A locking apparatus for a front flap of a motor vehicle comprises a double-stroke lock, including a first locking element and a second locking element, to mechanically lock the front flap in a closed position and in a locked position; an unlocking element, coupled to the double-stroke lock, to unlock the first locking element by a first stroke and the second locking element by a second stroke separate from the first stroke; an actuator, coupled to the unlocking element, to move the unlocking element to unlock the first locking and the second locking element; a drive motor to drive the actuator; a first control device and a second control device to separately control the drive motor; and a changeover element to change over control of the actuator from the first control device to the second control device and vice versa based on a position of the actuator. The drive motor is operable by the first control device to move the actuator to effect a first stroke, and the drive motor is operable by the second control device to move the actuator to effect a second stroke.
LOCKING MEANS FOR A FRONT FLAP OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A locking apparatus for a front flap of a motor vehicle comprises a double-stroke lock, including a first locking element and a second locking element, to mechanically lock the front flap in a closed position and in a locked position; an unlocking element, coupled to the double-stroke lock, to unlock the first locking element by a first stroke and the second locking element by a second stroke separate from the first stroke; an actuator, coupled to the unlocking element, to move the unlocking element to unlock the first locking and the second locking element; a drive motor to drive the actuator; a first control device and a second control device to separately control the drive motor; and a changeover element to change over control of the actuator from the first control device to the second control device and vice versa based on a position of the actuator. The drive motor is operable by the first control device to move the actuator to effect a first stroke, and the drive motor is operable by the second control device to move the actuator to effect a second stroke.
Actuator
An actuator includes an electric motor, a power transmission mechanism having a worm provided in a motor rotating shaft of the electric motor and a worm wheel engaging the worm, a drive member connected to the motor rotating shaft through the power transmission mechanism and displaced according to a rotation of the motor rotating shaft, a control device determining a rotational range of the motor rotating shaft between an initial position and a driven position, and an urging device provided in the motor rotating shaft and urging the motor rotating shaft to the initial position. In case electricity is supplied to the electric motor, the motor rotating shaft rotates to the driven position against an urging force of the urging device, and in case the electricity is not supplied to the electric motor, the motor rotating shaft is urged by the urging device to rotate to the initial position.
Actuator
An actuator includes an electric motor, a power transmission mechanism having a worm provided in a motor rotating shaft of the electric motor and a worm wheel engaging the worm, a drive member connected to the motor rotating shaft through the power transmission mechanism and displaced according to a rotation of the motor rotating shaft, a control device determining a rotational range of the motor rotating shaft between an initial position and a driven position, and an urging device provided in the motor rotating shaft and urging the motor rotating shaft to the initial position. In case electricity is supplied to the electric motor, the motor rotating shaft rotates to the driven position against an urging force of the urging device, and in case the electricity is not supplied to the electric motor, the motor rotating shaft is urged by the urging device to rotate to the initial position.
AUXILIARY LOCKING DRIVE
The disclosure relates to an auxiliary locking drive for a motor vehicle lock, wherein the auxiliary locking drive, in the fitted state, provides an auxiliary locking drive train which has an auxiliary locking drive motor and a planetary gearing which is connected downstream of the auxiliary locking drive motor and has the following gearing elements: a sun gear, a planet gear carrier and a ring gear, wherein a first gearing element of the planetary gearing is coupled or is couplable to the auxiliary locking drive motor and a second gearing element of the planetary gearing is coupled or is couplable to the lock latch, wherein a switchable fixing device is provided, with which, for producing and releasing a drive coupling between the first gearing element and the second gearing element, the in each case third gearing element of the planetary gearing is fixable and releasable.

Vehicle storage compartment latch assemblies with shape memory alloy actuator
The present disclosure refers to a latch assembly including a locking bar configured to be movable into (i) an engaged configuration with a storage compartment which enables an access door to be placed and held into a closed position and (ii) a disengaged configuration with the storage compartment in a vehicle to be placed into an opened position and a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator. The SMA actuator comprises an SMA wire guided around a conductive pulley, and the SMA actuator is configured to move the locking bar into the disengaged configuration and permit the access door of the storage compartment in the vehicle to open. The present disclosure also refers to vehicle storage compartment with such a latch assembly and a method of activation and deactivation of such a latch assembly.
