Vehicle Door Latch Security Tether
A vehicle that includes a door, handle, shaft, and a latch assembly is provided. The latch assembly is coupled to the door to selectively secure the door. The latch assembly includes a security tether configured to prevent the shaft from moving the pawl when the lock lever is located in the locked condition. The security tether further includes: a plate attachable to the latch assembly; the plate includes an aperture sized to receive at least a portion of the lock lever that is disposed through the aperture; the plate includes first and second stop surfaces to limit movement of the lock lever; the first and second stop surfaces are also spaced apart from each other; the lock lever is movable between the first and second stop surfaces; at least the first stop surface is spaced apart from the first location on the pawl; and the lock lever engages the first stop surface when the lock lever is located in the locked condition to prevent the pawl from moving to the unlatched condition and unlatching the latching assembly.
ROTATABLE HANDLE FOR HVAC ACCESS PANELS
A handle for an access panel of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a handle portion configured to be disposed on a first side of the access panel. The handle portion includes a first prong comprising a first tooth and a second prong comprising a second tooth. The first prong and the second prong are configured to extend through the access panel. The handle also includes a latch portion configured to be disposed on a second side of the access panel. The latch portion includes a passage extending therethrough and configured to receive the first prong and the second prong. The latch portion includes a first tooth recess and a second tooth recess. The first tooth is configured to engage with the first tooth recess and the second tooth is configured to engage with the second tooth recess to secure the handle portion and the latch portion to one another and to secure the handle to the access panel in an installed configuration of the handle. The handle also includes a gasket configured to be disposed between the handle portion and the latch portion in the installed configuration of the handle. The handle is adjustable, relative to the access panel, between a first position and a second position in the installed configuration.
STRADDLE-TYPE VEHICLE
There is provided a straddle-type vehicle including: a battery case having an accommodation space that accommodates a battery pack and an opening for attaching and detaching the battery pack via the opening that opens the accommodation space; a pressing mechanism including an abutting member capable of abutting the battery pack in a state where the battery pack is accommodated in the accommodation space of the battery case, and a retainer that holds the abutting member abutting the battery pack while pressing the abutting member toward the battery pack; and a lid body connected to the battery case via the pressing mechanism and that opens and closes the opening of the battery case.
COMPRESSION LATCH
According to one aspect of the invention, a latch is configured to fix a panel relative to a frame. The latch includes a housing configured for engagement to the panel. The housing defines an aperture extending along a longitudinal axis, and further defines a cam surface facing in a direction along the longitudinal axis. A shaft extends within the aperture of the housing and along the longitudinal axis. The shaft is mounted for at least one of rotational movement relative to the housing about the longitudinal axis and axial movement relative to the housing along the longitudinal axis. A barrier wall is mounted for axial movement relative to the housing along the longitudinal axis. The barrier wall at least partially overlaps with the housing along the longitudinal axis. A shaft surface extends radially outwardly from the shaft relative to the longitudinal axis. The shaft surface contacts the cam surface defined by the housing. The shaft is configured to be coupled to a pawl for engagement of the frame. The cam surface defined by the housing is configured to guide the movement of the shaft relative to the housing along the longitudinal axis or about the longitudinal axis as the shaft is moved within the aperture defined by the housing along the longitudinal axis or about the longitudinal axis and as the shaft surface of the shaft and the cam surface of the housing move relative to one another, such that the pawl can engage or disengage the frame. The barrier wall and the housing move relative to one another along the longitudinal axis in a range of relative positions, and the barrier wall and housing together inhibit the ingress of unwanted materials into the aperture of the housing throughout the range of relative positions.
Aircraft door locking system and aircraft door arrangement
An aircraft door locking system comprises a first locking element fastenable to a first element of an aircraft door arrangement rotatable about a rotation axis and having a receiving opening and a bearing shell. A second locking element is fastenable to a door arrangement second element and comprises a locking bolt. In a release state, the locking bolt is insertable through the receiving opening and, by a rotation of the first locking element about the rotation axis in a locking direction, is positionable in the bearing shell to effect the locking state. A torque-generating device is configured, in the locking state, to generate a torque opposing a rotation of the first locking element about the rotation axis in a release direction opposite to the locking direction if a force directed substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis is exerted on the bearing shell and/or on the locking bolt.
Weather resistant lock
A weather resistant tumbler lock has an elongated body, and defines a longitudinal axis. The lock is interchangeable with another lock having a corresponding asymmetrical perimeter profile with an opening in a top surface sealed with a cap, the other lock having a different rotatable core and a different configuration of tumblers. A drainway provides a channel for water to flow outwardly from the interior of a shell housing, a rotatable core and a keyway within the core, to a drain below the lock. The drain connects to a channel through a lower edge. The core provides an arcuate gap in a lower quadrant adjacent the interior surface of the shell for fluid communication with the drainway. A method includes identifying a substitute tumbler lock with an impermeable outer wall for replacing another lock having an identical outer perimeter profile and a permeable closed opening on its top surface.
Keeper and aircraft with such keeper
The invention involves a keeper (20) to interact with a bolt (16) of a lock (10); The keeper includes a bracket (22) for attachment to a structure, and a keeper rod (24) secured to the bracket, the keeper rod extending from one surface (27) of the bracket. In the keeper, a shaft (32) is attached to the bracket and can rotate freely relative to the bracket such that it extends in a longitudinal direction (X); a blade (40) is mounted on the shaft (32) on one side of the bracket near the keeper rod in such a way as to always rotate along with the shaft; an angular position indicator (46) is also mounted so as to always rotate along with the shaft; the blade being so positioned that it can be rotated by the latch when the latch hooks on to or releases from the keeper rod, and the angular position indicator (46) being capable of indicating the angular position of the blade. The invention is for example intended to be used on an aircraft door such as that of a helicopter.
Handle locking structure
A handle locking structure includes a handle having a pivot portion pivotally connected to a sliding box, a buckle portion for hooking on a cabinet and a handle shaft, and a positioning structure including a base connected to the handle shaft, a positioning device mounted in the base and an elastic member placed on the positioning device. When the handle is hooked on the cabinet, a peripheral limiter of a head member of the positioning device is disengaged from a position-limiting notch of the base to reset the elastic member, so that the positioning device is automatically locked to the sliding box, avoiding vibration of the handle and improving the locking stability of the handle.
LOCK
A lock comprising a housing assembly, an actuatable lock assembly and a locking shell assembly. The housing assembly has a cavity and a bore. The actuatable lock assembly is rotatable between a closed orientation and an open orientation, and includes an outer body and an inner body. The inner body has a knob and an elongated shaft with an axial pin that interfaces with a slot in the outer body. The locking shell assembly has a shell housing bore extending therethrough. A rear portion of the shell housing has a slot with a longitudinal first portion and a transverse second portion. The axial pin is slidably movable along the longitudinal first portion and slidably movable along the transverse second portion upon rotation of the inner body relative to the shell housing.
