HOOD FOR A VEHICLE
A hood for a vehicle having a latch support bar that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The latch support bar is arranged on the inner side of the hood in the front region in the direction of travel. The latch support bar is arranged symmetrically with respect to the outer skin of the hood. The latch support bar has a latch element. The latch element produces a detachable connection of the hood to the vehicle, which can be detached by an operating element. The latch support bar is connected to the hood at a minimum of two fastening points spaced as far apart from one another as possible in order to reliably absorb lateral applications of force. In this way, reliable retention of the hood is advantageously ensured.
Active pedestrian hood latch with dual function cam lever
A hood latch for a motor vehicle is provided. The hood latch includes a lift lever, a pawl, a ratchet, a control lever and an actuator. The control lever has a first cam surface and a second cam surface. The actuator is configured for actuation in response to a signal detected by a sensor. The actuator is actuatable in response to the signal to move into engagement with the control lever to bring the first cam surface into operable engagement with the pawl to move the pawl out of locked engagement with the ratchet, whereupon the second cam surface is brought into engagement with the lift lever to rotate the lift lever into engagement with a striker, fixed to a hood of the motor vehicle, to move the hood to a partially open state.

Closure latch assembly for front trunk with pedestrian protection features
A pedestrian protection feature for a closure latch assembly and method for moving a hood of a motor vehicle to a pop-up position and an open position are provided. The pedestrian protection feature includes an actuator configured to translate a slide cam member to cause a hook to pivot into a striker retaining position to prevent removal of a striker from the closure latch assembly and to pivot a lift lever into engagement with the striker to move the striker toward the hook, whereat the hood is moved to the pop-up position, and optionally a release feature to move the hook from the striker retaining position to a striker releasing position to allow the hood to be moved from the pop-up position to an open position.

LATCH ASSEMBLY FOR A HOOD OF A VEHICLE, A HOOD ELEVATION SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LATCH ASSEMBLY
A latch assembly for a hood of a vehicle including a first plate including an elongated slot extending in a horizontal direction (H), a second plate, a first member being mechanically connected to the second plate, the first member extending in a vertical direction (V) through the elongated slot, slidably connecting the first plate to the second plate, at least one deformable element, in a retracted position of the latch assembly, securing the first plate to the second plate in the horizontal direction (H), and the at least one deformable element being arranged to deform upon impact in the horizontal direction (H) allowing the first plate to slide relative to the second plate in the horizontal direction (H) to an extended position. The present disclosure further relates to a hood elevation system for a vehicle and a method for manufacturing a latch assembly for a hood of a vehicle.

ACTUATION SYSTEM FOR A CLOSURE PANEL INCLUDING A POP UP SAFETY SYSTEM FOR HINGES
An actuation system for facilitating opening and closing of a closure panel of a vehicle via a hinge, the actuation system comprising: a pop up safety system mounted to a body of the vehicle adjacent to the hinge, the pop up safety system including a bracket connected to the closure panel; and a coupling mechanism coupling the hinge to the body in order to facilitate moving the closure panel from a closed hinge position to an open hinge position, such that the bracket is also connected to the coupling mechanism; wherein when the pop up safety system is operated, the bracket is decoupled from the coupling mechanism in order to facilitate movement of the closure panel away from the coupling mechanism.

HOOD LATCH CRASH OPENING PREVENTION
The present invention relates to a hood latch system for a vehicle comprising a hood having a striker, the system comprises: a spring loaded claw rotatable between an engaged position in which the striker is locked in place by the claw, and an open position in which the striker is disengaged from the claw, and a main pawl rotatable between a first position in which the claw is held in place by the main pawl in the engaged position and a second position in which the claw is released by the main pawl whereby the claw is allowed to rotate into the open position. When the main pawl is caused to be activated for rotating from the first position to the second position by a crash acceleration force, the main pawl is configured to prevent the striker from being released.
