Sliding door with emergency swing feature
A horizontally elongated rail is adapted to be mounted with respect to a door opening, and a door assembly is slideably mounted on the rail and is slideable along a generally vertical imaginary plane. The door assembly includes an upper section cooperating with the rail to provide for the slideable mounting of the door assembly on the rail, and a lower section pivotably attached to the upper section at an attached end thereof so as to be pivotable with respect to the upper section about a generally vertical axis from a closed position, in which the upper section and the lower section are generally co-planar, to an open position. A safety release has an engaged position, in which the lower section and the upper section are fixed in the closed position, and a disengaged position, in which the lower section is pivotable to the open position.
Door lock device
A door lock device includes a door mount comprising a front base plate and a mounting guide coupled to the front base plate, the door mount mountable to a door; and a lock arm assembly comprising an attachment plate and a structure engagement assembly, the attachment plate defining a mounting slot, the mounting guide engaging the mounting slot to mount the lock arm assembly on the door mount, the structure engagement assembly configured to engage a structure surrounding the door to prevent the door from opening.
BARRICADE TO PREVENT ACCESS THROUGH A DOOR AND A METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A right-angled triangle barricade for a door it is not directly connected to. The right-angle barricade is pivotably mounted to a supporting surface, such as a wall or ceiling, adjacent to the door to be barricaded. The right-angle barricade is pivotably movable from an inactive orientation, where its profile is flush against the supporting surface and not in the swing path of the door, to an active orientation where its profile is normal to the door and forces imparted on the door are transferred to be normal against the supporting surface.
Locking device for front load container
A locking device for a container having a hinged lid, comprises a base unit adapted to be fixed to the container and a pivotable unit mounted to the base unit and pivotally movable between on open and closed positions. The base unit includes a base member and a pinion member non-movably attached to the base member. The pivotable unit includes a locking mechanism comprising a pivotable locking member, a sliding member reciprocating between the locking member and the pinion member. The locking member is movable between a blocking position preventing the movement of the sliding member relative the pinion member so as to prevent relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit, and a release position permitting the movement of the sliding member relative the pinion member so as to permit relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit.
DOOR LOCK DEVICE
A door lock device includes a mount comprising a front base plate and a mounting guide; and a lock arm assembly comprising an attachment plate and an engagement assembly, the attachment plate defining a mounting slot, the mounting guide engaging the mounting slot to mount the lock arm assembly on the mount; wherein: the engagement assembly comprises an arm member coupled to the attachment plate; the lock arm assembly comprises a support member coupling the arm member to the attachment plate; the support member is oriented perpendicular to the attachment plate; one of the support member and the arm member defines an adjustment slot; the other of the support member and the arm member defines a fastener hole; an adjustment fastener extends through each of the adjustment slot and the fastener hole; and the adjustment fastener is slidable within the adjustment slot.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHELTERING IN PLACE WITH ADVANCED RESPONDER NOTIFICATION AND READY ACCESS
A system and method for a universal locking system that mounts to any type of door, clamping and reinforcing the door from both sides. The system and method is compliant with the intent of CMS, NFPA, TJC codes & standards, allowing the occupant to participate in his own decision to run, hide or fight. Wall-mounting the locking device and allowing the occupant to remove the device and install it at the door complies with the ANSI Knowing Act and requires the occupant to activate the locking device. Removal of the device from the wall mounting, immediately alerts first responders of potential sheltering-in-place while providing a remote audio/visual alarm, while identifying location of the device. Alert locations include nurse stations, staff locations, building securing desk/offices and fire command. A key override is provided so that responders/authorities can gain entry without requiring any special knowledge of the locking configuration.

Method and device for barricading a door
A barricade device and a method of barricading a door are disclosed. The device and method may be used to barricade a door, and thereby prevent an intruder from entering a sheltering space, such as a classroom, storeroom, or hallway. The barricade-device may have a pivotable stop-device that is pivotable from a location adjacent to a door. The pivot-location may be at an elevation that is lower than a door handle on the door. The stop-device may be pivotable from a reserve-position to a stop-position. In the reserve-position, the stop-device does not barricade the door. In the barricade-position, the stop-device barricades the door.
Entry securing apparatus and methods thereof
An entry securing apparatus for securing a door is provided that may comprise a rod secured to the door with one or more supports; a door block comprising a slot for receiving the rod and allowing the rod to pass through the door block, the door block moveable from a disengaged position to an engaged position, wherein the door block is in the engaged position when a portion of the door block is overlapping at least a portion of a door frame surrounding the door; and a fastener for securing the door block in the engaged position, whereby opening of the door is restricted by the door block.
