LOCKING DEVICE FOR OPENING/CLOSING BODY
A locking device includes a lock portion on one of a fixed body or an opening/closing body, a rod on the other member, and a protrusion protruding from the other member. The rod has a recess surrounded by a pair of first walls facing each other in a sliding direction of the rod and a pair of second walls facing each other in a direction orthogonal to the sliding direction. A first elastic piece extends from one of the first walls toward the other and applies an elastic force against a tip end surface of the protrusion, and a pair of second elastic pieces extend from the second walls. Each of the second elastic pieces has a receiving surface that engages with a back surface of a flange portion of the protrusion, and is configured to elastically abut against a side surface of the protrusion.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR OPENING/CLOSING BODY
A locking device includes a lock portion on one of a fixed body or an opening/closing body, a rod on the other member, and a protrusion protruding from the other member. The rod has a recess surrounded by a pair of first walls facing each other in a sliding direction of the rod and a pair of second walls facing each other in a direction orthogonal to the sliding direction. A first elastic piece extends from one of the first walls toward the other and applies an elastic force against a tip end surface of the protrusion, and a pair of second elastic pieces extend from the second walls. Each of the second elastic pieces has a receiving surface that engages with a back surface of a flange portion of the protrusion, and is configured to elastically abut against a side surface of the protrusion.

An opening and closing structure of a glove box is proposed. The opening and closing structure of a glove box includes a handle rotatably provided at a front panel, a rotation unit connected to a longitudinal first portion of the handle, a first locking rod connected to the rotation unit, a gear unit connected to a longitudinal first portion of the first locking rod, and a second locking rod of which a longitudinal first portion is connected to the gear unit, wherein the rotation unit is configured to transmit power generated by the handle to the first locking rod while being rotatably disposed on the longitudinal first portion of the handle and an upper portion of a longitudinal center portion of the first locking rod.

The opening and closing structure of a glove box includes a handle rotatably provided at a front panel, a rotation unit connected to a longitudinal first portion of the handle, a first locking rod connected to the rotation unit, a gear unit connected to a longitudinal first portion of the first locking rod, and a second locking rod of which a longitudinal first portion is connected to the gear unit, wherein the rotation unit is configured to transmit power generated by the handle to the first locking rod while being rotatably disposed on the longitudinal first portion of the handle and an upper portion of a longitudinal center portion of the first locking rod.
Magnetic latch and vehicle container and system
A magnetic latch for a lid and the bin of a container in a vehicle comprises at least one overmolded magnet detachably connected to a lid. A metal portion is magnetically attracted with the overmolded magnet. At least one overmolded magnet is connected to a bin having a magnetic attraction with the lid overmolded magnet to magnetically open and close the lid and the bin of the container. The overmold on the magnet encloses the magnet with vibration dampening material such as rubber. The metal portion may be a second at least one overmolded magnet second. The container may be a center console, glove box, ash tray, trunk, sun roof shade, cover. Spears, clips, prongs other suitable fasteners may be formed on one side of the overmold to allow insertion and attachment to a corresponding hole on the lid.

A magnetic latch for a lid and the bin of a container in a vehicle comprises at least one overmolded magnet detachably connected to a lid. A metal portion is magnetically attracted with the overmolded magnet. At least one overmolded magnet is connected to a bin having a magnetic attraction with the lid overmolded magnet to magnetically open and close the lid and the bin of the container. A vehicular storage box that includes a compartment for holding articles, the compartment comprising four sides, a bottom and a top lid. The compartment is fabricated from an engineered plastic or a polymer matrix composite. The box further includes a locking assembly situated within the lid. The locking assembly comprises a central locking wheel connected to a linkage, a plurality of pawls for each of at least three of the sides of the compartment, and a solenoid switch. The locking wheel is movably connected to the plurality of pawls. Further, the solenoid switch is connected to the linkage to move the wheel to drive the plurality of pawls into and out of the at least three of the sides of the compartment into a respective locked position of the lid and an unlocked position of the lid.
