Dynamic element protection

Some embodiments provide a vehicle that includes a protection system configured to mitigate hazards to vehicle occupants posed by dynamic elements located within proximity of the vehicle. The vehicle can, in response to determining that a dynamic element is moving along a trajectory that intersects a sweep volume of a vehicle portal, can selectively restrict operation of the portal so that an occupant is restricted from opening the portal into a volume through which the dynamic element may pass. The vehicle can restrict portal operation in response to detecting external dynamic elements that are not within an occupant's field of vision. The vehicle can communicate a limited selection of vehicle sensor data, including representations of a detected dynamic element, to a user device supporting an authorized user in response to detecting that the dynamic element is located within a certain proximity of the vehicle.

Motor-driven door latch for vehicle

A motor-driven door ratchet includes a catch part configured to lock a vehicle door to a vehicle body by being caught by a striker mounted on the vehicle body. A door locking and release part includes a main motor and is configured to allow the catch part to be locked or released from the striker. An inside emergency operation lever is connected to an inside handle installed in the vehicle door and is configured to be rotated by receiving a manipulation force to allow the vehicle door to be opened by applying torque to the catch part. An outside emergency operation lever is connected to an outside handle installed in the vehicle door and is configured to be rotated by receiving a manipulation force to allow the vehicle door to be opened by applying torque to the catch part.

MOTOR VEHICLE CLOSURE SYSTEM WITH ELECTRONIC LATCH AND HANDLE HAVING TWO-PIN HANDLE SWITCH
20170314302 · 2017-11-02 ·

An electronic latch for a motor vehicle closure system with an electronic control circuit including a handle switch reading circuit for a two-pin handle switch and a method of operating the handle switch reading circuit are disclosed. The electronic control circuit includes a control unit. The handle switch reading circuit is controlled by the control unit for coupling with a handle switch subassembly. The handle switch reading circuit is adapted to supply an AC voltage to the handle switch subassembly and produce an output voltage waveform corresponding to the charging and discharging of a handle capacitor of the handle switch subassembly and in response to a handle switch of the handle switch subassembly being operated. The handle switch reading circuit determines a position of the handle switch and presence of faults in the handle switch reading circuit and the handle switch subassembly based on the output voltage waveform.

CINCHING LATCH ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICLE

A cinching latch assembly for a vehicle may include a base plate, a first locking groove formed on the base plate by being depressed from an upper end of the base plate toward a middle hereof for insertion of a striker into the first locking groove, a first rotation shaft provided on the base plate at a first side of the first locking groove, and a safety hook rotatably combined with the first rotation shaft at a first end of the safety hook, with a hook provided at a second end of the safety hook, the hook disposed to block the first locking groove, in which when the striker is inserted into the first locking groove, the safety hook opens the first locking groove by rotating on the first rotation shaft, and blocks the first locking groove, thereby performing a first-level locking.

AUTO-LOCK SYSTEM FOR DOOR WINDOW FRAME LATERAL RETENTION

A lateral impact retention system for a vehicle door includes a door window frame retainer configured for mounting to the vehicle body and a pivoting catch configured for mounting to a window frame of the door. The pivoting catch engages the retainer when the door is subjected to a door-displacing lateral impact, but is not connected to any door-operating mechanism of the door. During normal operation of the door between the fully closed and open configurations, the pivoting catch automatically inserts into and displaces from the retainer.

VEHICLE DOOR HAVING AN EXTENDABLE DOOR HANDLE
20220042355 · 2022-02-10 ·

A motor vehicle door has a shell and a door handle that can be moved laterally in relation to a vehicle longitudinal axis between a retracted and an extended position. In the retracted position the door handle is in a recess adjusted to the contour of the door handle, the recess being arranged in the shell of the vehicle door with a door handle surface substantially flush with the shell. In the extended position, the door handle is moved laterally outwards so that it is actuatable from outside for opening the vehicle door. In the extended position, the door handle is firstly in active connection with a switch, which is coupled to the electrical unlocking device of a door lock, and secondly is mechanically coupled to the door lock, such that an actuation of the door handle with a minimal actuation path effectuates the switch and an electrical unlocking device of the door lock and an actuation of the door handle with a greater actuation path effectuates a mechanical unlocking of the door lock.

Motor-driven door latch for vehicle

A motor-driven door latch for a vehicle includes a catch part which is caught on a striker mounted on the vehicle to lock a vehicle door to a vehicle body or is released from the striker so that the door can be opened from the vehicle body. A door locking and releasing part includes a main motor and applies torque to the catch part through the main motor to allow the catch part to be locked to or released from the striker. A collision response part applies torque to the catch part through the door locking and releasing part in order to keep the door in the collision in the locked state and allow the door on the side opposite to the collision to be opened in the event of a collision.
