Console for vehicle interior
A component for vehicle interior is disclosed. The component comprises a base, a bin and a cover. The cover is configured to move relative to the base from a closed position to cover the bin to an intermediate position to partially uncover the bin to an open position to uncover the bin. The cover provides a latch. The latch is configured to secure the cover to the base at the closed position, the intermediate position and the open position. The latch is also configured to release the cover from the base at the closed position, the intermediate position and the open position. The latch comprises a button and two arms. The button is configured to facilitate movement of the two arms between an extended position and a retracted position. The two arms engage with the base to secure the cover to the base when the two arms are at the extended position. The two arms disengage with the base to release the cover from the base when the two arms are at the retracted position.
MORTISE AND MULTIPOINT LATCHING ASSEMBLY
In one form, a multipoint locking assembly includes a first latch device, a second latch device, and a mortise assembly coupled to the first and second latch devices. The mortise assembly may comprise a first transmission coupled to the first latch device via a first flexible member, a second transmission coupled to the second latch device via a second flexible member, and an actuation assembly operable to actuate the first and second transmissions. At least one of the transmissions comprises a slack removal device operable to remove slack in the flexible member to which it is coupled, thereby ensuring proper transmission of pulling forces between the transmission and the latch device.
INCREMENTAL WINDOW OR DOOR ASSEMBLY
An assembly that allows for incremental displacement of a window or door sash relative to a frame. Such a window or door system may include a handle exposed outside the window or door, retractable pins located on a sash of the window or door and holes on jambs of the window or door. The pins may be inserted into the holes to prevent the window or door from being moved if the handle is not turned. Turning the handle may pull the pins out of the holes and allow the window or door to move. A spring or similar mechanism may cause the pins to return the pins' protruding state when the handle is not being turned. The user may open the window or door to a desired open position by turning the handle and may lock the window or door at the opened position by releasing the handle for the pins to be inserted into corresponding holes for locking.
Rotary actuated slam latch system
Rotary actuated latch systems with linearly acting latch rods, and methods of assembling rotary actuated latch systems with linearly acting rods are disclosed. In some aspects, the rotary actuated latch systems are self-engaging and comprise a handle having two guides, the handle operably attached to a spring, two latch rods comprising clevises operably attached to the two guides, and at least two strike plates for actuating the latching system without additional user input. The spring applies equal tension to the two linearly acting latch rods, allowing for smooth operation of the latching system without binding while providing for a compact design that eliminates stresses imposed by conventional latch systems where the latch rods rotate off-axis. In some embodiments, the rotary actuated latch system may be assembled as a complete unit, prior to installation on the mechanism to be latched.
Latch System with Position Hold
A latch system has a pin movable along a pin axis, a control rod connected to the pin, a control wall comprising a control aperture comprising a lock hole joined to an unlock hole by a rod channel, and a control knob biased toward the pin, wherein the control knob comprises a lock tip sized to fit within each of the lock hole and the unlock hole.
MULTIPOINT LOCK
A multipoint lock for securing a door panel is described. The multipoint lock includes a first latch, a second latch, a first hub rotatable with at least one of a thumb-turn knob or a key, and a second hub rotatable with a handle lever. Upward rotation of the handle lever causes both rotation of the first hub and rotation of the second hub in the same rotational direction
Theft proof ground vault and locking lid
A locking lid for a ground vault, generally containing high voltage cable junctions or communication lines, provides a secure lid locking to the ground vault which prevents removal of the lid from the vault by an unauthorized person, preventing theft of the contents of the vault including high voltage electrical lines, communication lines or other buried equipment which might be stolen for salvage or subject to vandalism.
REAR SLIDER WINDOW ASSEMBLY
A rear slider window assembly for a vehicle includes a movable window panel that is movable along channels of a fixed window panel via guide pins. A first guide pin moves along a first channel, which as a slot established therealong and therethrough. An electrical connector electrically connects electrical terminals at the fixed window panel to electrical terminals at the movable window panel, and includes a pin follower that extends through the slot of the first channel to electrically connect to a flexible cable connected to terminals at the fixed window panel and to electrical terminals at the movable window panel. The lower rail may include a water drainage element including (i) a hole established through the lower rail and (ii) a drainage receiving conduit attached at the fixed window panel beneath the hole of the lower rail and spaced from the lower rail.
Tailgate latching architecture for cost and performance
A vehicle includes a cargo box having an opening and opposed apertures on opposite sides of the opening. The vehicle further includes a tailgate having locks retaining a pair of outwardly-biased pins in retracted positions when the tailgate is open. The locks engage the cargo box and release the pins when the tailgate is closed whereby the pins shift outwardly into the apertures when the tailgate is closed. A release lever selectively retracts the pins to permit the tailgate to be opened.
