Electronic remotely-controlled inswing portable door lock
A remotely controlled inswing portable door lock apparatus having a blade including a barb at a distal end and a tang at a proximal end. The barb being configured to be disposed within an aperture of a strike plate. The body having a top and a bottom, wherein the body is operably coupled to the tang of the blade. A paddle being moveably coupled to the body and configured to selectively move between a first orientation substantially flush with the top of the body and a second orientation protruding from the top of the body. The apparatus further including a remotely controllable electronics module coupled to the body and configured to operate an electromechanical electromechanical actuator in cooperation with the paddle, and configured to remotely and selectively position the paddle between the first orientation and the second orientation.
Strike plate lock
An auxiliary lock for preventing a hinged door from opening all the way is provided. The lock comprises a strike plate, a flip lock plate, a catching member to receive a door knob or handle, and a means for connecting the catching member and flip lock plate. In an embodiment, the strike plate may be configured to replace any standard strike plate disposed on an inside portion of a door jamb, and the flap lock plate may longitudinally extend from a hinged connection with strike plate in the direction of an opening door so as to optionally block the door from opening and avoid obstructing a swinging door when disengaged. In use, the catching member may be placed around the door knob or handle so that the means for connecting the catching member and flip lock plate form an inseparable link between the door jamb and door itself.
Security Latch for a Swing Bar Door Guard
A security latch for a swing bar door guard having a break away rotatable cross-member to further secure the swing bar so as to permit a minimal gap between the door and doorway when the door is opened while the cross-member extends through the swing bar retaining arm passage and is rotated lengthwise across the span to secure the swing bar. The minimal gap inhibits the introduction of a tool into the span along the midsection of the swing bar that could be used to pry the swing bar members apart to release the knob of a swing bar retaining arm.
ADJUSTABLE BAR WINDOW LOCK
An adjustable bar window lock is a straight bar with a foot at each end, and a snap-locking buckle in the center wherein the two double hung halves of the bar are able to be adjusted incrementally and solidly locked at a preferred length to lock a double hung window in a partially opened position against a window cooling unit to prevent removal or access to the interior of the home.
Door brace
A door brace (10) comprising: an engagement member (12) comprising a bottom flange (14) comprising one face comprising a textured surface (14a) to engage with a door (34); an angled leg (20) comprising a first section (22) hingedly connected at one end to the wall and a second section (23) extending from the first section at a first angle, the leg being movable between a stowed position and an extended position in which the first section makes a second angle, larger than the first angle, to the wall; an engagement foot (26) pivotably mounted on a mounting element (24) having an adjustable length; and a hinge stop configured to prevent the leg moving beyond a maximum extended position. Wherein, in an extended position, the second section of the leg extends at a third angle to the wall equal to the difference between the second and first angles and the engagement foot causes a clamping force to be applied to the door.
DOOR HOLDING DEVICE AND SAFETY SYSTEM
A door holding device and system is disclosed that holds a door in a partially open configuration. The door holding device includes a first arm assembly that attaches to a door frame, a second arm assembly that attaches to a door, a movable clamping mechanism that clamps the first arm assembly to the door frame, and a pivot device that allows the first arm assembly and the second arm assembly pivot with respect to each other.
Door brace
A door brace (10) comprising a door engagement member (12), a leg (20) and an engagement foot (26). The door engagement member (12) comprises a bottom flange (14) for location under a bottom edge of a door (34) and an engagement wall (16) having one face (18) for location against one side of the door. The leg comprises a fixed length section(22)and an adjustable length section (24). The leg is hingedly connected to the engagement wall and is movable between a bracing position in which it extends at a first angle to the engagement wall and a released position in which it extends at a smaller angle to the engagement wall. The door brace has a released condition in which the leg is in the released position and the adjustable length section of the leg has a first length and a bracing condition in which the leg is in the bracing position and the adjustable length section of the leg has a longer length.
Door security system
A security system for use with the door with a door jamb has a plate member mountable in the door jamb adjacent hinges of the door. The plate member has a protrusion extending outwardly therefrom. A bracket member has a slot therein for receipt of the protrusion of plate member. The bracket member has first and second wings extending outwardly therefrom so as to bear against the door and surface adjacent the door when the bracket member is received by the plate member. The bracket member has an alarm receiver on a front side thereof. A vibration-activated alarm is removably received by the alarm receiver. The vibration activated alarm can be utilized during travel and is attachable to any door, even without the plate member and bracket member.
