Vehicle Storage Compartment Latch Assemblies with Shape Memory Alloy Actuator
The present disclosure refers to a latch assembly including a locking bar configured to be movable into (i) an engaged configuration with a storage compartment which enables an access door to be placed and held into a closed position and (ii) a disengaged configuration with the storage compartment in a vehicle to be placed into an opened position and a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator. The SMA actuator comprises an SMA wire guided around a conductive pulley, and the SMA actuator is configured to move the locking bar into the disengaged configuration and permit the access door of the storage compartment in the vehicle to open. The present disclosure also refers to vehicle storage compartment with such a latch assembly and a method of activation and deactivation of such a latch assembly.
VEHICULAR EXTERIOR ACTUATOR WITH RATCHET MECHANISM
A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a base, a handle movable relative to the base between recessed and deployed positions, an actuator that is operable to move the handle between the positions, and a connection mechanism that pivots relative to the base to move the handle between the positions. The actuator operates to pull and release a cable to pivot the connection mechanism to move the handle. The connection mechanism, when the actuator is operated to pull the cable, pivots in a first direction to move the handle from the recessed toward the deployed position. A biasing element of the connection mechanism biases the connection mechanism in a second direction to move the handle toward the recessed position when the actuator releases the cable. Responsive to cable tension being reduced by a threshold amount, the connection mechanism adjusts to increase tension.

Latch assembly
A latch assembly for a vehicle, in applications such as an armrest console or a glove box, includes a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator. The SMA actuator includes an actuator housing, an SMA wire, and an actuator lever arm. The actuator lever arm is configured to pivotably rotate or linearly translate with respect to the actuator housing upon activation of the SMA wire. A connecting link is coupled to the actuator lever arm. The connecting link is configured to translate linearly along a connecting link axis when the actuator lever arm pivotably rotates or linearly translates. A striker is coupled to the connecting link and configured to rotate about a striker axis to engage a closing surface.

DUAL FUNCTION LATCH ASSEMBLY FOR DUAL DOOR PILLAR-LESS DOOR SYSTEM AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE LATCH ASSEMBLY
A latch assembly for a closure system having first and second closure members each movable between open and closed positions and method of operation are provided. The assembly includes a primary latch mechanism that has a primary actuation group to control actuation of the first closure member. The latch assembly also includes a secondary latch mechanism that has a secondary actuation group operable to control actuation of the second closure member. A controller unit is coupled to the primary and secondary actuation groups and determines which of the primary actuation group and the secondary actuation group to actuate and controls actuation of at least one of the primary actuation group and the secondary actuation group accordingly. The primary and secondary latch mechanisms, primary and secondary actuation groups, and controller unit are all integrated into the housing.

LOCKING MECHANISM FOR SLIDABLE VEHICLE DOORS
An assembly for a vehicle includes a first door and a second door moveable from an open position to a closed position. The assembly includes a first locking member supported by the first door moveable along a first axis to a raised position and to a lowered position. The assembly includes a second locking member supported by the second door movable along a second axis transverse to the first axis. The first locking member is lockingly engaged with the second locking member when the second locking member is in the extended position and the first locking member is in one of the lowered position or the raised position. The first locking member is disengaged with the second locking member when the second locking member is in the retracted position and the first locking member is in the other of the lowered position or the raised position.
