A system for removing, storing and precisely re-installing removable automobile doors. This system includes a mobile base for positioning near the vehicle and moving stored doors to their storage location. The base of this system provides mounting positions for 2 or more lifting/storing/re-installation devices, accommodating full service (removal, storage and re-installation) of up to 4 doors at once. The lifting/storage/re-installation devices contain full 3 axis precise adjustment and rigid coupling to each of the vehicle's doors. Without this precision, the weight and non-balance of removing/re-installing the doors can cause the door to tilt into or away from the vehicle, possibly crushing a human body part (finger, hand) and/or damaging the vehicle or door. By rigidly coupling the door to the precisely adjusted device, precise vertical lifting and lowering may be used to remove and re-install the doors, including accommodating surface variations encountered from removal to re-installation time.

A first connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a pivot hook and socket, a second connection includes a headed straight pin engaging a socket, a third connection includes headless bent pin engaging a socket and a limiter, and a fourth connection includes a headless bent pin engaging a socket.

Each first locking unit has a second connecting element and a blocking element. Each of the first connecting elements is rotatably connected with a respective one of the second connecting elements. Each blocking element has a blocking position for blocking a corresponding first connecting element to prevent it from being disengaged from the second connecting element and a pressed position for detaching the corresponding first connecting element from the second connecting element of the first locking unit.

The hinge assembly includes a pin assembly and an actuating assembly capable of moving a pin of the pin assembly between a retracted position and an extended position. The support bracket engages the pin in the extended position and is disengaged from the pin in the retracted position. The gate body has an axis of rotation extending through the pin when the pin engages the support bracket and is freely movable with respect to the support bracket when the pin is disengaged from the support bracket.
