DOOR LOCK SYSTEM AND METHOD
A door lock system and method includes a first latch member defining a threaded aperture and configured for attachment to a first door member, a second latch member having a slot and configured for attachment to a second door member, and a clamp member having an elongate shaft, a flange attached to a first end of the shaft, and a threaded, second end configured to be screwed into the threaded aperture; one end of the shaft defines a tool aperture. An end region adjacent the first end of the shaft is configured to be disposed through the slot. When a tool is used to rotate the shaft relative to the threaded aperture to move the flange towards the second latch member, the flange comes into abutment with the second latch member to connect the shaft and latch members together for securing the door members.
Automatic latch for a two-piece container
A self-locking latch assembly for a two-piece container is provided. The latch assembly has a latch hook pivotably biased in a parallel orientation to the first piece of the two-piece container, while a keeper is connected though spaced apart from the surface of the second piece of the two-piece container. The two-piece container is adapted to move between an open and closed position by sliding an open end of the larger piece over an open end of a smaller piece. During this sliding action, toward the closed position, a tapered edge of the latch hook strikes the keeper and is urged upward until the tapered edge ends, whereby the biasing of the latch hook urges it to engage the keeper in a locked condition. To unlock the latch hook, one can pivot it to a nonparallel orientation and slide the two pieces apart.
Hinged Panel Locking Assembly
A locking assembly for locking panels of a hinged panel assembly together. The hinged panel assembly has a second movable panel rotatably mounted to a first fixed panel by a hinge. The locking assembly is intended for selectively holding the second panel in position relative to the first panel in a folded configuration. The locking assembly includes a male assembly and a female assembly. The male assembly is configured to be rotatably mounted to the first panel, and has a tab rotationally fixed relative to a rotatable actuator, with the tab and the actuator configured to be disposed on opposing sides of the first panel. The female assembly is configured to be fixedly mounted to the second panel. The female assembly has a recess configured to receive the tab. The locking assembly is rotatable between a locked position and an unlocked position.
Press-to-deploy rotatable latch assembly
A latch assembly is provided that includes a latch arm having a rotational axis and an engagement surface on a distal end of the latch arm a length from the rotational axis. The engagement surface is stowed in a stowed state of the latch arm. The latch arm is configured to receive a pushing force to depress the latch arm a predetermined distance along the rotational axis. The latch assembly also includes a turret assembly having a top end with the latch arm mounted thereon. The turret assembly is configured to, in response to the pushing force being applied to the latch arm, raise and rotate the latch arm about the rotational axis to thereby transition the latch arm from the stowed state to a deployed state in which the engagement surface is exposed.
Latch having cover
A latch is configured to fix a panel relative to a frame. The latch includes a housing having a longitudinal axis and defining an aperture along the longitudinal axis; a cap mounted within the aperture of the housing for rotation about the longitudinal axis, the cap comprising a drive surface; and a cover coupled to the housing to pivot about a lateral axis, the cover pivotable to be in a closed position in which the cover covers the cap; wherein when the cap is in an unlatched position, the drive surface of the cap is aligned with an engagement surface of the cover and positioned to block the cover from pivoting to the closed position; and wherein when the cap is in a latched position, the drive surface is unaligned with the engagement surface and positioned to permit the cover to pivot to the closed position.
Window fastener
A window fastener including: a base configured for connection to a window sash; a handle carrying a latching tongue, pivotally connected to the base between a latched position and an unlatched position; and an interface between the base and the handle, wherein the interface causes the latching tongue to move axially closer to the base when the handle pivots from the unlatched position to the latched position; and wherein the interface causes the latching tongue to move axially away from the base when the handle pivots from the latched position to the unlatched position.
Swivel Lever Device and System for Actuating a Closure Apparatus of an Access Control Device
The invention relates to a swivel lever device for actuating a closure apparatus, in particular a bolt-closure means and/or bar-closure means, of an access control device, in particular a door and/or hatch, having: a housing for fastening the swivel lever device, in particular to the access control device, and a swivel lever for actuating the closure apparatus, the swivel lever be movable relative to the housing between an arresting position and an actuation position for actuating the closure apparatus, the swivel lever in the actuation position being pivotable about an actuation axis relative to the housing, a locking mechanism for securing the swivel lever against unauthorised movement from the arresting position into the actuation position being provided, and the locking mechanism comprising at least one locking element, which can be moved between a locked position for interlockingly blocking the movement of the swivel lever from the arresting position to the actuation position and an unlocked position for releasing the movement of the swivel lever from the arresting position into the actuation position. To achieve better protection against damage and contamination, according to the invention the locking element includes at least one locking magnet for moving the locking element from the locked position into the unlocked position by means of the magnetic interaction between the locking magnet and at least one unlocking magnet of a corresponding key unit.
Vehicle door latch security tether
A vehicle that includes a door, handle, shaft, and a latch assembly is provided. The latch assembly is coupled to the door to selectively secure the door. The latch assembly includes a security tether configured to prevent the shaft from moving the pawl when the lock lever is located in the locked condition. The security tether further includes: a plate attachable to the latch assembly; the plate includes an aperture sized to receive at least a portion of the lock lever that is disposed through the aperture; the plate includes first and second stop surfaces to limit movement of the lock lever; the first and second stop surfaces are also spaced apart from each other; the lock lever is movable between the first and second stop surfaces; at least the first stop surface is spaced apart from the first location on the pawl; and the lock lever engages the first stop surface when the lock lever is located in the locked condition to prevent the pawl from moving to the unlatched condition and unlatching the latching assembly.
ROTARY LATCH FOR PORTHOLE DOOR OF AN INCUBATOR
A neonatal incubator system includes an enclosure having a series of side panels that create a chamber that receives an infant. At least one of the side panels includes a porthole having a porthole door that is movable between open and closed positions. A rotary latch is positioned to engage the porthole door to retain the porthole door in the closed position when the latch is in a latched position. The rotary latch is designed such movement of the rotary latch to an unlatched position creates physical separation between the porthole door and a sealing gasket or bumpers located between the porthole door and the side panel. The rotary latch is designed such that a control knob can be moved to a cleaning position in which the control knob is spaced from the side panel to expose a liquid gutter that is formed as part of a stationary base.
Door latch
A latch is provided for latching the doors of cubicles or stalls provided in public washrooms. The latch includes a body mounted within a cavity formed between the inner and outer door surfaces, the body rotatably mounting a spindle having a latching member mounted at one end. Biasing means in the form of one or more cam followers acting on a corresponding number of cam surfaces is provided between the body and the spindle to hold the spindle in a closed position but, once displaced from the closed position, to bias the spindle toward a fully open position.
