PASSENGER SAFEGUARDS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for detecting whether an object is approaching an autonomous vehicle when a passenger is about to exit the autonomous vehicle, determining a speed and type of the object that is approaching the autonomous vehicle, determining whether the object will enter an exit zone when the passenger enters the exit zone based on the speed and the type of the object that is approaching the autonomous vehicle, and preventing the passenger from exiting the autonomous vehicle based on the determining of whether the object will enter the exit zone when the passenger enters the exit zone.
VEHICLE DOOR LOCK DEVICE
A vehicle door lock device includes: a connecting portion to which a connector for connection to an external device is connected; a casing; a latch mechanism that is arranged at a rear end portion of the casing in a vehicle front-rear direction and includes a latch and a ratchet; a locking and unlocking mechanism arranged in the casing, the locking and unlocking mechanism including: a lever lock that switches between transmitting or not transmitting a door opening operation to the latch mechanism according to a rotational position; and a motor that drives the lever lock; a first switch that detects a rotational position of the lever lock; a second switch that detects a rotational position of the latch; and a connecting unit that electrically connects the connecting portion to the motor, the first switch and the second switch.
RADAR-BASED VEHICLE PERIMETER SECURITY AND CONTROL
A method and system perform perimeter security and control of a vehicle. The system includes a radar system arranged in the vehicle, a maximum range of the radar system being less than 100 meters, and a communication unit to communicate with the radar system. The system also includes a control system of the vehicle to control the platform based on the radar system. The control system dynamically controls each door of the vehicle according to a location of the communication unit relative to the platform.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE OCCUPANT LOCATION DETECTION
A system includes a processor configured to determine the location of a wirelessly-identified device within a vehicle. The processor is also configured to determine a locking schema associated with the device for locking child-lockable vehicle systems and apply the locking schema to corresponding systems in a defined proximity to the determined device location.
ELECTRONIC HANDLE FOR A VEHICLE DOOR
A vehicle handle includes a grip member, electronic device, bracket, and retainer. The grip member cooperates with an activation member to activate a latch and unlatch the door. The grip member and activation member are rotatably mounted respectively about grip and activation axes. The electronic device activates the latch. The retainer is mounted on the bracket to rotate around a retaining axis and has a predetermined retaining force. The grip, activation, and retaining axes are parallel to each other. The activation member comprises a driving element and the retaining member comprises a stop element. The driving element cooperates with the stop element such that when the grip member is pulled from the rest position to the mechanical activation position, the activation member is actuated according to a driving force. The driving element contacts the stop element and is retained thereby until the driving force exceeds the predetermined retaining force.
VEHICLE DOOR LOCKING AND UNLOCKING VEHICLE-MOUNTED DEVICE, VEHICLE INCLUDING VEHICLE-MOUNTED DEVICE, AND VEHICLE DOOR LOCKING AND UNLOCKING SYSTEM INCLUDING VEHICLE-MOUNTED DEVICE
A vehicle door locking and unlocking vehicle-mounted device is provided to lock and unlock a vehicle door for car rental and carsharing. The vehicle-mounted device can lock and unlock a vehicle door without using an ECU on the vehicle or CAN. The vehicle door locking and unlocking vehicle-mounted device includes communication means for receiving a lock command or an unlock command from a user terminal directly or through a server and at least one internal relay connected to wiring between a door key switch and a door lock actuator of the vehicle. The internal relay controls at least one external relay to drive the door lock actuator to lock or unlock the door.
