to lock and unlock the locking mechanism of the one or more printing devices. In one embodiment the management system is configured to update a printing status of each of the one or more printing devices.
Information processing system, electronic device, and method with device theft prevention capabilities
According to one embodiment, an information processing system includes a first electronic device, a second electronic device connectable with the first electronic device, and a security lock. The security lock is configured to attach to the second electronic device when the first electronic device and the second electronic device are connected with each other, the security lock for preventing the second electronic device from being stolen, and in association with the security lock, a first lock for preventing separation of the first electronic device from the second electronic device.
INTEGRATED SECURITY LOCK
A security lock is provided for a mobile device. The security lock includes a pair of locking elements and a pair of electromechanical actuators. Each locking element has a profile configured to complement a profile of a locking tab of an external locking assembly. Each electromechanical actuator is configured to engage an associated one of the locking elements to lock the locking tab to the mobile device, and to disengage the associated locking element to unlock the locking tab.
Method and apparatus for a modular digital chassis lock assembly in an information handling system
A lock for an information handling system includes a sensor configured to detect removal of an element from a chassis prior to verification of a user credential, and a plunger that engages the chassis at a first position. A security controller verifies the user credential, and causes the muscle wire to move the plunger from the first position to a second position in response to the verified user credential.
